I like it cause it sounds like a happy celebration. Red Wine is kind of sad, when you know it's about alcoholism. Much like good banjo music is about suffering but has a happy sound.

This is our national steel-pan of trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹😊 we are very proud to say that countries world wide plays our national instrument. And I must say this is very great and awesome video 👌😉❤️
To the doubter who thinks this is a fake: FYI this is a highly tuned tenor pan, a percussion instrument made from oil drums. The origin is from the island of Trinidad in the Caribbean. There is a whole lot to be told about it. As an example, there are steel orchestras on the island and they practice in their different domains called panyards. Their musical talent ranges from pop to the classics and a variety of local compositions (soca) This instrument is now recognized worldwide
@@1Live2Love3Thrive it just cut and chipping a steel oil drum to turn into this and just play it there is no vodoo or magic in this it just like if you try to beat a drum beat on a tin , a board box , table or car
I don't know the name of the one who discovered how to turn a common oil barrel into the steel pan, but I bow to their genius. What an amazing instrument. Nothing else duplicates the soothing sounds. Love the music!
I absolutely love the steel pan. I am so glad I was able to take it in middle school, That's where I first learned about it and fell in love with it. I am currently a senior in high school and don't plan to stop there. I have played alongside Liam Teague and Tracy Thornton in a few concerts.
Why the steel drum soothes my soul I will never know but know this. Your music has gotten me through some hard times @danodrum. Thanks from a friend in Michigan who needed some help. Keep on a playing in the band. I will always be here just a swaying to the beats. Tell your band mates the same. O and Thank you so much for the beautiful beats.

For many of us it's impossible to listen this "Island Sounds" and not be transported to the Island Landscape. (I hear some birds, not sure if natural or recorded) I'm astonished by the way an instrument like the Steel Drum can be mastered. Steel drums have a very interesting history by the way. Thanks for letting us to enjoy your talent.
What a sensational sound those steel drums are ,I came a steel band in Blackpool twenty odd years ago near the war memorial oh my god the sound was absolutely amazing like manna from heaven the crowd kept cheering them on I simply didn't want to go home I was under a heavenly spell
used to play the steel drums in primary school back in 1989, blue moon and "coconut woman is coming out and every day you will hear her shout - get your coconut water" among others. great instruments wish i kept it up :)
This is great! Red Red Wine was the song that introduced me to UB40 and I have always loved the steel drums so this is perfect. Credit where credit is due Red Red Wine was originally written, performed, and recorded by Neil Diamond way back in 1967. This song and I are the same age.
I just searched for steel drums & this popped up ...not a bad choice ..i used to hear these played when I would go to the beach with my parents as a kid
I'll never cease to be amazed by this instrument. I can understand all these notes coming from different sizes of, say can. Or from hitting different lengths of string or wire. But all these notes come out of one vessel!

My mind seriously can't understand how it makes such different sounds from the same piece of metal. It sounds more like a xylophone
