I noticed sections where there's 2 to 3 notes as a chord. Are those considered double and triple stops? Are they literally being played simultaneously as one chord? I know the stringed instruments can play more than one note at a time, but most of the score is single notes, especially the violins. When would a composer know when and where they could use chords that are possible to play? I'm trying to write music for orchestra, and I'd love to understand what's possible and practical to write for Strings. Thank you.
I have, as so many before me, seen and heard the second movement of this wonderful piece many times. This is the first opportunity I've had to read the score of the entire piece with the beautiful strings playing along. Thank you for a delightful experience.
I have played this piece at Orchestra on the viola some years ago (not as the viola leader at the time). The middle movement in C major is absolutely sublime!

How did it go? I'm going to play it at a chamber intensive camp and I love it!

@Stalker Stomper3 most often, you have half the section that plays the upper notes and half that plays the lower

Je n'aime pas ses Pompes mais alors, ses sérénades, quel Délice
오케스트라에서 이곡 연주한다고 몇번을 듣는지 모르겠습니다 박자가 너무 헷갈려요
A beautiful piece
