Heroscape - How to play on large/epic maps. Read description

  • Game format:
    Heat of battle (look up HoB rules on heroscapers if you don’t know what heat of battle is)
    Points: 450
    Players: 3-5 people
    You must have at least 250 points worth of heroes.
    Glyphs: There will be powerful glyphs and treasure glyphs in key areas of the map. Places that players would not normally go to because of for example, Lava, inconvenience, low ground, etc.
    Point system:
    It will be a point kill system, so the more you kill, the higher your kill points whoever has the most points killed wins. Divide the number of points by the lives of the heroes to know how many points were gained from wounding a hero. This eliminates players avoiding conflict with others and also does reward players who “play it safe” it also allows players who ‘s army gets destroyed first to still win the game by points and fighting early or getting gained up on.
    Battle condition: (Important)
    After the first round if your army doesn’t attempt to attack, do a negative special power, or a negative glyph affect, on an opponents figure at least once during the round, then you will have a wanock glyph affect on your army and must distribute a wound if you roll a 2-20.
    Theme: Purpose to avoid placing ranged figures on super high ground.
    A thick fog is overlaying the tree tops making it impossible to have clear line of sight when attempting to target figures when you are attacking from the mountain into the woods and vise versa.
    Placement: optional
    You may only place up to 2 units on snow spaces when starting. You may not place any figures on road tiles when placing.

    I like your rules about having to attack every round and the point kill system. I frequently play in 3 person games, and there seem to be issues where one person plays passively and waits for others to wear each other down to just swoop in and win toward the end. This system would probably solve that.

      Exactly. This format was design to fix that issue as well as solve the time issue with have more players. We tend to like to have 3-4 people games. The primary reason for making this rule format is to make a competitive way to play on maps that are large and not symmetrical. It’s more realistic if the land isn’t symmetrical and also I have so many cool map designs that would never be seen competitively if these rules didn’t solve the issues of playing on a large map.

      Heat of battle placement allows figures like drow to start near the dungeon. But I don’t allow players to start on the road tiles because then controlling the road would be the primary goal. I want to push people to the edge of the maps by putting powerful glyphs near the places that are dangerous to venture in like the lava. It’s kind of like hunger games

      Well just don't fall in the trap, ally with the other player and destroy the coward 2v1. 😂FFA are all about negociations skills anyway.

      My all time favorite soundtracks come from attack on titan. This one is called “ashes on the fire.” Hiroyuki sawano uses a lot of super unique electronics paired with classical instruments and has the best sounding tracks. I recommend
