I remember watching a interview of someone who works on a ac130 and he can't play that mission because it perfectly captures the feeling of being a gunner on an AC 130. Out of every game that has depicted combat he says that one mission got it perfectly from the time of the reloads to the sound to the stuff said over the radio.
13:28 I just watched an interview with the scripter of the map and he wanted to finish the mission where the next one started with setting up the nest and other things but he ran out of time so mission ends with you outside the building with a fade to black.

It would be awesome if a old COD Dev would volunteer to explain half of the things that happen in the campaign. Especially those pigs, also the random machine gun outside of the map. My guess is that, that machine gun was on one of the trucks in the beginning of the mission and then the Devs just moved it there never expecting anyone to use it or find it.
I tried to reach out to Infinity Ward on my Twitter and Instagram to get some answers for the 'hidden rooms' on Epilogue. Hopefully they may respond but I wouldn't like to bet on it. I'd say you're right about the machine gun on Charlie Don't Surf. I was thinking the same, that it's left over from the opening sequence.

They wanted to do the best FPS that players like to have, with open/free SDK, private servers on Linux, mod capabilities, free update and free map-pack, etc.. at the surprise of all this game was so successful that Bobby K. and Mike G. wanted to get the stuff back to make it profitable and make more money, but IW devs had every rights on it (that's why the next game has "World at War" name and was built with a modified CoD4 engine). so he made some nasty things (weird investigations, false accusations, harassment in private life, degradation of working conditions, delay in payments, etc.) for make them quit; When a founder of IW devs left, the new replacement dev hasn't the same rights (new devs has not any rights at all lol). Daniel Villanueva MW3. It’s the mission after you capture Volk. There is one like it in spec ops were it takes the quarry from Diamond in a Rough (2nd to last mission in MW3) and puts one person in an AC-130 and another player on the ground. But yeah I wish they made it like MW3’s AC-130 mission
About Mile High Club: in the prototype version of this mission, the plane was a bit different and actually contained these rooms :D (there are videos about it), so i guess this is just a leftover from there And 2:30-2:32: the car sound is actually reused form CoD1 :D
The cinema room on Mile High Club was most likely left over because MHC was supposed to be part of the actual storyline at one point but was scrapped and reworked as a bonus mission with no context. It's likely left over designs and textures that Activision didnt remove
One of the best parts of cod 4 was exploring outside the multiplayer map boundaries because a lot of the maps are huge with tons of terrain you can walk on, but you would never know.

Thanks for the vid. The amount of work that was done in this work in terms of storyline and the environment of each level clearly shows. Something a lot of other call of duty’s lack. In 2007 it felt like you were playing something that could happen irl and it still does someone explain that.
Those were the days man, I remember playing it with a graphics emulator, I didn't have a card. It glitched a lot allowing me to see through walls and what not.

That last mistery room... i somehow managed to get inside i don't know how but i when i went there where is no floor... i instantly died... soo i didn't look the room too much.... never ever managed to do that again.... Aldo that's my favorite mission in whole CoD history

lol, when i played COD 4 MW remastered, i found out, that in England there are normal cars.... not the one with steering on the right xD and COD Black ops is funny too, with a basic noclip, you reveal a lot of broken wrists, pre-thrown grenades, twited knees or flying pistols inside a moving vehicle :D or Headless MAson xD
I still think a version of the AC130 mission where you play on the ground would be a badass mission, with the more open map and larger scale battle it would be a legendary one.

I am studying cod4 for 8 years as I make missions for it so it's my job to explore how original missions are made so I can use similar tricks in mine. I watched this video just in case I learn something new and I pretty much knew everything you shown xD The cinema room however, I did notice it before and I think you forgot to show that it was right below the plane front tip. My guess is that the plane was supposed to be fully explorable but they saw they didn't have time to fully build it so they cut out areas. The front tip was probably made half so that's why it's missing floors and everything. And I doubt it even means anything. It was just passenger seats for the front of the plane. And the "meeting" room right before it, it's nothing different than the first rooms of the playable area where you also see meeting rooms.
How do you do this? Cause when I use noclip, I can’t noclip on death from above. Won’t let me move away from the camera position. So I guess it isn’t noclip?
I actually found one you missed. In an area in The Coup, you can find 2 tanks by the side of the road. Noclipping under these 2 tanks reveals a 3rd tank hidden underneath the map.
In call of Duty MW3, we see a cut scene with Makarov in the van next to Zakhaev when Price blows his arm off, is it possible you can zoom all the way up to the van and see if Makarov is in the van? He would be the driver.
I remember you could go on spectator mode when you were playing Local and you can literally explore the whole map. Sadly, call of duty games today don’t have this mechanic anymore. I mean in theater mode you could but not as open anymore
3:57 I assume if the boat was rocking, it would be a lot of extra hassle making everything do the same. Plus, there’s room for error while doing this, you can have 3D models clipping through each other.

I assume the pigs were there when they mapped the skybox background picture with a 3D camera and then used that scenery to build the backgrounds

fun fact - death from above's level is textured to look like its in thermal vision. the thermal vision is only applied to NPC's
