Hey Bro,, cool invention alternative.. Listen it can be 99.9 percent smoth,, just sand it with 600 or greater grit,, really fine,,, I copied your design and did the sanding and buffing with rubbing compound and that did the trick,, same as the one from magicwand place.. Love your spunk brother.... keep it up.. Gracias Mi Hermano.. ----- Double-J-Solutions Raleigh, North Carolina...
Awesomeeee... I will be making one soon. We need more diy projects like this because we are getting ripped off on products like this. Someone need to home make a crb too. I feel like those are overpriced as well. Thanks bro
like the video. Been making my own for 9+ years now for a wand that has no name. Getting one was not really an option so had to build one. I use a drill press and milling bit to make the slots. To polish out the drilling and milling steel wool works great. I also use the two putty epoxy to close the ends and it holds it stable when in use. Help it helps if it's of use to ya. Again great video.
Aperture cleaning the purpose of a glide if so that the wand easily glider slides across the carpet. when using the truck mount the suction can sometimes make it difficult to slide the wand when cleaning.
I've been wanting a glide for years but the cleaning supply store in my town want $150 for one which is outrageous. Ordering one online is a gamble if it will fit and still pricey. I'll use my drill press to drill the holes and a 1/4 inch milling bit to make the slots. Thanks!
Thanks for sharing, i can not believe the price. I am the same way, you over charge, I will built it myself or do it myself. $25 and $50 would have been expensive but bare able.
Glad you guys liked the video. I forgot to mention after everything is done the pipe glide has to be smoothed out with a sand paper or you can use the grinder with a sanding disk to smooth it out.
Hey Jacob I did the same thing, I will make it easy if you use a vice, you'll get more support and the holes can be done better. great safe of 120 buck bro.
This works but a better way to do this would be to buy some ptfe (teflon's technical name ) rod and cut a notch in it with a table saw then make your holes. You can also buy tpfe pipe and do the same process you are doing in the video but with actual Teflon .
You probably don’t run anything bigger than a 45 blower. The type of wand you run also determines the lock you have on the carpet. Tufftex carpet is found in higher end homes and is incredibly dense. I would hate cleaning without a glide.
@Jacob Alvarado, thanks for your videos, i live in the Island of Madeira (Portugal) and am in the process of starting my own cleaning company so your videos are very helpful. I have a question tough, instead of cutting the pvc pipe to the length of the tool would extending the pvc pipe 1 or 2 inches either side not provide a bigger cleaning tool or by doing this would it not suck up the water effectively?
+EcoQuemica Limpeza-Jardim-Manutencao The spray jets have a spray jet angle so that when the cleaning solution is sprayed down onto the carpet, it is not normallly sprayed beyond the width/length of the cleaning tool.
+spideymikespideymike yeah, after i posted the question i thought of that but then i though you could adjust the angle on the sprayers but i guess that will just not work effectively. Thanks for the reply
+EcoQuemica Limpeza-Jardim-Manutencao Hey bro, the glide significantly reduces the friction of pushing the wand over carpeting. It makes work much easier and saves your back. Carpeting can hold up to one pound of debris per foot so you really do not want to go fast if you care about doing a thorough job. I've been professionally cleaning for 10+ years and this glide is absolutely brilliant. If you have any questions concerning HWE or VLM carpet cleaning, I would be more than happy to share tips and tricks. www.HowellsCarpetCleaning.com

+Jacob Alvarado You know you can reply to their actual comment, right?

Grinder withflap disk would destroy this thing! Also wont the heat make it too maluble?
@@troymccoy7012 also curious wont the hot water morph the pvc?

I like it. Brilliant idea. I am going to make one for my self

Yes, but isn’t buying it just as expensive as buying a glide? I tried this and the stock was more expensive than just buying a glide
Hi Jacob, awesome video I love the idea it will definitely be something I will do. I am just curious what size drill bit you used to make the holes?
Great thanks for sharing 😎 bro
I have never seen or heard about glides it’s looks nice but I’ve never had the wand be that hard to throw around when cleaning

Forgot to add
Cut the piece longer than needed. Then attach to a board to cut the long slot to fit on the wand. I use a Dado blade for this
Clever....thanks for sharing Bro!
have you done a dirt sucker ? for area rugs?
AlbertOne3 Gonzale not sure what that is.

Thank you for your help
good idea to save money with a carpet cleaning wand
Great Video !
What type of glue did you use?
you forgot to mention what schedule to purchase. This will not work if you use a schedule 125 PVC.
Or spend the cash and get one made to fit that works and lasts 5 times longer...But feel free to approve of this hacker...
hey I just have a question do you speak Spanish
Of course he does
Claro el vato es mojado
MC S lol 😂
Has anyone tried this?
my aerotech xt would melt that pipe off the wand in less than a min, and it would get that bathroom/br carpet much cleaner than that
Bought ryobi - a day in the fuck. It's just that in Russian it rhymes funny "ryobi" "v proyobe"
Excelente dica.
NICE TRICK!!!!!
buena idea gracias
Is doing so infringing on any intellectual property?
it's a tube for cleaning area rugs instead of using a wand
useless idea- last only a few jobs-lol
Cool, your a wild man. ;-(]}
