When you were showing the pics of the kestels, my dogs came running in and stood looking at the screen with their heads cocked ot the side. It looks like I might moving states soon, so now I have to learn all of the new regs. Life is hard lol.
Geez you had to work for 'em Robbie. I knew a bloke years ago who used to regularly fish for redfin in a small river here. He mostly fished little spinners like celtas and reckoned he got a hit on average every eighteen casts. I went for a walk around my dam at ten O'clock tonight- still hot, really humid, saw seven of my catfish feeding in the shallows- looking through a haze of a million tiny insects swarming my head light. You really should try to get back to that private dam where you caught the catfish a while back and try some night fishing Robbie, when they're really on the chew. Great fun- you'd have a ball- probably difficult to film though. Cheers mate. Jay.
I grew up in Wodonga and back in the 90's we used to catch lots of redfin out at Talgarno off the little point opposite Jake's Hut. I love seeing you out fishing in places I used to go when I was a young bloke. Do you ever go to Doolans Bend over at Barnawatha / Howlong for Murray Crays? It was a good spot for crays back then.
Not sure which video it was but I did comment recently mentioning how low it's been recently! Me and a few mates were getting a few decent sized ones out of the Bowna arm but as you mentioned they weren't looking all that great with whatever that disease was so unfortunately no feed. That's probably going back 18 months-2 years ago when it was still up around the 80-90+% mark. Since then the water has dropped significantly due to releases into the Murray so it's been mainly carp from the bank or getting the boats out and chasing yellas around the stumps in the centre! But glad to know there is still a few around, that first self releaser didn't look to be too bad of a size either!
@robbiefishing , I moved here in Dec of 2023, after watching your videos I was excited to be working next to lake hume. Little did I know the fishing was drying up as much as the lake has in the last 12 months.
Yeah that's pretty typical. It seems to fish well for reddies after a flood but the following few years sees their numbers drop off. With the sad state that Lake Hume is on, the next big flood might not deliver any redfin.
Hope the reddies come back . Used to fish in the Tallangatta arm. Got a few trout and lots of eatable size reddies. Didn’t they get some disease a couple of years ago Robbie 🤔
Hi mate, I'm really sorry but I do not offer a guiding service any more. I used to be a guide for a while but decided to stop doing it to focus on my fishing videos instead.
Thanks Vincent. It's been very hot here. Too hot some days. It was 40 celcius yesterday. I laid under the air conditioner and had a sleep. I dreamed about windy, cold rainy sleety days. LOL 😆😆
Great to watch as always Mate. Thanks for sharing :)

When you were showing the pics of the kestels, my dogs came running in and stood looking at the screen with their heads cocked ot the side.
It looks like I might moving states soon, so now I have to learn all of the new regs. Life is hard lol.
WOW moving states sounds stressful. Haha that's funny about the dogs though. LOL 😂😂😂

Thanks so much mate. I haven't fished Doolens, but I have fished Richardson's. I tend to avoid the Murray. I fish it occasionally but not a lot.
I’ve scoped up huge schools of Redfin over the past couple of months but they don’t seem to be hungry.
Heading out in the morning so I’ll let you know
Awesome good luck Butch. 👍👍👍
Awesome session bro 😂😂😂😂😂 Wez Berryl...?
Thanks Bro, she's off doing teenage things.

Great job Robbie, those Kestral's Hoppers would make Good bait!
Thanks mate, I agree. 👍👍
Awesome mate I was wondering if there was still Redfin in there after they died awhile back now I know cheers mate
I have only caught 2 in 12 months. 1 near Ebden, one at Kangaroo Point. Both were under 10cm.
WOW It's so disappointing isn't it.
@robbiefishing , I moved here in Dec of 2023, after watching your videos I was excited to be working next to lake hume. Little did I know the fishing was drying up as much as the lake has in the last 12 months.
Wow your wife’s photos are amazing she should do a work shop
Thanks Catherine, she sure is a talented photographer.

Small ones means there will be big ones in a year or two.
I hope you're right mate. 👍
Onya Robbie!

Thanks Dmac. Fingers crossed mate. 👍👍
Big swell for such a short fetch
You're not wrong mate, it was bloody windy. Lots of fun though. Haha
surfing video please
Hahaha
In the mid 90s I used to catch 30 odd keepers with ease and probably throw 50 or more back out there on a good day trawling
Yep I remember those days. We had a season like that a few years back until a virus swept through the lake.
Jeez mate ya competing with Ron chopper tonight lol
Hahaha Ron Chopper is a legend.
I've been watching these epic fishing videos on my TV, Keep up the good work👍
Thank you so much mate. 👍👍
@robbiefishing ❤ anything for a beloved fisher
None left in Moodamere 👎

Thanks mate, I hope so too. Yep they sure did, I spoke about it in the video. It was horrible.
Looking a bit LOW!
It's around 50%. It's the lowest it's been for a few years but I've seen it much lower.
can me you go fishing together one day robbie
Hi mate, I'm really sorry but I do not offer a guiding service any more. I used to be a guide for a while but decided to stop doing it to focus on my fishing videos instead.
Nice day for flying a kite. I'm so jealous of your beautiful weather. Here it's cold rainy sleety icy depressing. 😢
Thanks Vincent. It's been very hot here. Too hot some days. It was 40 celcius yesterday. I laid under the air conditioner and had a sleep. I dreamed about windy, cold rainy sleety days. LOL 😆😆
