Btw, this premium is a pilsner and is the beer they’ve been brewing since 1829. Most people think the lager has been brewed for far longer than the reality, which is only since the 80s. Also, this is what the black and tan is made of- this and the porter.
What do you mean the black and tan part?
yuengling brews a "black-and-tan" which is a mix of 1/2 lager and 1/2 porter.@@CrashCarson14
@@ExecutiveCounsel I can't find the premium beer in less than 24 packs around me. What is it like? I love the lager
I've been drinking this for a long time and it's a very good brew. I just bought a case of 12oz cans for $14.99. They also make a premium light. Great review as always.
This must be a Western PA/regional brew, because I've never seen it here down south. Thanks for the view, SUB and support - CHEERS!
@@CheapBrewReview it is indeed a regional beer, my brother in law lives in Myrtle Beach, when he visits he buys a couple of cases Yuengling Porter because it’s not available down there. They have a couple other brews that are even tougher to find just south of the Mason Dixon, their Lord Chesterfield is the most bizarre to me. It’s like a Heineken but even more skunked haha
I buy Milwaukee's Best Light for $7.99 for a 15 pack so save some cash and try a blue collar working mans beer. Its simple and refreshing. It's my gold standard.
Love it and the light beer (blue can). Great beach beer. Price is in the $17 a case now. Still a great cheap beer, if you can find it. I have 2 local places. North West suburbs of Philly. Shhh , keep it a secret.🍻😊 Very drinkable.
Tried recently in a BBQ. For what it is and at the pricepoint is one of the best american beers that I have tasted. Lightyears ahead of the other macrobreweries. Very refreshing yet not watery. Very tasty
Yuengling's black and tan uses their premium and Porter for their mix.
Not gonna lie, I highly prefer the earlier vids (the quick 2 minute video reviews). They were so short and sweet! Great channel overall tho
Thanks I appreciate it. Unfortunately, the algorithm gods like longer videos and kill shorter vids. I'm trying to drink the happy medium. lol. CHEERS!
Thanks for the review Mr. Snob. Will try this based on your score.
Go for it! Thanks for your view, SUB and support - CHEERS!
Notes of taco? 😅😅😅
Dude, your tongue in cheek review gently mocking the review snobs is simoly fantastic. You're a riot. Keep it up.
never had or seen this one but I've never been dissatisfied with a yuengling beer
If you like Yuengling Lager, you might like Premium...if you can find it. Thanks for your SUB and support - CHEERS!
I just got to try it here in Tennessee for the first time. Had to buy it in the suitcase as well but enjoyed it. Good review man! Cheers 🍻
I grew up in Pottsville…this is their original brew!
What beer would you compare the flavor to? I like the Amber but have been hesitant to try the Premium because its only available in the 24pack here in Florida. Who wants 23 cans left of something they don't like? Though I've become more of an IPA guy, Miller Highlife is my "Guilty Pleasure" beer. Is this anything like MHL?
I tried it. I broke down and bought a case for $19.99. This is the most flavorless beer I have ever had with the possible exception of Pacifico. It has a slight lime aroma and no flavor. I'm gonna have to use it for boilermakers, which explains why Pennsylvania Steelworkers invented the boilermaker in the first place. They were drinking this flavorless brew.
Yuengling Premium was the first beer I tried from this brewery. I always liked it. Unlike many other brands it always had a good full beer flavor compared to other larger beer company offerings. There lager is what I prefer today but I still would enjoy the old Yuengling premium.
I grew up in South Jersey, outside of Phila. I'm 56 & we used to buy a case of 16 oz returnable bottles for under $10 in the mid-late 80's!!
I'm from Galloway Twp. Thanks for your view, SUB and support - CHEERS!
Would love to try this one out. Had several of the offerings by Yuengling, including Lord Chesterfield Ale. Great review as always. Cheers!
If you like the other Yuengs, then you'd like this. Thanks for the view, SUB and support - CHEERS!
Yes definitely a 4 out of 5! I'm a Yuengling lager fan and best on draft and cans and 5 out of 5 . This chilled tastes like a Mexican beer and even a German beer in my opinion. Very underrated beer. Great beer at a great price
Thanks for the review,Yuengling premium was their product since the beginning of the brewery. I found it many years ago when I first started drinking beer. I always enjoyed the beers from the smaller regional breweries. However over the years many of them closed. I was worried that Yuengling would suffer the same fate since when I first started drinking it most of the time it was hard to find in the Philadelphia area. However when they introduced their lager beer that full flavored beer became a big hit. I now mostly doing the lager brand but on ocassion will by their premium brand. One of the things I liked about both beers was that they both gave a good head to the pour. In fact if you did not pour it gently into your glass it would really be big. Also unlike many beers the head stayed till you finished and you would see some foam still sticking to the side of the glass when you were done. That’s how many of the older smaller breweries beers used to be. To me it is a great beer at a good price. But as Yuengling has grown they now make many newer variations that any beer drinker should enjoy.
Im lucky enough to work right next to the yuengling brewery in Tampa and it’s definitely a blessing being able to pick up a 24 pack straight from the source.
I just bought some at WalMart. It's refreshing beer and the price point was great , 16.81 out the door. Well worth trying. I like the drinkability over Yuengling traditional Lager
I love the Yuengling Lager, and black and tan. I’ll definitely have my local store to order me a few cases of the premium. I also love Modelo, so I’m sure I’ll be a big fan of this premium.
Good beer for a good price thanks for reviewing
Thanks for your view, SUB and support - CHEERS!
Lots of small Eastern/Central PA coal/steel town bars had it on tap.
This was the dominant beer of the Pottsville area locals in the late 70s (maybe still is?) when i spent some time in the area. As young drinkers, we HATED the stuff. Genesee Cream Ale was our preferred brew -16 oz. returnable bottles. Anyway, my local bar in South Jersey got some recently and I thought, "After 45 years, why not try it again?" $2 a can during happy hour. I gotta say that I was pleasantly surprised. Not bad, at all. I also like their Golden Pilsner but never got into the Lager. Hard to beat for the price. It might be the hip beer to drink, replacing PBR.
I really like this beer. I prefer the Golden Pilsner, but for the price, Premier is just fine.
I love premium. I used to drink it in college when 24 packs were $13. I live in Harrisburg not too far from the brewery and I'm surprised at the number of ppl who have never had or heard of it.
I've always wanted to try the premium but it is not available around here.
Can you find this in Florida?
I doubt they have Premium in FL ( haven't seen it) but they do have Lager. CHEERS!
Good review. Good beer!
I prefer their lagers, but i rarely see yuengling here in CA which is a bummer was my go to in PA. Love that hershey choclate porter too.
Dude, you are hilarious! Love your reviews. 😂
I appreciate that! Thanks for your view, SUB and support - CHEERS!
Head across the river and grab a case of Yuengling Lord Chesterfield. Their black and tan used to be 50/50 Chesterfield and their Porter. The current black and tan is now this premium mixed with their porter. Far as I know porter and Chetty is still only sold in PA.
Yeah, I haven't had Chetty since Jersey. I remember it as odd but I liked it. Thanks for the view, SUB and support - CHEERS!
I purchased a 24 pack recently at Walmart here in VA and I have to say, I like this one a lot. I don’t get any 🌮 flavor 😅 but it is more more bitter than your standard American Macro, which I think adds more character, and it’s perfectly balanced by its sweetness. This is a pilsner style beer, and I think Yuengling did a fine job with this.
Premium is the "tan" in the Yuengling black & tan just an FYI for anyone wondering. Black & Tan is the Yuengling porter and Yuengling premium.
Just saw this on sale tonight and im buying my first pack tomorrow! Awesome timing. Wonder if you saw it from the same spot as me. It was absurdly cheap
Yeap you saw it where I saw it
Hope you like it! Thanks for your view, SUB and support - CHEERS!
I'm going to check another Walmart in my area to see if they have it too. Thanks for your view, SUB and support - CHEERS!
Hope you like it! Thanks for your view, SUB and support - CHEERS!
@@CheapBrewReview ugh my walmart didn't stock them, I saw the sale online. Gonna have to make a trip of it to the other side of town!
My uncle’s favorite, and I am from the Philly suburb of Phoenixville
Budweiser was my beer for 40+ years before coming out as gay. I have been trying every thing on the beer isle with nothing but disappointment. Most beers just "bite" to much. I have tried all yuenglings available, same story to much throat burn. Today I found Yuengling Premium and I LIKE IT. I just need to find now who sells it. I hate shopping wal mart but I bought their last case today. This is good beer.
Damn, wish I could find it around here. But I do drink Yuengling lager and really like it. I tried a sample of Yuengling's light beer at a pub we frequent regularly and for a light beer it was alright. I'm just not really a fan of any light beer. :) I enjoy your reviews.
This is my favorite cheap beer.
This was their flagship brew for many years, but replaced it with the darker Yuengling Lager. Now the Yuengling Premium is their budget beer. There is also a Yuengling Golden Pilsner which is more hoppy than the Premium
Best beer on the market!
Yes I think it's pretty good cheap domestic beer also, N you are right has like a Mexican after taste to it,I drink it ICE COLD THOUGH I love your beer reviews Also
I love beer, my ancestry is half German so enough said. My brother and l were just talking and this beer came up I'm the conversion. Crazy huh.
I’m drinking the black & tan rn as I watch this video lol. Seen it for the first time today and decided to try it out. I like it so far
I have a review of B&T too...before the beard. ruclips.net/video/Yarelp0_5RA/видео.html
Thats made with this and their porter. 👍🏼 the black and tan is one of their staples.
In my opinion as a young lager “consumer” this is one of my favorite brews for a long night with good friends
Now you gotta find premium light. I see all the yuengling brews here in South Jersey (EHT)
I'm from Galloway! Thanks for your view, SUB and support - CHEERS!
Yes no problem. I remember you from your radio days up here. Cheers!
Bought a 24 pack and blind taste test vs. Miller High Life. High Life won for me. If you drink really cold piss, it would probably would be drinkable. Let it warm up to 45 or 50 degrees though, ugh ! That's what I do to beer. Let it warm up to about 45 degrees and the taste really comes out. And Miller won under those circumstances. At 36 ! It was really hard to tell the difference.
I haven’t seen this one in my area yet, just the lager which I like okay. I do my beer shopping mostly in the north west Missouri area.
Yeah, doubt you'll see it there. Thanks for your view, SUB and support - CHEERS!
This is ranked above two hearted… seriously? Love your channel while I scratch my head.
$17.99 for a case? Cheapest available? Sold! Us poor guys could give a crap about the taste as long as it works to wind you down after a rough day.
Thats just an all around good beer right there!
Found it here in the deep south last week. Considering price its a top notch pilsner even though it doesn’t taste like a pilsner but whatever. Compared to the nascar beers it’s a 4.5 for me.
Im from Oregon and can't it ,I really want to try all of the yuenling beers
I get suitcases of these in bucks county for $18. Cant beat the value, imo. Lager is $29.45 for a case of cans in NJ (in Lambertville, at least). Thats nnnuts
I used to get the premium in bottles- $11/12 pack.
There ain't much better than the taste of cigarettes and an old musty basement in a cheap costing beer. Gonna have to look for this one!
It's a taste. Thanks for your view, SUB and support - CHEERS!
I wanted to buy this before but I need to buy a 24 pack just to try.....
Edit: I did it. And I'm not regretting it yet. I'm liking it way more then the pilsner. Tastes like it's going to be a good pool beer.
That's always a hard gamble for me. This time, it payed off. Thanks for your view, SUB and support - CHEERS!
Subbed😂😂
Rock n roll! Thanks for the SUB - CHEERS!
4.5% abv per the website. They also make a Premium light.
Sounds about right! Thanks for your view, SUB and support - CHEERS!
You should try to find Busch light peach! I remember you surprisingly liked the apple so you should give it a shot!
Who in their right mind would support Anheuser Busch?
Might have to try this!
Dude, you haven't had Yuengling Premium if you haven't had it in its original form......brown returnables in the waxed case.
A staple of my youth..... notice i didn't say a good staple.....😁
Wow, the only place I've returned returnables is in a small town in Germany. Thanks for your view, SUB and support - CHEERS!
I've seen it at Total Wine and Buy Rite in New Jersey.🍻
Ah ha! Must be North Jersey. Thanks for the view, SUB and support - CHEERS!
Eatontown and Waretown.
I enjoyed my suitcase of this.
Mine only lasted the weekend. Thanks for your view, SUB and support - CHEERS!
@@CheapBrewReview uhhh...show some respect to "the riot!" He's been around the block a time or two. ; )
hope to find this and try it out
I agree it is a decent beer and i also enjoy it more than a PBR and the ABV is 4.5% just dont quote me on it!!!!
I like it. And a case is less than 2 sawbucks.
Damn I wish Yuengling was sold in my part of the country, ive wanted to try one for a long time. IDK why their distribution is so limited.
And I HATE that metallic taste a lot of cheap American lagers can have so it sounds like its good value.
Yuengling is gradually crawling across the country. Where are you located? Thanks for your view, SUB and support - CHEERS!
@@CheapBrewReview Pacific Northwest. Ya I know we have a lot of quality Craft beer and microbreweries around here, but I just want to finally try a Yuengling lol
You forgot to mention their best one. Yuengling PORTER. 🤘
Thats the new logo? I liked the old one better. Felt more sophisticated.
Lager on tap is fantastic.
Have there ever been any beers that got a perfect score 5 out of 5
Yuengling Premium is a pilsner-style brew 4.5%. its got corn in it
Where’s your old style review bro ? GOAT beer
But your evaluation as a similar to modelo im going to have to almost entirely disagree with, a Mexican brew has none of the deep woody and complex “basement” flavors this beer does. But, nevertheless agree with a lot of what you said.
🍺
This beer is what I imagine a nice duff should taste like
Honestly a lot of import lagers have that corn taste to me.
Mexican imports for me. Thanks for your view, SUB and support - CHEERS!
4.8 alcohol here in Tennessee
Yuengling is reportedly sponsoring a drag show for families in Pennsylvania
They are and they're trying to memory hole it. Need to be the next Bud Light
It's 4.5 ABV.
That tastes about right. Thanks for your view, SUB and support - CHEERS!
I’ve always known of this stuffs possible existence, but have never actually seen it.
They are missing in action
Not available
The beer is 4.5 Alcohol.
So it's low alcohol.
Coors original has a metalic taste.
I like the shout out to Hamm's. Hamm's is my favorite cheap beer besides lucky lager. Both rare.
Also red dog and Texas lone star.
I bought this hoping it tasted like lone star.
It's honestly close to regular Yuengling but less malty.
I don't know where you got tacos from or Mexican beer lol.
It's not like tekate or PBR.
The only plus I'd say is the very low alcohol. If you like the taste of beer and don't like being hammered. It's almost like drinking N/A.
I've has schlitz, Milwaukee's best.
There's also a Yuengling golden pilsner I noticed.
This beer is not bad.i drank 5 of them with some food over the course of a few hours. I'm not even buzzed just mellow and relaxed.
I kind of like that though.
The background music is annoying and really detracts.
4.5abv
That sounds about right. Thanks for your view, SUB and support - CHEERS!
4.5
4.5%
i got it to bad i have to PA to get it
Wallmart. Don't say any more
I prefer my beer not to sponsor drag queen shows for babies. Bought my last case of Yuengling. Beer companies keep siding with groomers, I'll be healthier by the end of the year.
Dammit
I didn't know this...
Sucks
4.9% abv
dang i mis-typed. 4.5 % and 12 IBU's
That sounds about right. Thanks for your view, SUB and support - CHEERS!
Yuengling is by far the worst tasting beer I've ever had, except for Guiness!
Well, that says it all.
The only store I know that carries this is bootleggers in glassboro From time to time
