Even though I'm from Ohio and we get snow/ice here, I've never heard of it being a standard thing to put a drain in your garage floor. When talking to a friend who lived in Alaska...it's common to have a heated garage as well as a floor drain because of the extreme cold temps they have there. That "could" in part be what it is for but I still wonder if it's not for access to something deep down, like sewer drain or water supply. If it was a repair you'd think it would be re-concreted.
The problem with putting videos out on Instagram, no audio on my desktop computer. That appears to be a failing of Instagram and the reason I don't use it.

Yep. The kind of guy that would help you fix your car, get your furnace working, and smoke a cigar and drink beers with you talking about the war. Now, the garage will be lucky to contain a screwdriver and a hammer, because the new owner shuffles papers in an office somewhere and never cleaned grease from his fingernails.

Friendly tip: Temperature guns only read surface temp. To get an accurate read on the actual air temp, you would need something like a temp probe.

Love that cleaning…..I’m sending this to a crew I’ve worked with who just think cleaning up after remodel is done (or job) is way to go. Me, I 100% disagree w/ them. Yep, everyone has opinions, but ya gotta clean and keep things clean, makes everything better.

For anyone that knows demo, this is awesome. When you methodically take things apart you maximize space in your dumpster (Tell em how much is is to rent that bin). It's also safer than the shows you watch where they just start swinging that Collins axe around. You saw how Handy took down that loft carefully, not to shear off the electrical box on the post and when he was ready for it to come down, it landed safely away from him.
Best of all, sweeping up the mess at the end. God dam I hate piles of trash on my job sites and my customers stepping on nails. There's no book on doing demolition just common sense. Arty the one man party, doing it in shorts, clean as a whistle.
And on a side note today with the price of wood we are salvaging a lot of the lumber for future projects.
Handyman, you gotta sling that sledge. Put some back into it 😁

Its a huge project it is 2 projects in one. The garage and the master bedroom. Since they share a wall and all the electrical runs through the future bedroom I'm doing both at the same time.
That floor is awesome
Grew up with swamp coolers living in the desert of CA out by 29 Palms. Got up to about 130 in the summer and the swamp cooler always kept us nice snd cool.

I used to rent a house that had a door in the garage floor just like that. It went to a secret crawl space for another part of the house that had been added on.

Neat locking system on that one door that has the board that slides infront of the door. Lmao 🤣 maybe the guy kicking the door in will have his foot go through the door hitting the board breaking their ankle.

swamp coolers work in Arizona except for monsoon season when the humidity is too high (and we're talking 15-20%). I can't imagine a swamp cooler in Oregon.
