Hey Tim, you've been my teacher over the past three years, I can't tell you how much you have truly Inspired and influenced my ability to play and write.I have been playing for 53 yrs. No one person has ever had the enormous impact that you have had on my ability to play.My engineer turned me on to your channel when you first came out. Thank you so very, very much... Mark
"The amp pushes you into directions".....incredible truth in that statement! Unfortunately not all of us can fill a room with amps and great guitars. Serious envy, though I can appreciate great guitarists that play one guitar and one amp....still, this video is amazing. Loved the 12 string demo, the vox, and the matchless...
"I always open the Master Volume up on all my amps because I have a blast area downstairs, I have a vault, I can go stadium loud and then I bring it back at a quieter level up here" That's a MASSIVELY important bit of information right there. I would love to see a vid on that setup. I often try to go "D.I" but it seems there's just no substitute for VOLUME. Great vid as always
I love how you kind of have this dense gear environment around you that is reminiscent of the space shuttle. Yes, it's a cockpit. Blasting off in 3-2-1!
I was wondering how many producers and engineers say that they would love your set up for reamping but then you are such a pro and so experienced that your nuanced expertise would get them the results way quicker. Great sounds.
I’m starting to finally realize the tone is in the hands of the player because Tim is distinctly Tim on just about all those amps! The Naylor and Park he really shines on!
Tim you sir are without a doubt one of my favorite guitar players of all time. You have something in common with Kirk Fletcher. You both always have a smile on your face....you love what you do, and so do I.
Finally, after all these years, I have found the piece of kit I really need. It's called a blast area, and it shall live downstairs! Just need to win the lottery, and it's sorted!
Thank you for taking us on this tour of all your great amps, played at aerobic volumes! Just the best sounds. Your blast room for the cabs is a great and enviable setup. 😋
I still haven't outgrown my Naylor. Always gives me an adrenaline kick when it's loud, and strangely enough it's also the best low volume amp I've ever owned.
Same here man. Takes pedals like a champ (I prefer it with big, bitey marshall style pedals) and has more tonal options than any amp I've owned. With the high and low gain inputs and bite switch I can make any guitar sound amazing.
Tim Pierce Guitar That just mean the world to me...! 🙏🏼 your videos are treats and indulgences i watch when i should be working!!!🤣🤘🏻You are THE MAN!!!!
That 12 string Danelectro sounds very good...(hey all, EBEEP in a reply pointed out that it's not a Danelectro, but rather, is a Jerry Jones guitar that is Dano-inspired).
@@ebeep Really?....now I have to watch again and take a closer look, haha!...and look for Jerry Jones website after I'm done with that...I'll edit my comment, and give you a shout out in it...hey, thanks for the correction and hope you and yours are well!
@@RobTackettCovers, thank you Rob and hope all is well with you and yours as well! I'm actually on day 5 of quarantine but got my first negative test result back today and no symptoms, so things are looking good. Still have to do the 14 days regardless, so here I am, binging on Tim's fantastic RUclipss :)
Wow Tim you have the best job in the world. As most of us around your age with long gone faded dreams of being rock starts, trudge into the office each day, it is really uplifting to be able to watch someone with your talent and enthusiasm have the opportunity to play such great gear for a living. Keep doing this stuff mate. Cheers from down under,
I love the Bell and Howell! My first "amp" was an old reel to reel tape recorder. I would plug my first electric guitar, a Gibson ES 330, and get incredible distortion.
Alexander Brown A friend of mine searches for old, odd, tube amplifiers to use with his blues rigs, and uses a Bell and Howell film projector amplifier for one of his. Another is the amp from an old organ. They are not powerful but they sound very authentic for blues.
I don't about "dumb words" . As soon as you strummed that Plexi,I got that feeling; ZZ Top "Master of Sparks" . I believe that's what Billy was running Pearly through on those early albums. "Gushy" . Thanks man.
Amp 6 Joe Morgan/Vox AC15 was my favorite also with that vintagey bottom end grabbed my ear. "Transport's me back to 1965 all though I was 7 years old I was dreaming about this stuff" @ 9:30. Gifted word's of the master behind the curtain. And, "the bottom ends seems to explode a bit like vintage transformers do." Marshall is a given especially for more kick/projection. I'd like to see a video about the keyboard & video controls & how you que up so many things so readily with it. Backing tracks, amps, pedals all seem 1 click away, he's a magic man.
You must have worked your ass off Tim to acquire all of those great and some iconic amps . And i have to say you looked so content and happy ripping out riffs n melodies on them . Thanks for sharing it tim.
That was fun. Nothing like trying to describe the feeling of an amp under your fingers. Squishy, lots of bite, chewy etc. It is truly the beauty of having several amps. Thanks Tim, that was inspiring.
Tim, I’ve been asking many RUclips figures and getting different responses. I’m recording an album with John Sines Jr. We are recording at Liberty University, and it’s a huge studio. I’m talking $300,000 console alone. Multiple sound proof rooms, amazing rack gear everywhere. Stupendous pedals and amps. The amp I decided to use was the Matchless Clubman Reverb. They custom ordered it for around $3,000. Nathan, the engineer, told me no one uses it because they rather plug in through Kempers or profilers. Most of the people he works with are college kids. I’m only 18, but that amp is amazing. Why is it no one uses it? It is the best amp I’ve ever heard.
Hello Tim! Two things: Thank you so much for adding the new structured courses for beginners to your Master Class - they are exactly what I needed! Thing two, my favorite part of this video at 6:01 and that's why I subscribe to your Master Class. Thank you.
The. Best I have heard coming from you. Very good explanation of amplifying. Concepts. Hats off to you. Sir. I am old school. Thanks. Amen. Guitar amps 😊
The video we have all been waiting for. It is nice to see the traditional components all guitarists know. But when it comes to amp switchers, mic preamps, and special post process effects many people would be enlightened with a tour of that side of the mothership. Thanks Tim.
What I learned today is I would prefer all the knobs of amps were not round so you can easily see the settings they point to. Keep downloading your brain into the Infosphere. I come for your vast knowledge, but stay because of your warm smile and friendly demeanor.
Love the Morgan AC15, that bottom end is radically different! These are all fantastic amps. You should profile them for the Kemper and sell the collection.

You are completely wonderful Tim. Thanks for sharing your spirit, your knowledge and your equipment with everyone. I used to play that Silvertone hollowbody in a band in college in the 80s. I just finished building a version of a Silevertone 1484, so it is good to hear all the comparisons as I tweak the tone of my first amp build. Thanks!
@2:24.... I see what you did there, Tim. There's a little bit of "Last Plane Out" by Toy Matinee... Keep reminding us what a genius Kevin Gilbert was. 👍👍
Another great vid from you ! Your enthusiasm is infectious !! Would love to hear more about the guitars you regrettably parted with? Also how about a series dissecting your session playing on some of the great songs you have contributed to :- ie - instrument-amp-settings-effects etc ? Thanks, and keep up the great work !!
Great amps, great video. I really enjoyed getting a taste of each one. It will really help me differentiate the sound of amps in the future. That Plexi is by far my favorite of the bunch.
I recently heard a live recording of the Stones, and they sounded uncharacteristically thin. I noticed that they had Fender amps. Their characteristic grind that I love so much is due to Ampeg amps. With more experience, I have become more impressed with Ampeg and less impressed with Fender and Fender-like amps (of which there are many).
Yeah man - the words we use to describe our favorite tones are definitely understood by other players. Give me a nice chewy & greasy tone & I'm set for sure!! Keep doing the good stuff!!!!!!!!!!!🤘😁🤘
Holy Grail? - I've got a mint condition Marshall Super Bass head from '71 with the lead mod done at the factory. Its apparently just a Plexi. Its also insanely and unusably loud. Needs valves and re-capping, hasn't been switched on for more than 10 hours since new! Any buyers in London?! Lol
Easy to see why people are knocking at your door... monstrous chops, together with all that efficiency in switching between tones. Oh, and a helluva nice guy too :-D
Wow, what a set up! A vault for gunned cabs - that's wild! I was happy to see a Green Russian Big Muff on your desk and was hoping you'd play it through each amp, lol
I´ve followed THE Maestro since Springfields "Living in Oz". Then bought Tims first (?) professional album with Shandi and then Idle Cure and on and on. His guitar playing on the Mark Spiro stuff in the late 80s was just jaw dropping. "London is burning", was that you Tim? Jaw dropping stuff. Thx for your generous sharing of your knowledge! This 10 amp shootout is insane!
Tim reminds me of Jay Leno. When Jay is demo driving a car he smiles ear to ear doing what he loves ? By the same smile Tim obviously is doing what he loves playing and talking gear ? Go Cave Man Go !!!! Lol
Love the way music is still so fresh with Tim
He's still that 19 year old trying an amp for the first time
One of the best in his trade

That is the quest. To get your amp to bloom and not kill. Have the growl with not being fizzy.
You HAVE to crank these amps to get the true tone of the power tubes. All of those sound fantastic, but that Marshall...man I'm in love 😍
He has a video, older one where he shows that setup.
I love how you kind of have this dense gear environment around you that is reminiscent of the space shuttle. Yes, it's a cockpit.

More phrasing that tone I'd say. Lots of different tones were heard in this video, but his killer phrasing is a constant.
It helps that they’re all running through the same cab and mics!

so how do we judge sound, due the vault down stairs with master volume on full and not using and pre amp foot pedals, all seem to be close. ÷by 13?
Thank you for taking us on this tour of all your great amps, played at aerobic volumes! Just the best sounds. Your blast room for the cabs is a great and enviable setup. 😋
