Thank you, thank you for an excellent video, my motor just died, bought a new one and this is better than the Traegar video, well done and thanks again
I have a small Treager. When it came it had no auger motor. I ordered a new one but where exactly does the Molex connector connect to? I dont really see any available slots on mine.
what are the white wires on the right side that are tied up? I just bought a Traeger at an auction, and these wires/ropes are sticking out between the grill and the auger box. Wondering what they're for?
Thanks for sharing this, looks like an easy project but good to see it done. I'm amazed the motor frame isn't attached to anything. Was yours a fuse blow or some other failure mode? How old when it failed?
Keith Peterson Mine got jammed. I believe that lead to the failures. Separately, I was worried about how the auger on my treager didn't move at a constant rate. They guy at treager said that the motor was not mounted to the treager directly so that there was some play in the auger movement allowing the auger to break through tough pellets.
@@bgallaher77 that is clearly a pretty lame excuse for a flawed design aimed for a cost cutting. How they are not attaching the motor with no bracket to the body? How a wobbly design helps with tough pellets?
My auger jammed with wet pellets. I took out auger. One of the gears in the motor gear box stripped. I wonder if anyone has an old motor that I could get the gear. ???? My motor works but I need the small gear.
I have exact same smoker. There is clearly a flawed design of the auger. The motor is not attached with no bracket. It is completely free and only using a single panel it is laying on as a leverage when rotating. All this while the fan is attached with a bracket and 4 screws. Who would think?
Why wouldn’t you test the new auger motor before you put the hopper box back on, additionally since you had everything apart why didn’t you pull auger our and make sure it was clear, clean it and replace?
It’s 2022 and I just used this video. Very helpful and one of those videos that will be used forever! Thank you!!
Ha ha, me too. :)

2024 and this video saved me a lot of frustration. Cheers sir
Thanks for the video, going to be replacing mine tomorrow. Looks easy!!
Thanks for good video helped me with my motor replacement.
Educational and impressive. Awesome Cracker Jack job🤙🏿
Thanks for the video! The right tools make all the difference!!
Anyone else see that damn spider coming out of the hopper in the first 20 seconds???!!!!
Pellet tip: I bought a small shop vac to remove pellets. Works really good! Only use it for pellets though.
How tight should I have that screw you need the Allen for? Just snug or tight ?
How do u know the auger needs to be replaced? How do u check it?
Thanks so much for this video!
Why would my auger motor have a grounded wire attached to the corner screw? Nothing about that??
Hey why holds the auger down?

While the power from tje motor is unplugged, pull the whole auger out to connect it to the motor. Much easier to access that allen bolt to it.

They are for the temperature display on the readout to tell you what temp the grill is at
What size screw I just need the screw
Did you ever figure this out? I just need the screw too
thanks guy. :)
clear and concise video. Probably could have been 2-3 minutes shorter.

Yep. Very bad design what were they thinking?!
Mine is a 070 treager. Looks identical
Had my Traeger for less than 3 months and my auger broke. Waste of money!
Fan on backward

Don't bother tie strapping the wires, I've had mine apart so much that it's a waste. Just let them dangle.
