Pretty sure the reason people keep comparing Cid’s identities (shadow, John smith, and y’all know) is because for each of his identities, he shifts his personalities and assigns each one a specific amount of strength and fighting skills, even though he could use every other skills of the other identities, so since he assigns each identity a specific amount of strength to use, they’d technically be comparable when it comes to fighting, an example is Shadow and John Smith, for Shadow, his best strength is in his sword skills, but for John, his best strength is his intelligence, even though John can use the same sword skills and Shadow can use the same intelligence, Cid just assigns specific personalities for each identity as he likes to roleplay rather a lot, which technically makes the identities comparable.
Yeah, this definitely motivated me to start writing that John Smith FF. I'll be going back to the slums now to start thinking about how to actually make it work out....
