  • Genetic testing for gluten - www.glutenfreesociety.org/dna...
Most people think think that gluten sensitivity is the same thing as celiac disease. The reality is, is they’re not the same thing.
We can make this statement: everyone with celiac disease is gluten sensitive. We cannot make this statement: everyone with gluten sensitivity will develop celiac disease. Gluten sensitivity and celiac disease are not the same thing. Think of it like this, gluten sensitivity is not a disease. It is a state of genetics. You either have the gluten sensitive genes, or you don’t.
If you have them, and you eat gluten, then your body views gluten as an enemy, and it mounts an immune response. For some people, that immune response leads to intestinal damage. That’s celiac disease. For some people, that immune response does not lead to intestinal damage. For some people, that immune response leads to neurological damage. It leads to liver damage. It leads to skin damage. It leads to pancreatic damage. For some people, it leads to thyroid problems and thyroid damage. For some people, the problem leads to joint pain, joint damage, diseases like lupus and rheumatoid arthritis, and dermatomyositis, etc.
Keep those things in mind as we take a deep dive into the hidden symptoms of gluten sensitivity!

I do remember just before I was diagnosed with graves deceased, I used to cough after my lunch break, which include a whole grain bread and peanut butter sandwich. I’m so glad, I found out I was sensitive to gluten before my doctor wanted to radiate my thyroid. I was able to heal myself and save my thyroid without synthetic medication.

It's true that gluten sensitivity caused by genetics and immune responses can disrupt our internal organs and after several years can lead to chronic diseases such as what I have witnessed in a 55 yo Singaporean who has psoriatic arthritis, depression, and in the past one year also diabetes. However, he stubbornly refuses to remove grains or to change to a low carb diet after 3 weeks on it.
My greetings from Singapore again Dr Osborne. You look smart and professional in your blue shirt and tie.
👍As usual, this video content is extremely well structured, comprehensive and thorough with easy to understand details and citations. 👏
I remember watching a video by you about dairy products. If I like to share that I have a high degree of addiction to dairy especially my favourite homemade milkshakes, cheeses, butter, ghee and yogurt, what advice do you have for me?
Dairy is my number 1 comfort food that I add other foods to different types of dairy, other than dark chocolate and raw meat. Milkshakes are my evenings go-to before bedtime. I just find it hard to give up dairy but I am in excellent health, looking 20 years younger.
    What's your suggestion please?

Been gluten free now since May 2023 and feel as much better, but not 100% cured of SIBO. Still struggling with gut issues and food sensitivity, but now I know the importance of being gluten free. You are a fabulous teacher! I discovered you a few months ago and have learned so very much. I have suffered from dysphagia for years, heart arrythmias, steatorrhea, bloating. I have helped quell much of the gastro, going low carb and mostly gluten free. I say mostly as I had no idea about corn, rice etc containing gluten proteins. My question, you have cardiologists on your board, can PACs, SVTs and a mild LAD and even occasional night dyspnea be connected to gluten. Believe it or not I am fit, do workouts (around my arrhythmias) and am willing to do what it takes but is there help for hearts in your schooling?

I went cold turkey, and I don’t have any disease or problems that I know about.
55, my blood is normal and ok no problems.
So, I have friends with many health problems.
I read the book, why do I still have symptoms? If my blood test says I’m normal.
I quit for one year, I was the paleo and Mediterranean diet combo diet.
I felt strange when I quit, my body was wanting bread, almost everything with gluten.
About 4 into the diet I felt great, I slept better, and I was happy, I mean I really feel better on the gluten-free diet.
I remember to gluten for one week, I ate what other people around me.
1, toilet problems. It came out like peanut butter.
    2, pressure in my stomach
3, constant ringing in my ears
4, feeling very hot before I go to sleep and waking up very cold.
    5, cravings
6, waking up at night many times.
7, sex, not want sex as much,
    8, feeling tired.
    Stay way,
now I will eat a little on just, holidays
I treat it like junk food now.

PLEASE 🙏🏼 has anyone had/heard of 'blackouts' from gluten intolerance?
    They always occur after eating.
I get sudden-onset extreme fatigue, to the point of being weak and lethargic and barely able to keep my eyes open, and then from one minute to the next, I'll just black out -- and I could be out for HOURS (I'm not talking about a brief syncope episode.)
I've tested my blood pressure and sugar during these episodes and they're both fine. It's something else and nobody can figure out what it is.
I also considered that it could be due to MCAS or low potassium, but neither of us really seem to fit so much either, and now I'm looking into gluten as a possibility.

@@carousel... to be honest I'm not sure, but I actually never knew that I actually have a problem with milk until I was having chronic constipation after I started drinking it a lot , and the doctor gave me pure lactose to drink, and I was crying out of pain ,it was horrible, and next week I'm going to the doctor to actually test for food sensitivities and intolerance , we actually have it in My dads side, anyway what I'm trying to say is ,maybe you can actually try the fodmab diet, it's where you illuminate foods that people mostly have a problem with, and then introduce each one and see if you're reacting to it or not , the first one actually is dairy because its so common, but if you suspect other things you can go to a doctor or a nutritionist and tell them about your diet, after all I'm not a doctor , I can only give you advice from what I've seen and been through and know , hope you're OK and good luck with your health journey 😊😊

“On rare occasions, CFD can also result from mutations in the FRα gene [5,6,7],
but the most common cause of low CSF folate in CFD is the presence of anti-folate receptor antibodies (FRAb) that can block folate transport across the choroid plexus [8,9].
A recent report has identified mutations in the ◾️CIC transcription factor gene in children diagnosed with CFD syndrome.
Mutations in the CIC gene decrease the expression of FRα to reduce folate transport across the choroid plexus [10].
No abnormalities of the FRα gene are found in ASD, but a majority of these children are positive for FRAb and have low CSF folate [11,12].
This is a priori proof that FRα is the primary transporter of folate into the brain under physiologic folate status.
