This is the cast on my grandmother taught me when I was a child and it’s still my favourite.
Cool! As a leftie I bet it's one of the easiest for you. As a rightie myself, it took a while to get my head and fingers around it! happy knitting!

Hi Hannah. I have noticed lots of tutorials use a long tail when casting on for knitting in the round - why is this?
Not sure about that, doesn't see to work somehow with the way the stitches will face.
