This one is exactly as described, one of the most iconic drum breaks of all time - The Amen Break! Originally played by Gregory C. Coleman on a track by The Winstons called Amen Brother and then endlessly sampled, recreated and reimagined by drummers and producers! I chose 3 different tempos based on the original track and tracks or genres that have used the break! A lot of you will know this break already but, in my opinion, it's one that every drummer needs to get down! Notation below, enjoy my dudes! Alex

170bpm goes hard
im more of a 167 bpm guy
Easy
@@tl1882oh boy, its breakin' time!
Naturally, I tend to drift to 169bpm.
Dont know why I always do.
Hur dur, I have the lamest joke, 4months at least from the OP.
Woot?
Only the real ones know its 174
it's amazing how one little snippet of a song is responsible for two entire genres of music.
For real, never gets old either haha! Alex 👊
Hip hop and dnd🔥🔥
@@Adam-g-ukno. Hip-hop has its own drums too not just this. He's talking about jungle and breakcore, and dnb (so three I guess)
@@1SSJA bullshit, hip hop was created by djs looping breakbeats on the decks in 1973, if that never happened then jungle / dnb would never exist
@@Adam-g-ukyeah but it wasn’t specificly this beat like it was with jungle and break core. this beat wasn’t sampled in hip-hop until 1983 despite it starting way before that
Breakcore kids feelin' it at the 170
I’m the break core kids 🤗
HELL YEAH I FUCKING LOVE BREAKCORE
me
FUCK YEAH BABBYYYY
How are the four people above, alive?
now do 230 bpm
Breakcore
@@cormacbohren3175 break - your fingers- core
0:00 Hip-Hop/Rap.
0:13 Getting into Drum N Bass/Jungle territory.
0:22 Now we're into Drum N Bass/Jungle territory.
Your comment is absolutely legendary, people nowadays would yap "BREAKCORE!!! RAHHHH"
Slow haves such style. Medium is like a constant in a song. Fast is just the main character that makes the song hit hard and makes me want to play ultrakill.
Can’t see California without marlon Brando’s eyes
My first thought whenever I hear this break
SLIPKNOT!!!! YEAHAAHHHHHHHH LETSSSS GOOOOOOOO 🔥🔥🔥🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑
INSANE
Don't worry about ghost notes, ain't nothin' but rebound!
-Purdie
Makes sense
as a break core fan, im loving this
That one crash on the and of 3 always hits hard😎🔥
I love this break so much. It's such a shame the original session drummer or The Winstons never made any money from this seminal four bars of drumbreak (the drummer Gregory Coleman died homeless and broke).
Yeah man, that is such a shame! I heard they raised a lot of money for his family through GoFundMe but gutting it was so late! Alex 👊
So awesome, great job doing a classic
🙏🙏
NWA, Amen Brother, D&B
Amen brother!
🙏
Best Break Ever
Great job brother
bro excellent video style 👌
Thank you my dude! Stoked you enjoyed it! Alex 👊
i love when he *ultrakilled* that beat!
The drum snippet that started it all.
💯
Great videos man. Keep it up
Why i dont see many people saying that the slow and medium ones are the best
I swear every dave and bambi song has an amen break
Those drums sound good
👊
I like this drumming I think I will use it as a sample in my song
Slow: Safehouse
Medium: Escape
Fast: *ULTRAKILL*
ONG
Bro can I sample this?
Yeah mate, go for it! Will have to send it over if you make anything you put out, would love to hear it! Alex 👊
136 bpm remembered me of Bully for some reason
this is a cool video
After hearing a lot of speedcore song I wanna hear this 200+ Bpm
What snare is that?
Hey dude, it's a 14x 5 Ludwig Supraphonic. Alex
170 Bpm feels like your in the final boss room
slow amen break will always sound better to me idk why
Does sound sick to be fair! Straight outta Compton vibes! Alex 👊
Wait, this is the drum break at the beginning of eyeless by slipknot
ok, cool one
170 bpm feels like a payday 2
"if you have something to say, spit it out already"
me :
it sounds like an ultrakill ost
170 bpm sounds like Dream's speedrun music
i can't believe he made drums a real thing
Avarage gapple fans: THIS GOES SOO HARD OMG I AM IN HEAVEN OMG DEFINETLY BEST SONG EVER S TIER YAAA 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Dave and bambi fans: IS THIS CHEATING?!
The song I'm working on is 194 hehehe
Second one reminds me of Weird Fishes by Radiohead
Drum and Bass 160; bpm 👍😉
powerpuff girls announcing their new episode be like:
'' Uhmm achtually.. the powerpuff girls use a drum sample called ahem.. 'the funky drummer. 🤓''
"fast"
*sees 170 bpm*
*me listening to 400 bpm+ songs*
😂
didnt ask
@@alcestopeth 🤓
@@DrumHubTuition there is somehow no "slipknot - eyeless" that uses the same sample
@@alcestopeth i asked 10 months ago
What about eyeless by slipknot
hakita making ultrakill sound track
170❤
haha searched 'amen break' to check something for production and who pops up
Haha yes mate, that’s sick! Hope you are good my dude! 👊
Hakita thinking a new song for ultrakill
136 is my favorite
ULTRAKILL song!?
Beginning kinda sounds 🟧⬛️
What ride is that?
Zildjian 22” k light 👊
What about 165 bpm
Medium is good
Why does the slow version sound like Radiohead’s Reckoner?
Do it at 155 bpm
Sounds just like a bit of dwumrohl.
Ultrakill devs out of nowhere
All I hear is Powerpuff girls
Always that one guy in the amen comments....
@@Scott-got-caught holy shit this a 1 year old comment, and still what I hear
Fast: uktrakill unstoppable force
There is somehow no "slipknot - eyeless" that uses the same sample
Thats 3 different genres.
170bpm is also powerpuff girls no?
Okay so James Brown ala Clyde Stubblefield... Got it.
This isn't Clyde Stubblefield. It's by a band called the Winston's. Stubblefield did do some brilliant breaks though
Powerpuff girls!
i thought amen break was some thing from christianity. but actually its this. 💀
Makes sense to be fair without context haha, the original tune the beat is sampled from is called amen brother so it just got named the amen break 🔥
Fast is AMEN BREAK BUGS
that last one wasn't even that fast wtb
It is fast, its just that you probably listen to some shitty 200+ bpm breakcore and think "this is good"
the first one gives me ptsd from that one silly hotel from the silly tactical shooter game
