Props to the new editing (not watched a vid for a while that isn't a weekly news update). A proper intro for new people is good to see, multiple angles was seamless. Loved this channel for years but seems to have a new feel to the content. Much more personable. And i like it. Great work and content as always.
Interesting. You're the first youtuber I've come across mentioning Boxx in such a casual manor. Came here for the case review, took note because I have recently picked up a RenderPro from Boxx(old 2014 model) and had never before heard of that company. Props, and a thumbs up.
@@xephael3485 What are you talking about? Multiple PSUs, motherboards, cooling, local storage and RAM makes the price go up up up, not to mention the efficiency loss from having multiple systems (power draw) vs one or not having to think about PCIe lanes for interconnects and flash to have some semblance of running a single system. I've been in this position and was wanting to go with multiple Ryzens on a vSphere system (there's a pretty cheap trial license meant for testing but perfect for the homelab) for redundancy, but the math just didn't work out in the end. Biggest deal breaker was the PCIe lanes though because I wanted to go all flash AND go >100gbit through cheap 2nd hand mellanox nics. Must clarify that I was looking at a 3970x vs 4 3700, 64 cores would be too much for my use haha
I would love to hear more about the Vagrant + Selenium stuff and also the other software developing stuff. I use Vagrant every day but have not yet gotten in to using Selenium.
Wendle, I've followed you all the way from Tek Syndicate days. When you left, I left. Will always appreciate your humor and knowledge. Sincerely a tech moron.
I often reference your channel, and watch your content religiously. I was subscribed to you but strangely I had to resubscribe to you today. Either way I guess I'm a "new" sub lol
I was going to buy the define7XL earlier this year to house my unraid server that has a whole bunch of HDDs in it, but I couldnt get hold of any of those expansion brackets then. Its been half a year and they're still nocht back in stock anywhere in europe as far as I can tell. I know there is a pandemic going on, but it still seems weird....
Just ordered it , cant wait ! Also I have Cooler Master vertical GPU v3 4.0 and 300mm not the 165mm cable , plus 6 X 140 Noctua max 3000RPM , plus 7 x Artic p14 max . Fractal Design Meshify 2 XL Full-Tower Case (Black, Light Tint Tempered Glass)
You've probably answered this numerous times, but what's the deal with your presentation table? Butcher block+standing frame? Dimensions? Waiting on a Jarvis frame for my 74"x39"x1.5" solid Birch top right now. Like the new presentation style!
I love it when new Wendel videos pop up..... HEY WENDEL!!! I'm wondering if you're excited about the M! with Linux? Hope you are I'm excited to see what you do with it.
I do often transport my PC's in my car to/fro work or to my girlfriends house. They are my workhorses, and I dont use them for serving so don't need them sitting in one place. I currently have 2 threadripper builds in corsair 780 cases with dual 360 radiators (everything is quite tight but managable with some organisational effort). They just about fit in the back seat of the car without too much hassle. These are great looking cases but I would think they are too big for transporting in a car (you'd need a van or SUV). The added volume this case provides would potentially be great for >2 GPU setups (with watercooling loops) or perhaps clusters of 3.5 HDDs, I personally do not need this, and I would opt for a NAS setup instead (utilizing the secondary onboard NIC). Not sure if people would be better off going toward a rackmount solution if they indeed needed this amount of space -- is there a unique selling point that I am missing?
Water-cooled computers are usually set them and forget them. You don't really want to be lugging all that copper and water around. I had forgotten about Wendell's wheel mod. I need this for my Casemod. Event if I just get the stationary pads, the stance widening would make it much more stable.
Hi, could you please tell me if an Arctic Liquid Freezer II 420 would fit in the top on this case ? I have clearance issues with my current Enthoo Pro, I had to unscrew the top of the chassis to fit the rad+fans....or else it would hit the VRM heatsink. By looking at your build, I think there would be no problem at all with this case, considering I need about 8cm to be completely okay. Can you confirm that ? Thank you !
I think I'll completely tear down my grandkids computer again just to do some spray painting on the Noctua poop brown, beige art deco vomit. Lets see what else i can break!
Does the Aorus trx40 xtreme fit into this case? I find it quit frustrating that officially support for this motherboard is not really existing in modern cases even though it would fit, like in the lian li od11 xl case.
I like the looks of the Define 7 XL more but I like the idea of having better airflow in the Meshify 2 XL. If I put in a ton of Noctua NF-A12x25 fans (and possibly watercool later on) will it really matter? Which is the better case?
I just got a Define 7 XL as I needed the 5¼ bays, seriously though would it of killed Fractal to of included a HDD LED as these can be storage focused builds?

I have it also and will build a similar setup like he tomorrow. The only downside is that sometimes dirt goes through the top filter when my cat sit on the top.
Does anyone know if the side panel is swappable with a Define 7 XL? I want the solid metal w/sound deadening material inside. I don't need to look and see what is inside. I just want a little extra quiet if I can get it.
Hope you are proud of you Wendell, pretty sure some fathers out there just spent 20 minutes explaining to their children, they should not try to put their fingers into 1000RPM spinning computer fans after they listened to you and wanted to try the same thing lol
Try the non-meshify version of this case or the non-XL version, or any of the earlier R series Fractal design cases. I’ve got an R6 and it’s silent with an 8700k and a 1070. Or look at BeQuiet cases.
Big case but not big enough to accommodate a thick radiator. Too bad they never thought of it. When you go big, go all the way or go home. I wish there was one case that can accommodate 480mm radiators (that are also thick) on all sides at the same time.
go figure i just put together a system in a meshify S2 end of july, then they release these new ones....maybe someone will be interested in buying it, or ill just build a second system in it
Lol every time I’m like yuck who would build in such a large case! Then you mention the rad support and I start drooling. Ohh well my ancient 280MM keeps my old i7 6800K and 5700XT below 55C.
Are the holes in the sweater from the "thread ripper"?
😂😂😂😂
Its fun to see fractals in the back
It’s a great design!
The intros are getting stronger!
Thank you :) ~ Editor Amber

I've been waiting for this! Perfect case for a home NAS
That case is so much more practical than the Corsair 1000D.
I've been hoping for a meshify version of the XL, cool

When I open RUclips and Level1 and GN have a video about the same case...
Also I want to build a threadripper just because of your videos...not really because I need to.
I'm looking at this case for a dual socket Talos II.
Lian-Li 4.0 PCIE Riser is what i ended up using to replace the PCI-E 3.0 mount for mine
Still rocking the R5, even got the tempered glass side panel fractal sells for it now.
Can I do a 420 rad in front and another 420 rad at the top?

My Define R6 is feeling smol.
@Level1Techs any chance you're going to get your hands on the new Intel/EK peltier?

Pushing hot air inside? WHY?
@Wendell from a dB at the same temps standpoint an air flow case is quieter than a sound dampened case

Love my original Meshify!
I have the mesh 2 because I have huge hands and need space
What is that bracket that connects your fan to your pump? I need one of those.
I want the non tempered glass one. And I want them to sell wheel adapters you printed
This case looks perfect for an IceGiant build, no?
Need a non tempered glass version .. please please please
"meant for air flow, not quiet operation" but Steve says air flow can make it more quiet!
Named after 2XL, the wisecracking toy robot
Looks like a nice upgrade from the Corsair P900D because who the hell needs 5¼" mounting options (or, hell, 3.5") anymore
Anyone know a source for the type B trays? I was going to buy one of these for my NAS server, but nobody seems to have the trays.
Amazing case!
I love it when new Wendel videos pop up..... HEY WENDEL!!! I'm wondering if you're excited about the M! with Linux? Hope you are I'm excited to see what you do with it.
I'd buy a 3990X but it gets flattened in memory intensive AVX2/512 workloads by my Xeon, atleast 64 cores looks cool.
WILL my 6800 xt work in this case if mounted as normal and no external mount bracket ?
