both have there own use case. MacBook will perform better than windows on battery. while windows will provide High performance when connected to charger

I also have a 12 year old laptop and it boots up in 15 seconds. Just Upgrade it with a SSD and 8GB ram. And install windows in SSD.
For those people who thinks what should you get apple or windows
Window: If your sole purpose is gaming, 3d animation any type of 3d purpose use window pc bcz you can upgrade of your own taste
Apple: if your purpose is productivity like coding, making music, any kind of cpu performance based task apple would be the greatest for you
