"The Bare Necessities" is from Disney's "The Jungle Book".
Music Written by Terry Gilkyson
Originally Performed by Phil Harris as Baloo
This version of the song was produced/ arranged/ and sung (singed?) by yours truly, please be kind on the upper harmony parts, I'm not a tenor.
Mixed by Ed Boyer. Thank you, Ed.
🎸 I used Native Instruments Session Guitarist "Strummed Acoustic" to create the entire instrumental to go along with this song. It's an incredible plugin and if you should want to check it out - here's the link: bit.ly/3fvp1yN (this is not a paid endorsement, but Native Instruments...send the check 🤣 )

Freaking amazing Geoff! Thank you for this. One of my best friends is a huge fan of yours and is geeking out for this vid! He is getting really good at vocal fry and is working on approximating your range :)
You are are incredibly talented!!!
Geoff: I'm not a tenor
Also Geoff: killing the high note beautifully
Geoff: I'm not a bass
Also Geoff: G1
Jamie Milbourne hahah, he does that through a technique called subharmonics, it gets your note an octave lower
Edit: Ya, he can do it in chest too, but the subharmonic technique helps too! Sorry for the confusion guys!
Just like when he was in toxic audio and they covered Grace Kelly. He hit high notes at the end after singing bass notes throughout the rest of the song
@@sirploom nope, he hit a G1 and even an E1 in chest at some point
@@amber-yj1gm At first I was surprised by Geoff's high notes in this and then said outloud to nobody, "but he did do those high notes in Grace Kelly"...

A common choir joke I remember was that basses made the best tenors. It's obviously more to fuck with tenors but there is a slight truth behind the fact that basses tend to have SUPER strong and controlled falsettos.
Always loved basses in their head voice
@@xxgremlinsxx So true. And not just in choir, in most musical areas. Basses are just good at it all
Seriously! When I was a small child, a pediatrician thought that I’d be a low bass-a Bass 2. When I finally sang choir 40 years later, the director put me as a Tenor 1.

VoicePlay: So Geoff where can you sing?
Geoff: Yes
Can we agree that if we hear him singing Hellfire would be AMAZING?
It would, but I'm not sure he'd cover it as it's kinda overdone at this point (plus there was a snippet of it in the Disney villain compilation)
Yes
YES!!!!! That would be awesome
Absolutely
I don’t even now what that song but it sound cool as hell so yes
So, Geoff, I hear you’re interested in joining our vocal group. What part do you sing?
Geoff: Yes.
🤣
Not only does Geoff sing pitch perfect across a unbelievable vocal range, but his rhythm and sense of timing is impeccable. He really makes this old classic swing. What an artist 😊
One thing that I find amazing about him is all of his songs, his whole range, is so effortless. He doesn't strain to hit any super high nor any extremely low notes. It all has a gentle, relaxing sound.
His vocal range, is just out of this world.
I am getting addicted to hear his songs ❤😂❤
Now i cant speak for everyone, but i can pretty confidently say that we all want a full cover of Be prepared
Edit: and any Thurl Ravenscroft song would be *T H I C C*
Yes absolutely, that’d be amazing
You speak for everyone with sanity, dear friend.
You speak for pretty much everyone, I hope Geoff does it soon, imagine him singing deep notes throughout the song!

Hello Geoff. I love your incredible cover of SIXTEEN TONS written by my father, Merle Travis. Tennessee Ernie Ford made it the hit that brought the plight of coal miners to the world eye, but it is also a song that any person that feels they work hard without getting ahead can relate to. Your voice is just, wow! Thank you for sharing your talent.
xo Merlene
Your dad was amazing Miss Merlene! He's one that I wished was immortal when I was a child ❤️
Bless you and thank you and you’re family for the wonderful song! I’d hope to get some more acknowledgement on this. If you could perhaps make a video on the subject, that might be appreciated! Thank you

I think a Disney villain cover would be great. Be Prepared, Hellfire, or Friends on the Other Side would be fun. Or of course, a Thurl song. Love the chest G1’s, too :)
Love to hear a Thurl song and his Phat G1 is probably his best since white Christmas
@@Marcell0Bass Funny you say that . I've been thinking for the past few months, how it would be if Geoff sang a Thurl song. I feel You're a mean one,Mr.Grinch is an awesome song quite popular, however the headless horseman is something that people never cover . Or even maybe an " Asleep in the deep ". Another funny thing, Thurl actually has sung bare necessities . Thurl's version was actually the original version for the Jungle Book ,but Walt Disney thought it and a few other songs were too dark for a kids movie , and removed those songs including replacing Thurl's with the version we know
YES HELLFIRE
It’s not a whole song but the ending of that’s what friends are for in The Jungle Book when Sheer Khan comes in with his big ole bass voice is one of my favorite Disney song moments

This song made me smile. I haven’t heard it for years. Thank you for posting it. I’m a big fan.
When he does the high-end quartet it proves that he has a 6+ octave range. He's amazing!
I think it’s just under 6 octaves
Marcello Bass either way that’s actually ridiculous. The only singers I know of with comparable ranges are Yma Sumac and Mariah Carey.
Umm.. maybe 5 octaves. 5 and a half octaves is between A0 and E6, top soprano note of POTO Aria
