The only reason why I agree with the high prices is because of the professionalism. Her hair has maintained its integrity, was properly installed, removed and reinstalled. It's the expertise. Her natural hair has to be maintained (shampooed, blown out, pressed). Mostly the quality of the tape-ins itself, that has to be raw hair. 80 pieces Which also has to be cleaned as well. I would like to know what people expect to pay for a quality service and raw tape-ins.
My thoughts exactly!! The comments on this section is mind blowing!
That’s alot of steps…. Sound like a 2 process! Pay 🆙
Not to mention the time she took to do the service. The price is the price.
@@IntuitiveGoat Absolutely!! I didn't even mention her time. I had the opportunity to visit this salon once, and its so clean and fresh, non-gossip, like some of the salons in our community, it felt good like a sister-hood and that's something money cant buy. So that means you get an amazing install, educated about your hair and a peace of mind at the same time. I as a stylist inspire to be like this salon owner. So I can charge what I want so I can give my clients the experience that they deserve.
This woman's work is beautifully done. I do my own hair but when I get the urge to splurge I choose the best for my hair care by seeing others well done tresses.
I don’t understand how tape-ins are so expensive when they are quite literally less work than a traditional sew-in? Charge what you think you’re worth, or whatever, but these new school stylist want to charge the most for doing the least and ion like dat
And she probably had to wash and blow her own hair
Exactly
they be greedy N ion like dat. 👍🏾 gon head ill cut this shit off dye it pink and get a set of fingerwaves...forever
That part!
@@onegreenenvy if you would have watched even the first 5 minutes of this video you would have seen that she washed, blow dried and pressed her hair. Smh
That’s why I wear and do my own hair and nails. If you don’t like it, oh well, I love it. Afro today, twists tomorrow. Pink nails today, orange next week. It’s actually quite fun like it used to be!
"like it used to be" that hit hard! I'm the same way. just did this install on myself with hair from Amazon.. I'm shocked at how easy it was with a little learning curve, and of course we'll see if anything negative was done upon take down, but overall I love the versatility doing my own hair and nails gives me!
That’s awesome! Congrats on freeing yourself and going back to having fun!
This!!!!!!
I do both!!! I just faded my hair and colored it. Cut my long nails down took off my lashes and being natural… but yes next week i might be feelin extra again!🤷🏾♀️
Why do you care about others’ opinion about what you do with yourself lmao that’s stupid
Omg that’s the lady from that show on the OWN. No wonder her hair be flawless, she goes to a dope hairstylist!
This is exactly why I learned how to do my own nails during the pandemic acrylic and gel and trust and believe I save so much coins now!! Next will be learning how to put my own tape in extensions in maybe recruit the help of my dear daughter but these prices are getting ridiculous!
I haven’t been to the nail shop since right before the first shut down. I hear a full set can run you 100 now and a mani +pedi is about 150. Crazy
@@mssha1980 Yes the prices are crazy and honestly since doing my own nails I have notice they last way longer until the next filling. The salons the majority especially the Asian ones put too little product to make the customer come in sooner and make more money.
@@skysthelimit8394 yea they even put paint thinner in the gel polish 😩
They’re overcharging just to do it. I made my own for the first time almost seven years ago and they’re EXTREMELY easy to install. They are also done quickly. I just don’t get it.
how much is she charging? Where has she indicated the price?
It looks deceptively damaging to me. Ppl find out after it’s too late.
you know when you wish someone like her lived near you cuz she does hair so good??? 😩😩😩😩😩 sigh
Ladies who list YAAAAAASSSSS!!! I miss you guys' show. That's why your hair always looked bomb!!!
I was wondering was that one of the ladies. She look different without makeup on. She look much younger.
Thank you, thank you THANK YOU for not putting baby hairs on her. This look is natural and beautiful.
I wear wigs, no baby hairs for me.🥰
I don't understand the obsession with the baby hair! It's not natural...unless you're a baby! Seems silly.
For the life of me I will never understand that baby hair thing. Where did that come from?? No one's hair sticks to their forehead like that lol
I am not a baby and don’t need not one baby hair lol
I miss hair being done like this. These days everybody got on wigs that look crazy.
Worry about yourself

So what
@@asiam1528 I bet you got a raggedy one on right now don't you. With edges glued all weird don't you.?🤭
Can I just add the over the top effed up supper obvious long thick eye lashes with one blink you could take flight in the air. Smh. Ladies seriously can ya be any more obvious for attention. What happened to tact. I guess no one does that any more. 😔
This is NOT a new or a (more importantly) protective style. It’s fast for the stylist and they have the audacity to OVERCHARGE for it. Don’t get played 💛
Fast for the stylist? She asked for tape in and was you there?
That the point I was making too
Everything isn’t about protective styles. A lot of protective styles are damaging y’all hair because y’all use it as an excuse to be lazy.
The young lady getting her hair done... Is such a smart woman & she gets to her coins. "Women Who List" Atlanta. I really like her personality she seems humble & realistic.
It's Ladies Who List: Atlanta
@@josephinebournes8212 yeah... That's it... I can't keep up with all these names for the reality shows.... It's so many...lol.
I was wondering why she looked familiar. All she care about was making money 😂 I loved it
I just posed the same question, yep I like her, no nonsense and she’s about her family and her business.
I thought that was one of the ladies from “Ladies Who List: Atlanta.”
I just love how you beeen doing these and microlinks and I can tell you still care about your clients hair.
I think a lot of stylists jump on this wave of new hair styles and truly don't know how to care for the health of there clients hair. Big ups to you !
Yes she does a great job. She is completely booked and can’t take on any new clients. I wish more stylists would take the time to attend a class or watch training videos to learn both how to properly apply, remove and care for the hair. You’re right many now trying to jump on the bandwagon based on watching RUclips videos. Again, not sure why now this is such an old technique. Don’t have to wait for everyone else. Any styles or techniques performed on hair can be integrated into African American hair. Don’t have to wait until everyone else is doing it. Be a trailblazer. Not just trying to make money and don’t care about the health of the clients hair.
Beautiful ...truly a work of Art. How long does it last on average
the problem some of y’all have is that y’all be wanting everything to be 20 dollars or less. it don’t always work like dat.
😆
I’m not willing to go over
$300 for a single style. Most will only last you a month without maintenance or little maintenance. It cost 240 for me to get my hair done weekly. So I can justify paying 300 or less for a style that will last me a month.
Exactly!
Yep! People work hard to install it right, but then they put all those swirls “baby hair”that look as fake as hell. Somebody might look at your hair and wonder if it’s real, but when all those gel swirls are there,we KNOW it’s not real. Saw one girl and the fake baby hair was almost to her eyebrows.🤷🏽♀️
Yes. ATL!! Black Women who list!!! Such an in-powering show👍🏾
You went back with the instrumental. I remember when I first started watching RUclips, I will hear this instrumental and it's so smooth.
This install may be expensive but is so gorgeous. Looks so real like growing out her scalp.Beautiful job is always!!!
My biggest issue with leave out is how difficult it is to blend such drastically different lengths. My second biggest is how much you have to manipulate your real hair to keep it looking decent. As soon as these curls fall, its gonna be *so* obvious where her real hair stops and the extensions begin. God forbid a week of humidity. I rather you see the holes in my lace than to see 4 inches of semi-textured hair amidst some silky weave and trying to manage it too often with hot tools *shudders* dramatic, I know.
🎯
This.. 💯
You can always get extensions that match your texture. I personally have Afro straight tape ins so matter if they get wet or puffy my hair still matches. Also looking at her hair it looks like it’s relaxed I don’t think she has to worry about texture toooo much 🤷🏾♀️
@@CiyMcD I get that, and yes her hair is relaxed but there’s still texture to it. It absolutely doesn’t match her extensions.
@@courtneynel7433 I agree her texture match was bad, but don’t let that stop you was my point there are tons of companies making textures that actually match us now.
Why would tape in expressive be the most expensive style? They’ve been around for years for all nationalities. Faster, quicker, easier to put in than sew in or microlinks. Wore these in college along with microlinks both cost less cheaper than sew in. Many stylists wouldn’t do on ethnicity hair but those that did charged basic prices.
Its because of the it's popularity now. Stylist are charging 500-700 for an initial install for tape ins or micro links and charging 200-300 for maintenance every 2-3 weeks. The cost is ridulous now. 500 for install and 2 weeks later another 200 for maintenance. 400 dollars a month for maintenance. It's recommended to leave microlinks and tape ins installed a max of 8 weeks before having to do a new install. The styles are now definitely an investment. Not like they use to be, especially microlinks
@@andrearenea2049 Yes, that is unfortunate b/c these styles have been popular for over 20 years in other communities. They are quicker and easier to do than traditional sew-ins. Celebrities been wearing these styles, I wore tape ins and microlinks years ago. At that time many african american stylists were reluctant to do these styles. Fortunately, there are still stylists out here not charging those high prices for simple easy styles. Once you get the hair for tape-ins if it is of high quality it can be reused and it not time consuming or as much work as needle and thread sew-ins. Maintenance: there are stylists that have been doing these styles only charging a 1/4th of that for maintenance and installs. What is justifying these high prices? Just b/c it is popular now. We been rocking these styles before youtube.
That's the same question I have about the silk press. This is basically the same as a press & curl. Or a wash & set. Stylists are ridiculous these days with their fees. Along with deposits and late fees some charge. Smh
@@Lovely-ff7uv i never understood the silk press thing. My doobie looks just like that with less time and heat
Right , I don’t understand when I officially start doing hair , I am not gonna charge no 500 for tape ins 😒 maybe for micro links tho .
Tape ins, definitely charging atleast 300
More customers regardless lol
This is crazy how expensive this is now, when I used to make tape in wefts myself 8 yrs ago it's very easy! People always want the latest trends at any cost. 🤦🏽♀️
oh so the process of doing the links period is what is expensive? I was trying to find out what is so expensive because she does these all the time so i wanted to see if anyone else found out what is priced so high.
She looks like the celebrity realtor that is on that reality show of BW selling houses in Atlanta , I can’t remember her name or the show. 🤷🏽♀️😌

Her hair always looked dope on the show she was on. I believe she's a real-estate agent. Now I understand why her hair always looked good.
I recognized her immediately from the show. That’s why I clicked on the video. Yes, she’s in real estate.
I'm a stylist and have been doing tape in for 12 year and have did them on all ethnicities but it know becoming more popular and everyone wants it now. I love the versatility and how you can give clients different color options also
Does it cause any hair loss or breakage? I'm looking for volume, because my I wn hair is thin.

So how much is the style because the video did not say
I wish women would embrace their own hair. I feel like the wig, weave, and extension obsession has sadly led to many women especially of color, (I'm a black woman in my 30s so I don't mean this in a derogatory manner)thinking they are less than without all these extras. Just take care of your own hair and it will thrive eventually. I understand there are exceptions for health related matters.
I agree with you 100%. Black women are so beautiful without the wigs, weaves, thick eyelashes, drag queen makeup, excessive tattoos. It's getting more and more extreme with each generation. YUCK! ☹️
HER HAIR IS BEAUTIFUL without all that madness…time for us to embrace what is us, so over all the FAKERY…We have been brainwashed to embrace fake boobs, booty and brows and hair, it’s one thing to enhance our looks another to let our looks dominate us…just one siestas opinion.
And what about the ones who wear afrocentric styles or get hair to enhance what we already have? You can buy afro-textured hair too. Don't put everyone in the same box.
What I've learned is to just do you. Because guess what? Even when we wear our own styles, people are all up in our business, worrying about what we got going on and trying to make us feel like we're less than.
It's mostly on black hairstylist's pages, I see negative comments about their prices. Pricing is not one-size-fits-all! If a stylist is out of your budget, move on.
Just because a technique or service has been around a long time doesn't make it cheaper. Thank God for the clients who pay and appreciate the hard work and hours stylists put in.
Agreed .. you never hear white women or Hispanic and Asian women complaining about salon prices 🙄
Thank you.
The first time I saw this technique done was the early 2000's. And the stylist cost was $1200.
Please keep in mind it took approximately 8-12 hours and it was split in 2 days
That’s a lie
Prove it. You weren't there.
I find these videos so relaxing. Like…I’m here for the style but also to get ready for a nap
I'm just sitting here appreciating all the work put into this. It actually felt kind of relaxing to watch. Beautiful job done.
Thank you ❤️
🤔I only hear music. When did she mention the actual price. How much was it?
I use half a tape in the areas framing my face for less bulk and more flexibility.
I take one tape and from the top of it, cut it almost in half without cutting all the way thru, then sandwich smaller pieces of hair .
Me too been doing my own for a lil min and trying different techniques
That’s smart!
Love Tiana 💕 still wondering where she got the purple jumpsuit from on the show. Lol
That's why I do my own install and removal. After a couple times you learn from your mistakes and get really good at it. I save $9500 annually doing my own hair. Right now I'm into the invisible bead hand-tie method. People without a license cannot purchase the hand-tie wefts in my experience, so my BFF who licensed hooks me up. I even do my own color and keratin straighten treatments. I'm not even going to discuss how I do my own lash extensions and polygel nails 🤣. I put my money towards myself yet with plenty left to invest.
It's cute but I refuse to spend too much on a hairdo. Just me, perhaps 😌
Beautiful results as usual 😍 I never knew it was the most expensive style. However, it's absolutely a great style that everyone can wear. The versatility is a plus & you can reinstall the pieces. Great work 👏🏼
Her hair is Beautiful 😍
In the way back, we used hair glue which was very damaging.
Her hair looks very pretty. Great job.

Mix half an aloe Vera plant, (the inside gooey stuff) with Jamaican castor oil ( the thick oil) half an avocado, and wet your hair let mixture sit for 30 minutes in your hair, rinse with warm water, use leave in conditioner ( personally I use Pantene, it's what work best for my hair) style as usual ( I wear braids about 9-10 months out of the year) you will retain your hair and it'll thicken. I skipped shampooing my hair everytime I wash, I cowash, condition and braid.no blow-dry when braiding. Hopefully this works for you.

How long does this usually last? Im assuming at some point the real hair would begin to revert underneath the tape, no?
Depends on hair texture fine hair 4-6 weeks coarser hair can go 8 weeks but the thing with tapes is the further they grow out they become more visible in the hair and harder to conceal when they grow out too far the hair itself though if it is good quality can be re used over and over

I'd prefer a sew in or micro-links maybe. I like to grease my scalp when it's styled this way (hence wash my hair more) & I don't think you can do that with tape-ins.
I understand that the price may not be realistic for everyone but many don’t consider the amount of time and money that goes into being a quality stylist. Education, products, and time is not free. You are paying for the time and money she spent perfecting her craft, high quality products that maintain the integrity of the hair, salon rents/utilities. Not to mention, stylists are entrepreneurs. They don’t have 401k match. They have to incorporate their retirement plan into their prices. Doing hair is a labor intensive job and they can’t do it forever. The price is the price, and if you can’t afford it then it’s not meant for you. And that’s ok.
Ladies who list my favorite show, she was always calm and mature.
