    I bet the superintendent's office is nice and warm.

    Lack of heat is just a symptom of a much bigger problem. America is the richest country in the world yet, it has gone from a manufacturing based economy, to a service economy. With the low wages that go with it, comes the loss of the middle class life. Replaced by poverty. Ridiculous education costs prevents ascension to most. This is the long way of saying....no hope. 8 families hold 93% of the money in the US, while millions of Americans fight for the rest. Welcome to the American oligarchy.

      Take all of jeff bezos money and split it to all americans and each would only get 250$. You won't be able to fix the problem. All you need to do is raise the property tax in baltimore the problem is fixed

    To the people in this comment section calling this irrational: Could you imagine working all day to pay the bills so that your kid gets a proper education, just to find out they aren’t being given the bare minimum? I know that superintendent’s office isn’t freezing cold, so why is it irrational to ask that students are the same?

    Besides the uncomfortable temperature, public schools are well below expectations and have been, by design. Parents.....the best thing to remedy this problem is to co-op home school groups in your area. Your government cannot be in charge of your child!

    Taxpayers in the rest of the state are subsidizing Baltimore's schools, just as they are subsidizing all services for Baltimore's inner city--but it's never enough. It never can be enough because the problem is Baltimore. Far from expressing the slightest gratitude we get tantrums and accusations.

    • @Aelendris
      @Aelendris 7 лет назад +3

      Ramiiam if it is enough, why are the children freezing? >.>

    • @Ramiiam
      @Ramiiam 6 лет назад +4

      Jonathan Reynolds: That's a good question. Baltimore's public schools are closer to the top than the bottom when comparing per-student funding in urban districts. Why do we jump to the conclusion that the problem is that taxpayers in the state and country, who are already subsidizing services in Baltimore, are not giving enough? Is it possible that the problem is mismanagement in Baltimore?

      Because the money is being stolen. They, by law, also must pay about the highest prevailing wage to get any work done. The dollars they haven't stolen don't go as far.

      korzym to be fair, many teachers don’t want to work in Baltimore City. The lack of willing teachers drives up wages.

      You guys may be badmouthing fox news about them covering other serious news but just take a look at CNN and all the other msm and fake news channels and see what they consider more important than your problems like all kinds of demented observations about Trump. Then see how little your issues mean to all those liberals if they are basically having a field day continuously reporting about that idiotic fire and fury book and nothing else.

    What's missing there? Black men. Where are the fathers? What happened to the money? Why aren't they rioting over what the Democrats have done to the(lack of) education of their children? Are they just pissed the "babysitter" has a problem?
    Decades of neglect? By who? Republicans? Keep pulling that Democrat lever, maybe tear down a statue, things are bound to get better.

    This is the wealthiest country in the history of the world. School funding problems go beyond state and local governments; we have to take this fight to Congress and do something about the corrupting influence of private money in our public elections!

      This is NOT the wealthiest country in the world. Stupidity like that is why our country is bankrupt.Please explain to me how a country with 21 trillion in debt is the wealthiest country? PLEASE EXPLAINWe are flat broke because idiots like you have helped to bankrupt our nation

    • @surrealistidealist
      @surrealistidealist 6 лет назад

      Our GDP is over 18.5 Trillion. Our closest competitor China with less than 12 Trillion. We can pay off our debt as soon as we stop wasting our resources, which should be going into education and healthcare, on endless wars and favors for Wall Street donors. Why do you think I'm "stupid" for making suggestions like this?

    These woman are complaining about lack of funding, when all the money is spent on police in order to keep their husbands and sons off the streets. Schools in the worst places in Baltimore have to have security to ensure the schools are safe, while schools elsewhere don't have this problem. Money has to go somewhere, and when security is needed other things suffer

    • @chadescott4766
      @chadescott4766 6 лет назад

      Jamie Dimon that doesn't make any sense

    • @kenbobcorn
      @kenbobcorn 6 лет назад +3

      +Chade Scott, well that is the problem isn't it, people not understanding the problem.

    • @chadescott4766
      @chadescott4766 6 лет назад

      Jamie Dimon the problem isn't violence in the school. Or the fact that funding is spend on keeping farthers and sons in jail. The problem is they spent all of the children's money to build these facilities instead of keeping children warm.

    • @kenbobcorn
      @kenbobcorn 6 лет назад +2

      +Chade Scott, I think you misunderstood my first comment. The reason why cities like Baltimore and Detroit have security at their schools isn't because of violence in schools, it's because of violence in the neighborhoods of these schools. It's no coincidence that cities that require the monetary means to improve their schools, are spending more money on police and crime than cities that don't require additional school funds. If Baltimore didn't have a homicide rate equivalent to that of Honduras, then the city would have additional funds to spend on things that matter. The three main things that bring children out of poverty is safety, two parent households, and better schooling. Anything that improves these three things will improve a city like Baltimore greatly.

    • @Ananias03
      @Ananias03 6 лет назад

      Jamie Dimon you nailed that one. I see it in my state here in the South. A few big cities have all the crime and all the same problems. All the same common denominator as well. THUGS. IF they could clean up their own neighborhoods and begin to have 2 parent housholds instilling some morals back into the equation there would be a lot available to them. If the good people all started tomorrow taking back their cities in protest against the problem they would have dang near the whole country marching with them in support.

    • @Ramiiam
      @Ramiiam 7 лет назад +4

      Are you kidding? Inner city kids getting educated and working hard would benefit the entire country. As things stand, Baltimore is a drain on taxpayers in Maryland and nationwide who are subsidizing services there. But the problem is not funding. It is the culture of the inner city. Until that culture changes for the better, nothing else will improve.

    • @onatone
      @onatone 7 лет назад +3

      Ramiiam you have no idea what you're talking about. Typical racist and ignorant narrative of what I see a lot on the RUclips comment section. Culture cannot change until the system changes. But it's easy to blame others, like yourself, who have no real thought on how to change things. First step is to stop redlining, gentrification, and end the ridiculous austerity scam. Then see that "culture" has nothing to do with "inner city" issues.

    • @Ramiiam
      @Ramiiam 7 лет назад +3

      Or course you scream "racism." You know that there is a cultural problem, even though you must deny it. You are fooling nobody, not even yourself.

How about the company that built the DAPL pipeline doing the same for Baltimore schools? Well we all know there will be Ice Hockey in hell long before that happens.
