Let's be real, most people will not even come close to 4000 netto a month in the Netherlands. Average salaries are 3000 before taxes, which roughly will come down to 2000 after. Amsterdam is unaffordable for most people.
@@TheMovementHub I live in the Netherlands. I work 36 hours per week at McDonalds and I make more than 2000€. And it is close to minimum wage so people here are making way more than that. I live here, I know what I am talking about.
My two cents as a Dutchman, expatriated to different countries on this planet and now working and residing in SE Asia for the last 6 years: Never compare the median salary in any country with your salary as an expat in that particular country. The sole reason for being expatriated to another country, is because you are to bring more value for the role, than a local person would. That is the rule and therefore it doesnot make sense to mention the median salary in the Netherlands, as most expats will earn more, far more than that. I more than tripled my salary, when moving to SE Asia, for a role that could not be done by any local here. It is also the reason why I got the Employment Pass and Residence here in SE Asia, as the company has to prove that you are needed and that the role cannot be done by a local here.
I love it really helpful videos! I am planning on learning dutch and then move there to work in the Information Security field. thank you very much @the movement hub!
I think they are quite conservative about Amsterdam expenses The rent is a huge problem if you are lucky. Usually the rental companies will ask to see proof your salary is 5 times than a month's rent. In Amsterdam an average rent is at least 1700 euros so unless you have a partner working a great job you cant get a rental. You need to cook at home to make ends meet Tram and public transport is expensive so consider having a bycicle They mentioned they just make ends meet. I lived in Amsterdam for 3 months and it was enough I think is great to take the car or train and experience it for the day instead of renting or living there
But why did you come here if you knew that already? I don't understand all the expats. Is it to show off on your C.V. that you've worked/lived here? 😏 It's very expensive to live here, and tbh: we don't really need you folks to come here. We have had enough of all the foreigners. It's only becoming more and more overcrowded.
I bought an apartment in 2008 for 131 000 in Amsterdam. My monthly mortgage was 250,00 per month but i had to sell it for reasons. I'm considering to move to Spain.
Love your episodes. Have you interviewed any Brits as yet? Interested to hear about their views specially if they have moved since Brexit. I'm thinking of moving later this year depending on a few jobs.
Hi Tony. Thanks a lot for your comment. Makes me happy to hear that you enjoy it. Unfortunately I don't have any Brits in my interviews for Amsterdam. The next thing that I am focusing on is editing the Berlin and Prague series. Although there are still several topics left to publish for Amsterdam.
@@TheMovementHub oh. I guess it's more about getting how hard it easy it was getting sponsorship and the whole process and fitting in to the area. Just like you did with Amsterdam stories.

@@rolandmenyhart7655Not most people. Some people.
1000 Euro tax it's crazy it's so much. But in order to take 4000 netto you must work In the company 10 years
@@rolandmenyhart7655So minimum it's 17 euro an hour there?

@@TheMovementHub Ah ok. hopefully some brits on your berlin and prague videos. keen to hear their stories of moving and effects of brexit for them.
Definitely in the Prague series. Is there anything specific in regards to Brexit that you would like me to ask?

Okay I see. Gotchu there
Thanks for the series of videos

Native Amsterdam residents intensely dislike expats
25 years in Netherlands, and can't speak a word of dutch... Rediculous
And why would you think that she doesn't speak Dutch?
@ Misschien wel, waarom interview je ze in het Engels?
Omdat het hele kanaal is gemaakt voor een internationaal publiek
Zodat azijnpissers als jij wat te zeuren hebben 😘
Expats? You mean immigrants?
