all of these sound great but out of the ones I’ve read I’d highly recommend luckenbooth, fen and follow me to ground!! luckenbooth is one of my favourite reads this year and is super atmospheric ✨📚
So many great-sounding books! The ones that sound the most interesting to me are the Japanese short stories, Fen and Follow Me to Ground. The Only Good Indians is on my spooky tbr and I am hoping to get to it in the next couple of weeks 😁
love your copy of brothers grimm! i need to get a collection myself. i love the creepy (original) fairytales too. 😩👌 where the wild ladies are sound incredible! went to add it to my goodreads tbr, but apparently it's already on there. knfksfnsf i've read the deathless girls and i am on the fence about it, tbh. i mostly enjoyed it, but it does tend to be slow and isn't exactly centered on vampires despite how it's originally marketed as a sapphic retelling of dracula's brides. but it is okay, nonetheless! i wouldn't prioritize it, however.
Hmmm interesting, I don’t think the slowness would bother me, but the lack of vampires might. Although as long as it’s got a spooky atmosphere I can forgive many sins tbh
@@PagesAndStages it definitely has a spooky atmosphere somehow! the vampires show up beyond the halfway point, if i remember correctly. but it's still not a main focus. so just a heads up!
I'm voting for 'Plain Bad Heroines' because I've started it too and it would be fun to discuss it with you. It's okay - a lot lighter in tone than I expected because the unnamed narrator writes like gossip girl.
this is my vote for drive your plow! ☝️🤓 LOVE that book
also wakenhyrst by michelle paver is such good spooky vibes!
I really want to read Wakenhyrst, sounds right up my street

I’m really enjoying Luckenbooth so far, so hopefully Fen and Follow Me to the Ground will be as good! Thank you 💜

Ooh, if Once Upon A River doesn't make it, Katie Reads and Rants and I are buddy reading that in December and you could join in! :D
I would love that!!
@@PagesAndStages OK, will note down your name on my sticky note to remember (December does seem a far way off, doesn't it??)
I didn't find Friday Black to be creepy (I think. It's been a while!) but they were very interesting!
Good to know!
