Catnap looked like he was willing to give his life to his god. Judging from the pose he did with his arms spread out in a “Yes my lord I am ready” gesture.
It kinda irritates me that this obvious detail the devs put was missed by a lot of people thinking that "oh, The Prototype is gonna save him"

I honestly think catnap did that like a way of “thank you” for “sparing” his life cuz he look scared at first

When CatNap instead of grabbing the Prototype's hand, what it does is to put both arms on the sides. It could mean that CatNap effectively let himself be killed by the Prototype by offering to be part of it.

As much as CatNap is very dangerous and scary, it still makes me sad that underneath the toy is a little boy that was brainwashed into murder and violence. Theodore was probably very scared.
He wasn't brainwashed, more like his devotion towards the Prototype and his years of imprisonment drove his fragile mind to insanity.

Catnap when he first saw the Prototype was like “My lord, I am sorry” to “It’s my time…? Yes take me with you!”
no, actually a couple minutes back Ollie says that catnap got into a injury, and the prototype like revived catnap, which is a detail that takes use later when catnap gets flamed and the prototype appears the devs made it seem likes its everyone would react like: NOO the prototype is gonna save him again but catnap gets stabbed in the mouth instead.

Catnap could be either believing The Prototype is there to save him or, judging from his pose, knew what was happening and accepted his fate. Makes sense since the developers left The Prototype’s actions massively ambiguous save for those few tapes.*
I find it how CatNap died was somehow foreshadowed when he was still Theodore Gramble. If you recalled Theo was injured when he use the Green Hand GrabPack, ironically CatNap was Scorched when we Electricute him with the Green Hand.
even if CatNap's dead, i just hope that Theodore's soul can be free
Fun fact: Before Theodore became Catnap, he was mortally wounded the same way we defeat Catnap. Theodore was secretly trying to let the prototype escape. After he was electrocuted in doing so, the prototype took him back to Thomas Clarke.
Hence why Catnap aka Theodore sees that thing as its god.

To think Catnap just knew what Was The Prototype is gonna do. He just got down to his knee and just let himself be killed to his “God”. That was the most disturbing thing I saw as he just left himself behind taken by him.
The way I see it, at first, Catnap was scared by The Prototype because he knew he would be punished. But then The Prototype holds his hand out, showing Catnap that he’s here to help. Catnap gets up, thinking all that he’s done over the past decade or so has finally paid off, and then The Prototype strikes at his most vulnerable state.
CatNap does the same pose it did when it prays to the shrine. It’s accepting its fate and letting it’s god (the prototype) take it.
“Yes, my lord. Take me…” ahh scene 😭

My personal theory is the Prototype wasn’t originally going to kill Catnap as you see it’s hand offering to help him, but Catnap instead offered his life up to the Prototype.
That's a good theory actually. When Catnap literally did the pose with his arms spread he really said: My master I am ready. He is offering his life to Prototype.However look at Mommy long legs. When we are killing her, she is saying : You will make me apart of him!, so she was against prototype I guess.So for now we can assume that prototype has body parts of Mommy long legs and Catnap. I think he will need more of it. We don't know if he took huggy's body, cause it isn't showed, but I assume he didn't. Imagine fighting against Prototype with Huggy Wuggy . Anyway, we will see what chapter 4 is gonna show to us
I have a feeling that the Prototype will have a head that you have to yank off. Remember in the first chapter it said “Do not fire the grabpack at a co-worker” and it Showed a picture of someone getting their head ripped off?

it sucks that catnap was hyped up so much just for him to appear for around 5 minutes and die. i wish we got more catnap content.

Keep in mind that Catnap was stalking us in the entire game, so even if we didn't see him a lot, he was always there, looking at us from the dark
If you ask me, they handled him better than FNAF did with Vanny
Some seem to believe that Catnap was sacrificing himself to his god, but I like to think that in his wounded state he saw the arrival of the Prototype as him saving him and striking us down, and I think his pose is more him showing his devotion, than immolating himself
Or maybe he expected to be healed by it? Like how he was saved by the Prototype once
Apparently CatNap is the "final obstacle" before the Prototype, unless if something like Huggy returns as another frankenstein-esque version of him because we don't see the Prototype take Huggy.
I have a theory. Kissy’s unseen assailant(s)…aren’t the small Smiling Critters still around? Calling it now: Next Chapter we deal with Kissy’s corpse being puppeted by the remaining small Smiling Critters

Huggy is full on dead, his head was on a stick without his body, like the stick or pole stabbed into his full head Sticking out from the top.

just a quick realization... the prototype can do multiple voices and stuff like that.... what if the other guy who was helping us was actually a giga brain play by the prototype, and was just tricking poppy and you for a fool

He was a cruel Hunter who killed and tortured tens of toys that didnt want to follow the Prototype.
Even though he was a kid transformed into a monster, he’s still responsible for what he has done. He didn’t deserve sympathy nor the quick death he got

The combination of both would be interesting to see.
I took it as less of “I offer myself to you” and more of “I worship you for saving me again” because betray would fit the prototype I think. Especially when he killed innocents and villains alike.

Well everyone is commenting the same thing so it's my turn; Catnap had the opportunity to escape...since as you can see Catnap was walking away when he saw the prototype but instead...he decided to give his life to his ''God'' and as a curious note Catnap is defeated in the same way when He died as a child electrocuted by the grabpack :'c

This gane is amazing but i just wish catnap have more screentime and perhaps a chasing scene in the middle of the game before the final boss fight 😅
The Prototype is not a god. He's a monster among monsters. The only question is... Who was used to make the prototype? We know that seemingly all the toys were made from orphan children, implications point to the even the bigger ones like Huggy, the Teachers, CatNap, and the dog all being children as well, but what if the prototype is made of someone NOT a child? We know he combines parts of the others, but does that mean we might see the others again in some way... reanimated... an adult controlling a bunch of "children"?

5:20, there's 2 ways to go about this. Yes, it could be like a weak spot, like, if you reconnected with it then you can charge the hand and use it against the prototype. Or, we get another green hand and the prototype incorporates our original green hand into its design to use against us. The prototype could have a charge station inside of him, one he's connected to the green hand. You lead the prototype to different unpowered stations around the boss area, making him power them and in return unpowering his station, to which then you take that power to use against him. If you can not tell, I like the latter more.

I like how some toys can differ to how they see Prototype.
Mommy was obviously afraid of him and she never wanted to be a part of a amalgamation yet she particapeted in Hour of Joy. While CatNap just willingly does it, its like if toys that serve well to Prototype fail to kill us they would let them be a part of what 1006 is becoming. Others are afraid if him and tend to hide somewhere and rule their parts of the factory before...obviously, we come in, screw everything, they lose it, attempt to send us to 4th demension, and die because they were blinded by a one thought: kill.
I wonder if one of the "bosses" will be a, "Here are all the ones you (the player) killed? The Prototype likes to collect data as well. He collected personally each one you didn't just outsmart or pass their challenge.
I do agree that it was more of a mercy from the hand.
Considering that Catnap and the prototype were pretty close even before Theo became Catnap this was probably his way of putting him out of his misery.

I see a lot of people saying that they think Catnap sacrificed himself for the Prototype, I really don't think that's the case the more I see it
The way I see it is that when the Prototype appears, you can see that Catnap is initially scared by it, hesitant to get close to it like he's about to get punished, but the Prototype gestures him to stand up and offers a "helping" hand, and then it feels like Catnap starts worshipping as well as asking for forgiveness for failing to kill the MC, but then he ends up getting betrayed and killed
Well, you can tell that he knew what was going to happen. He made a rapturing gesture, like he was ready to be killed by him, so yeah.
