Wow, Guillaume, that is one gorgeous Platinum Plus! I thought it was beige at first. I love the dedication in pickup up the machine for #MARCHintosh! Also, I never saw one of those tool magnetizers. I just thought some screwdrivers were magnetic asd some not, and that's the way it was. :)
Thx! There is a demagnetizer part too when you want to put them back to normal: www.amazon.com/dp/B079HBCCFS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_CEWACFHCC7750K0KGHT9?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I winced when your arm brushed the flyback lead whilst the machine was on, you're a lot braver than me I wouldn't go anywhere near the inside of a Mac whilst the CRT is on! The finished machine looks really good though!
Salut, Guillaume. The Mac Plus has an NMI-like switch already embedded and it will even respond to gurus (bombs). There's an Easter egg that shows a picture of the dev team if you jump to an address in the debugger. On the Amiga, it looks like their guru alert code disables all interrupts at the beginning of that code. I was only able to get Action Replay to interrupt a guru on an Amiga, but triggering NMI did nothing (but you had hrtmon hooked and I didn't). It was pretty chaotic when the NMI was pressed after Action Replay had interrupted a guru (like a feedback loop that won't guru again). The NMI button also triggered a yellow screen during boot when pressed on the first grey screen. Will be interesting to see if you have similar findings. Very dirty and elaborate machines.
Salut encore, Guillaume. Here's the Easter Egg for the Mac Plus: eeggs.com/items/2258.html . I'm looking forward to your guru video that you mentioned you were working on. Maybe I'll buy a restored machine from you one day :)
I really love the background music you used in this vid, it’s somewhat mentioned in the description but I couldn’t find it anywhere. Could you drop me a link to it? Thanks
I think you did a great job and I enjoyed watching this video! My Dad had a Macintosh 512K, and it was great because it was my first experience using a graphical user interface. And there were some great games on it too that I played.
