I like that he has Natural Light as a palate cleanser 😂
Pinning this one 😂
I've had enough miller lite and coors to definitely know them blindfolded. And heineken could never be mistaken for any of those.
I definitely recommend giving it a try, it was a lot of fun trying to tell them apart. We're hoping to do a 2nd attempt soon.
Heineken is so different from the others.
Agree corona premier is my favorite little more pricey than the others
Same!!!
Same!
This video showed us that the best way to drink Bud Light is when your tricked into it!
😂😂😂 Favorite comment so far
Best comment of RUclips… ever
I like it...but then again, I like most beer
This comment aged well
@@JerielAlvarez for sure bro!😂
1) To truly enjoy beer you have to remember when you FIRST experienced your first beer. I had mine when I was 7 years old in a in a hot car as my parents did not have water or anything to drink in the car except my father's "warm" 8 pack of tiny 7oz pony Budweiser. I guzzled it down and it tasted SO GOOD! I feel asleep within 10 minutes after drinking it. 2) Fast forward to the future as I am now currently a serious beer drinker and have tried all types of High ABV beers to the point that now at my old age I prefer a light beer like Coors light. My final #2 point is because I drink so much I have never experienced that first time beer taste UNTIL I was hospitalized for 3 months recently and could not drink beer. When I got out off the hospital I quickly got me a Coors light beer. I could not believe it but when I took a sip of the Coors Light beer after not having beer in 3 months, guess what?. Yes that first time beer taste came back as that beer or any beer that I could have had that day was MUCH enjoyable and tasted great! (Hint) Another words, sometimes its best to reframe from something to enjoy it AGAIN.
Absolutely agree with that "first" beer feeling. I also relate certain beers to very specific memories which makes them way more enjoyable. Happy to hear you're out of the hospital, hope all is well 🍻
damn. That's crazy. 7 years old. I'm 15 lmfao
I love how Bud Lite was briefly #1 lol
No one was more surprised than me lol
Not a fan of light beers, but to drink beer these days I have had to go that route. I typically enjoy amber/red/Vienna lager/marzen. Malts. But with drinking light beer it is tough. I tolerate shiner light blonde. But what I have in my fridge is the Yuengling Light (18.88 a case at Walmart helps)
Can't beat those prices 🍻
I've always been a bud light drinker at bars but never had YL. might have to go to the store now and grab me one of those create a 6 pack to try 1 of everything
Do it! And report back on the results!
I like this your not just judging the beers off the name on the label . Your go in just off taste an honest
Thanks! I had a lot of fun with it. There have definitely been some surprises across a few of my blind tests!
Yuengling actually isn't too surprising. They seem to be the only macro-brewery with character to each of their brews. I personally like their Black & Tan for a readily available brew that really has deeper flavor. For a while, about 15-years ago we got their "black" beer which was a basically a porter (though I can't recall that per se on the label) in my market. It had a number or something like that as its name. It was great only to disappear only to occasionally return in a holiday sampler. I'd like to see that beer go national again because being older I no longer prefer session, or lighter beers, choosing instead to pick slower sipping fuller bodied brews. Still on hot days you've convinced me I should pick up some of Yuengling's light stuff. Well done.
I'm with you, most days I like a nice sipping beer. Especially in the winter opting for something with more robust flavor. In the summer I trend toward the beers and sessions. Pilsners have also been in heavy rotation
rolling rock !!! rock n roll baby !!! MY ABSOUTE FAVORITE !!!!! that is what i drink !!!!
The hilarious part is the Miller lite had more out of the bottle drank.
I don’t remember seeing the Bud Light jumping from 6 to 2 though, but great video!
Thanks, I'm still shocked it ranked so high. We definitely need to do another test. Maybe with some new contenders.
It was 6 in the prediction before he did the blind taste test.
This was an awesome video. A buddy of mine brought some yuenglings back to Texas from the east coast and they do stand out from other beers.
I've always been a fan but had never had the light before. I was definitely pleasantly surprised!
Nothing beats a refreshing Yuengling. Especially if you are having a cheese steak in philly.
I first has a yengling at age 14 belive it or not and has been my go to ever since, age 33 now.... bud light is what I drink when I'm thirsty/cutting grass or a party beer....as it's like water.
Facts might have been my first beer at 17 not sure
Loved it
Miller lite has the best flavor compared to the buds and coors in my opinion
My wife would agree. Miller is easily her favorite. Looking forward to doing another blind test sometime soon.
Coors has always been my favourite as it has virtually no aftertaste. A definite plus when drinking cheap beer like this. Bud has too much of a sweet, corny flavour for me. I want to try the Yeungling now though!
This was my exact thought! I always associated Bud with a weird sweetness. Apparently I didn't notice it as much with the blindfold on 😂
For me miller lite has more flavor.
Cool video BUT for a real blind test you need to pour into glasses....I could tell a few of these just from handling the bottle, like rolling rocks have a painted on label vs paper
I think we'll opt for solo cups in the next test to really capture the memories I have with most of these beers.
If the concern is "carbs" only Miller Lite passes the test. Frankly, all "lights" suck except on a hot summer day, however, yes Yeuleng Light is probably the best flavor out of that grouping.
The problem with Coors and Bud lights is sure low in calories (not my issue) but not carbs. As a type 2 diabetic if I'm going to damage myself I'd just have a regular - high quality beer before drinking those. Like I mentioned out of the group Miller Lite is significantly lower and just almost makes it worth the carb load vs taste.
Just found the channel and subbed. Cool comparison video. Cheers!
Welcome, glad you like it! I'm looking forward to the next chance I get to record one!
Cheers, check out our reviews
You And Me have similar taste in beer great video!
Heineken and rolling rock are not in the light beer standings, but good review
Fair point lol. This was definitely a scramble to put a lineup together with what was available. We're currently planning a 2nd edition
@@iRunOnBeer It's ok, I too did the same thing and I am learning as well, just wanted to let you know, which I am sure you do. I am exploring tons of beers, and growing a strong appreciation for the classic American ones that many people say that "it tastes like water" comments. Totally not true, and they are fantastic beers in their own right. Good luck man!
@@ChicagoTechGuy Thanks man, you too! They're definitely underappreciated brews
Good to see a blind test, you're right, i do associate certain beers with memories, so a blind test would be interesting 👍🏃 & it's good excuse for a beer 😂
It was so much fun, I definitely want to do another one!
LOVE YOUR REVIEWS BRO - I have to ask tho, i'm soooo impressed that you don't have a beer gut :))) Since the virus i've got a huge beer gut...lol - so i have to ask - from one beer lover to another - HOW DO YOU DO IT ??? - SUPER IMPRESSED MAN :))) - keep up the awesome reviews....cheers from NC :))))
Thanks! And as far as keeping off the beer gut, I run... A LOT lol. I'm actually training for the NYC marathon currently.
It's funny that Rolling Rock isn't even officially a light beer but it still tasted weak next to the others here. 😄 I remember it as a beer I tried a few times when I started drinking because the bottle looked cool, but even then it tasted bland to me.
I don't think I've ever actually tried Coors Light. I might have to give it a try now.
He's so right about the Heineken. It has to be ice cold to even drink it.
Someone may have asked this already, but why didn't you use Rolling Rock Light, and Hieneken Light?
It was tough to find single bottles available of all the light beers, and I didn't want to buy a 6-pack (or more) of each. These were the most readily available options, but we'd like to try it again with TRUE light beers.
@@iRunOnBeer gotcha, great video regardless.
Surprised that Yeuleng won. Never had it before. Might try it. Have no desire for Bud or Coors Light but like you have fond memories with Rolling Rock. Drink Henney only if I have to but I love Miller Lite. It's ambrosia. Great vid.
I was very surprised by the winner. I don't think I've actually seen a Yuengling Light since. I'd love to get another six pack though
might not be a coincidence that the two beers in green bottles (more susceptible to light exposure and thus off notes) were last
Agreed! And also possibly since they don't technically fall into the "Light Beer" category.
I enjoyed watching your video. Very interesting, and a lot of fun.
Thanks! We're hoping to do another one soon.
You should purr into glasses to open them up
For light beers, I only ever drink them out of cans/bottles so I wanted to taste test how I actually drink them. Also, for visuals, it's much easier for the viewer to know which is which.
Enjoyable watching but I cannot see how regular beer can be amongst the line-up ( Heineken and Rolling Rock ) when it is a light beer blind tasting. Does this mean that there are only 3 light beers brewed in America?
Just means I was in a hurry and the store I went to had very limited light beer options available as single bottles/cans 😂
EVERYTHING from Yuengling is great beer!
Agreed! I ran their Oktoberfest 5k race a few years ago and the beer they had was phenomenal. I can usually only find their lager and light beer by me.
As far as domestics Bud Light and Coors Are my two
I think Bud light brewed on the east coast is better than bud light brewed in California. I wish Yuingling or Naragansett were sold out here in California
I've never heard a difference between the two. I guess I'll have to try some Bud Light the next time I'm out west! Yuengling has been gradually expanding, hopefully they'll hit CA eventually!
Classic what’s the difference between a flea and a louse contest
Bud light 1 coors second Miller third Never had the rest but ima bud light guy
Coors Light FTW!
A classic!
lol dude trashed bud light, then liked it
No one was more surprised than me 😂
Yuengling Flight is even better.
That's been my light beer of choice recently 🍻
* Guy Drinks whole 6 pack In 10 minutes *
The hardest part about filming these taste tests is the rapid sipping lol
Baked on label of Rolling Rock gives it away.
HIGH LIFE
no budweiser and PBR?
Tried to focus on light beer (Under 5%) so no Budweiser. We've got lots of suggestions for a part 2 though.
You from Delaware my guy?
Yes sir! Born and raised 🍻
@@iRunOnBeer that’s what’s up same here man
@@handsolo2818 I still get back pretty regularly. My parents are in Wilmington.
I've never had Heineken, but based on Darwin's video of the bottle vs can, I'm surprised anyone drinks the skunky bottle. Have you compared the two and is that distinctiveness you noticed in the bottle skunkiness?
I haven't seen the video but I've heard that about green bottles. Would be an interesting test
@@iRunOnBeer I just checked. There are no world records held for running a marathon solely on skunked Heinekens. You could be the first! ;-)
ruclips.net/video/OZruNa2bjS0/видео.html
If it's true, I'm completely perplexed that a company would choose their brand image over brand quality. OTOH, it seems to be working for them.
I typically only run long distances for a quarter of the year (late summer-fall), but I've bookmarked your channel based on the few non-beer vids I watched. Great content, though I'm sticking with my Xero shoes for all terrains (road/mostly trail).... :-)
It's a an acquired taste. I love me some skunk.
But also leaving the most skunk beer till last makes your ranking skewed.
@@MrTransits Oh yea, this was in no way scientific 😂
DMS. Rolling Rock. Easy.
Never tried Rolling Rock so I can't judge it, never liked Heinekin. I'd move Bud down lower to maybe 4th but the order of the other 3 I'd agree with.Yuengling is "Da Bomb Dot Com"!
I need to reattempt with Bush Light, that was always my go to in college. Tied with Coors for my favorite light beer. But lately Yuengling has been the go to.
@@iRunOnBeer Aside from the current Bud Light issue, I've been looking around for a good truly American beer. And Yuengling has ended that search. Have you tried their Pilsner offerings yet? I'm iffy about Pilsner beer, don't think I've ever had one, so not sure what to expect.
@@kethf4301 I haven't had Yuengling Pilsner but I do tend to enjoy pilsners if they're made well. I like them nice and light with just slight hop bitterness to add some crisp to the end.
Ah man they got heineken light ya know
I always thought heiniken stank. Has a sulfur smell
Heineken is not a light beer here!!!!
I know 😔 We had to work with what we had! We'll do better in version two!
How the hell do you confuse Bud Light for Heineken??? Lol.
Dude you don't like beer, you like sode
😁
Man, they only actual beer the was placed last...
It really shouldn't have been in the "light beer" lineup. Looking forward to a second attempt at this with some new challengers!
This was really fun to watch. Thanks for the video. I'm kind of a philanthropist so I would rather buy the last 3 beers. But definitely not Heineken. They are loaded. I only buy Heineken on sale.
I still tend to lean towards Coors, and now Michelob. Need to do a version two soon!
😊😊⁰0😊
Just finished drinking a bud light b4 watching this haha love me some ice cold bud light 😋
Apparently I like it a lot more than I thought lol!
@@iRunOnBeer lmao hell yea bro give bud light another chance i like to get the tall cans and put em in the freezer for 15-20 min they taste so crisp and cool and refreshing 👌
Alright so you started off by saying that nasty beer is your favorite wtf dude
cant actually taste the difference.... basically water.
Just proves that people prefer a "brand" more than taste lol. Miller Lite for me all day long! Good ABV, low carbs/ calories, and I prefer pilsner.
Couldn't agree more. I know my memory of a beer or brand is the biggest factor for me
And corn syrup
✨💥
You know there is Heineken light right
Yea, they just didn't have it available to buy by the bottle when we recorded. Tried to grab what we could!
@@iRunOnBeer nah it’s cool just wasn’t sure if it was in the area u are in or if u knew awesome vid though u ever think about doing it with their non light counterparts?
@@bradyreynolds1097 That's an awesome idea! We're in the process of planning a light beer part 2 but the it would be great to do the non-light beers
need to keep the belching in, really?
Wouldn't have it any other way
@@iRunOnBeer classy guy
@@keithbertschin1213 🍻
Oof.
Amstel Light is pretty solid for 95 calories.
There's been a lot of Amstel recommendations in these comments. I think they've earned a spot in the next test!
But the abv is pathetically low at 3.5%
Sorry Mate there is NO beer there at all. You do not make beer from Rice or cat,s piss.
Bud light is disgusting, your taste buds are all out of whack
To each his own, it's always been my favorite one gotta cold one right now
You need to pour them into red solo cups next time. I feel like the label of the rolling rock gave it away.
I think we might for the next one. I like using the bottles/cans just for people watching to see what's what.
Good point.
I’m glad you like Yuengling Light. I live in Pottsville Pennsylvania. It’s all I drank my whole life. America’s oldest is still America’s best.
It's so good! I got to run their Oktoberfest race in Bethlehem one year. So much good beer 🍻
Havent had their light yet. Hard to beat Coors Banquet and Hamm’s (not lights tho, but oh well). It used to be regular Bud for me but with recent events, im obviously no longer drinking anything AB-InBev
By FAR the best blind taste test I’ve seen. Cheers!
Thanks version 2 is in the works! Hopefully coming mid February (after Dry January)
You thought bud light was Heineken. Lmao. I’m out.
Yuengling light is my go to at the moment.
Obviously I was a fan 🍻
IMO, very hard to distinguish between light beers, but much easier to distinguish between beer styles. You could do this same taste test tomorrow and get different results, so much so that number 1 could go to 6 and number 6 could go to 1. I would think that if I did this, I couldn't tell the difference in the light beers, but I think I could pick out the Heineken.
Agreed, I'm eager to try it again. I felt very dumb with how much I said "this beer tastes so much different" but wasn't able to realize it was the Heineken lol. Version 2 will definitely be a "light" beer exclusive!
Yuengling Light only has 4.0% ABV though, also 99 calories and 3.2 carbs which is nice. Similar to that and the best on the spec sheet in terms of ABV, calories and carbs is Miller Lite with 4.2% ABV, and only 96 calories & 3.2 carbs
Yuengling is a great beer! but I can only get it when I travel east, not in the st louis area as of yet. great vid my man! thanks for thoughts on light beers dude! now if only i can get yuengling my way...prob not since this is budweiser town, and they are gonna keep it that way.
I'm a big Yuengling fan! They've been expanding a decent amount recently so maybe one day 🍻
Yuengling is a GREAT beer. I am drinking their regular Lager, right now. I also like their Black and Tan. One of the last FAMILY OWNED breweries in America......I need to try their light beer.
We almost named our dog Yuengling because she was black and tan 😂. Great beer, I didn't even know they had a light option before this video. 🍻
ive just started drinking im pretty young lol but i just tried some yuengling and i was blow away by how good it was, hands down my favorite ive tried so far but i really wanna continue to experiment because i know there are so many other options
Try Yuengling Flight
Yeah I have Yuengling Light and Yuengling Lager in the fridge right now and I enjoy them both.
Rolling Rock use to be so good until it got bought out and turned into cheap beer
Nominate YOUR FAVORITE light beers for the next test: bit.ly/BestLightBeers
great video man! Im surprised by Heineken and budlight. Heineken is my fav. bud too sweet.
Thanks! I definitely want to try it again sometime soon. I was also very surprised by the outcome
Good man, you are a connessuer. Yuengling Light was my late father in laws favorite beer, he lived well into his 90's so knew a thing or two!
Definitely a solid choice, it's delicious!
This was a great video! Also, I would LOVE to see you Collab with Cody Ko on his Codytrains channel! (I think that's what it's called!) Although he is all the way in Cali and I her at the end you are from Pottsville Pa! Hey there, neighbor! I'm from Lower Bucks County Pa! Grew up in Yardley and the last decade I've lived in Bensalem!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed I'm actually from DE originally but spent a lot of time in and around PA growing up!
@@iRunOnBeer Nice! Delaware is beautiful too!
I never saw Yengling in Costco in CA but will try to find it. Mine is always Coors and Bud or The Blue Moon with orange :)
Yuengling Light
Miller Lite
Coors Light
Heineken
Rolling Rock
Bud Light
As if he can’t somewhat narrow it down just by the paper or lack of paper feel on the bottles…
Heineken and Rolling Rock are regular lagers, not light beers. 🍺
Yuengling is my personal favorite
Always hated Heineken - Bitter skunk beer.
Had a few yuengling black and tans the other day my favorite beer rn
We actually can't very close to naming our old dog "Yuengling" because she was black and tan 🍻 Great beer!
Not surprised yuengling climbed to the top. Good video dude your guesses were on point
Thanks! I wish the yuengling light was more common in NY! I'd get it so much more often!
Miller lite is my favorite
So if nobody's watching will you still drink a Bud Light?🤣 Is it easier with the lights out/blindfolded..🤣 👍 to the giggles.
Lol, only when it's the only beer available! I would say the biggest change since this video is I consume a lot more Yuengling lights/flights.
Nice…
Can tell by bottle or can. WTF
Very good job. Makes me want to try yuengling light...
Harder to find but definitely worth it!
@@iRunOnBeer luckily here in Florida, yuengling is very popular and easy to find
I fluctuate with beer. Grew up on Busch light and always have a case around but also enjoy Dos Equis and ciders quite a bit
Busch Light was an old favorite of mine. I'll still grab an 18 pack every now and then but I don't see them as much by us.
Rolling rock and Heineken go bad quick because of their green bottles. The light skunks them super quick. Always buy them in cans or enclosed cases of bottles.
drinking out of the bottle , says everything , needs to be in a glass .. you havent a clue
Tasted them how I would actually drink them. I never drink light beer out of a glass.
Rolling Rock and Heineken
It’s Miller Time
Coors Light duh.....
I'd like to see more of these videos I know you have like three of them right now.
We're definitely overdue! We recently moved and still need to find a good beer shop that lets you do mixed 6-packs.
coors is the best
