It has come to our attention that scammers pretending to be us are replying to people's comments here, telling them they've won a prize. Please DO NOT contact them or reply! Instead, we ask you to report them to RUclips as spam. These scammers make their accounts look very similar to ours, but remember that the ARNE & CARLOS channel on RUclips is verified, and we have a ☑behind our name. This checkmark guarantees that our identity is confirmed by RUclips and that this is our official channel. RUclips will never give out a second checkmark to any other account with our name on it. You will always see this checkmark behind our name in anything we post - including comments. We only have one RUclips Channel, and we will NEVER contact random people in the comments to tell them they have won a prize in anything. Usually, if we run a giveaway, we will ALWAYS announce the winner in a video and ask them to contact us. We have now reported the scammers to RUclips and ask that you do the same if you see any replies like that. Thanks for your help!

I learned to knit when I was about five years old by watching a lady sitting facing me who was knitting. As a result, I could only knit jersey stitch because I knitted back and forth, never turning the work. When I was about 12yo, my mother asked me why I was knitting left-handed and I thought that was silly because you use both hands.... anyway, the result of knitting back and forth always in knit stitch - to the right and then to the left - is a jersey stitch that slightly zigzags. The knitted stitches are not completely straight up. I have never liked purling which my mother said I needed to do to make the end result straight, but now I knit and purl Norwegian style and love it. Thanks Arne and Carlos for your fun, entertaining and useful videos.

I’m so glad I watched this video! I’m a novice knitter and am just learning the long tail cast on. I thought I was doing it wrong because I’d let go of the tail to snug the stitch on my needle. It’s reassuring to see someone so skilled as Carlos doing the same thing! I’ve been practicing… my Mom used to say “Do it a thousand times and you’ll learn how”… and it’s getting easier to do it without letting go. Still… I’ve stopped feeling badly when I need to sort out my stitches or my tension. Thank you so much!

I still get in a tizzy when I'm under stress but if I remember to slow down it gets better if I remember things from knitting . I have enjoyed this video. It was relaxing for me even though there was a lot going on. I wasn't concerned about learning the new longtail cast-on, so I didn't have to concentrate. I have been using the traditional longtail cast-on for so long that I have muscle memory for it now. I knew if I tried to learn Arne's new way for it that I might lose that memory (or get it out of its mind tray 🥴), so I just watched the knitting casually. here I am - only 1:47 minutes into the lesson and already I have to stop for a good laugh! I watch with the subtitles below (cc) turned "ON" and sometimes the words shown there don't match what is actually spoken. Here is one of the funniest examples I have seen: When Carlos talks about his "mantra" the subtitles below show the phrase "mind tray". I realize I too, have a "mind tray" - though it is not my "mantra" - I will probably never think of the "mantra" again without getting a laugh. My "mind tray" is overflowing but I keep squeezing more in - and you guys sure do help with that! Love the channel, thank you so much! ----- P.S. "cc" translates the Arne and Carlos club to the "Arden College Club" - which I do find amusing but not as funny as The New Term: "mind tray". Well, I have finished watching this and I will be back with needles and yarn in hand to follow along and actually practice this lesson in knitting. Thanks, again.

I had to go back and forth several times, plus reduce the speed in the settings, but I got it. It is the purl stitch done the Norwegian way. I noticed I needed to add a step where I went under the yarn before pulling through, otherwise I made 2 stitches like a YO. That's a really great cast on for every time I do a rib stitch. Thanks guys! I have converted to doing most of my current projects in Norwegian knit and purl. I am getting better at it, as I find it a wonderful way to work without switching from front to back with the lead thread. I am actually left handed and knit right handed in throwing on right... Switching up to colourwork forced me to try knitting with the lead thread on the left, but I couldn't get comfortable with the. Continental /english combo. Norwegian style feels alot nicer, even if i still need to work on when to switch the colours on the left to switch thr floats at thr back. This is definitely one I will attempt on my next rib start.
