I can totally relate to Denise's feeling when she got sent to the back of the class.
Back in school, I was one of the example students of the class. Nowhere near the top academically (only 85th percentile), but discipline wise I was exemplary. That was until a period of time in which I got lazy and accidentally forgot to do my homework. I was sent out of the class and oh my goodness, the shame and horror I felt... such a simple and mundane punishment scarred me for life. 7 years later today I still remember the incident vividly. Needless to say that broke me out of my lazy phase.
Tbh all my life I never sat in the last row of my class
I was a topper and I made new friends in grade 9 which are really sweat and kind the only thing was they were
