The warriors locked in a fiery battle, testing each other's mettle while the warchief watches on, eyes full of wisdom, and a solemn stoic expression reflecting his decades of experience in the fighting art, quietly observing and making sure the youngbloods meet the standard of the gauntlet. Finally, the warchief himself rises from his silence, it is time for the final test.
And its not easy to do that with different partners. In most cases the students have a friend/partner for years and all works well, but when they train with an other student most moves wont work and looks not so well...
Great skill-sets! Thank you for sharing. Question: Are there any classes being conducted on Oahu, Hawaii? If so, could you please share location information. Thank you
Arthur Macdonald level 1 has the basics that largely entails the warmup and drills. Level 2 adds more to that with variations and complexities in the drills and footwork. Level 3 means you can receive all the groupings. And defend and counter accordingly. Level 4. You can FEED all the groupings. Level 5 are disarms. And level 6 advanced disarms.
Your footwork reminds me of pekiti tirsia. I'm no expert, but from what I've seen they tend to have a more squared stance and a more tiptoeing, almost dancelike, way of moving. Did you train that style too or is the similarity coincidental? (Or maybe I just have the wrong impression.) Btw, great work! And a wonderful surprise to see GM Taboada at the end!
the red baron but at the same time....they all came from one source and the different expressions come out. GM Bobby has a boxing component to it as he was a boxer/fighter.
Belton Lubas thats what i thought as some styles dont utilize a punch or shoulder stop/push as prominently as i see here but im a fan of all balintawak styles...pugay!
Belton Lubas yes I have always admired Grandmaster taboadas hand skills and he looks like he could still throw a knockout class right cross with no problem at all..thx for the info!
20 yrs ago this art saves my life during a street fight and nearly got me into jail.
Did ur case appear in some newspapers?
why? wanna do a true crime podcast?:)
how I’d wish to at least meet these Balintawak legends like GM Bobby and have a selfie!! much respect!! thanks for continuously sharing the art.

Just look at google , keywords balintawak level 2 or 5 or 6 or 7...then you see the official websites with the "program".
I dont know if other martials arts do this when you go up a belt... but this is tough...

Was that Guro Azeem McDaniel with you before GM Bobby?
yes
kamangha-manghâ!!
fandabidozi !
the real test is with the DOG Brothers..
The students cant still copy how master bobby move... Like how master use his empty hand while his other hand is striking.
Bobby is way better than tabimina no doubt about it.
Raul Ramos they are different in their own ways and have a lot to offer. I respect both for what they do.
