Hey Danny thanks for the video during this time I'm glad this is a healthy outlet for you. I'm sorry about milo, but we can all agree that you were the BEST mom to little bendy. I hope this doesn't bother you, but we're all here for you & love you! Thanks 4 the update ! Much 🖤, Brandi
Great information as always. I have 2 Montana Spirit Big Sky Catleya seedlings and so far they seem to like what I'm doing. I have 1 in a mixture of bark and lyca and the other in a mix of moss and bark. Just trying to see which they like best. Thanks again for the update. 😁
Hello from Brazil. The Cattleya walkeriana does not like much moisture, it needs to let the media completely dry before the next watering, and it prefers to be planted on wooden stumps with a little bit of sphagnum.
"s/a" probably means "semi-alba" (though I think I've come across more often "s.a." as the abbreviation".) The "Cerro Verde" appears to be an awarded variety.
Hi Danny, thank you for the lovely video! And I also hope you're feeling a lot better, sending lots of love and emotional support your way! P.s. Would you believe after a few years of being your subscriber it was only recently that I have bought my first set of cattleyas? 😂 (and seedlings at that!) wish me luck! Hope I don't kill them 😅😁 Thank you for being an inspiration :)
Do you use Seramis (just the larger pieces of clay, not including the bark)? Have you ever done so? I just started growing ALL of my orchids in it - very expensive to get 50L to the USA, but after boiling once and rinsing twice, then using it - I LOVE IT, and it is worth every penny. I know you used to use it (in Romania) but I haven’t seen you use it since the big move. Why or why not? (I use RO water exclusively to water my orchids). I live I a very similar climate to yours, too. I follow your advice, and it has done very well for me.
Thank you for this video on catteleya seedlings .please make video on how to and how often to fertilize them. From northeast India

Danny, put your Walkeriana and Aclandiae with the vandas they love high light just like vandas! Mine are in 50% shade cloth all day!!! Ps: Mine are all mounted.
hey Danny, would you advise microwaving moss and bark to sterilise them before before potting up seedlings in those? I've had really odd root rot (the roots 1st turrn dark grey then die) since a few years on many of my seedlings (but also on my pleiones...), even on media kept on the dry side, so I'm seriously starting to think that the fungus or bacteria responsible for this comes with either the bark (orchiata) or sphagnum....
in january i deflasked some catts coming direcly from tailand... how many years do you thik it will take for them to be mature? I have many other plants but I cant' wait to see them in bloom =)
This video reminds me of a question I have re. medium changes depending on weather. Do you think that negative results in leca became more pronounced because of the increase in heat + dryness because of summer? Trying to find an ideal potting medium that works in summer AND winter in my environment is a bit tricky, but I also don't want to have to repot every shifting season and set the orchids back.
Hey! Did you observe these signs in other (blooming size) cats? In this case, was it just few individuals or was it a general observation? Thank you for all your precious contents
Hey Danny, the cattleya walkeriana should always be unifoliate, unless it is a teeny tiny seedling with primary leafs, right?? Seems like yours is too big to have bifoliate leafs... 😮😮 Btw, love your videos 😜😜
I purchased 10 cattleya seedlings out of 10 I killed 8 but I cared 2 expensive seedlings and gave mor3 time than other 8 finally other 8 died those rest 2 survived

I have to agree on the walkeriana being fussy. I have mine in a traditional organic setup and they are stalled out. Great video.

Parece que não sou o único brasileiro por aqui
Não mesmo, but i will put it out side with the vandas, Walkerianas love briiight light just like vandas!!!
But seedlings dont usually act like adult plants. So a lil bit more moisture might help
if the baby vandas are still there i would like to see a video on that. thanks Danny

Love your videos. Thank you! What is Lica potting material? Looks round.
Hello Danny can you do a video on how to prepare Leca and what you put in it to lower the ph . Thank you .X💕

That’s a good approach! Especially if you’re using untraditional media.

My dendrobium orchid developed brown roots in leca !!! What to do ???
Oh and a de-flasking video would be outstanding!!!!

She has a complete video talking on orchid medium pros and cons... Nearly all commercially available medias included

Hi, no only the seedlings, the mature ones are not showing deficiencies :)
