Everything about this death is just perfect; the build up where this guy is just losing it over the damn corkscrew, the quick cut to Ted in a laughing fit, the fact he's suddenly completely silent when he gets stabbed, the stupid way he whips his head around, the sudden impact of the machete coupled with his expression, and the fact that the guy playing Jason is named Ted. This is one if those things that is so funny to me that even just thinking about it for a second is enough to make me laugh.
It was a meat cleaver not a machete. Pause at a split second after 0:24 and see for yourself. Funny thing is Jason doesn’t even get to use a machete in this one but has one used on him by Trish and Tommy.
The scene is actually very clever. If you watch when Crispin gets hit in the face, his hair seems to sway backwards. Well, it's a reverse shot. Ted White started with the prop on Crispin's face then pulled it back. Reverse it and it appears like Crispin is taking it to the face!
Jason's just like "hey, here's your cork screw, I'll just put it in your hand, oops, it stabbed your hand, here smell my machete. Oh I stabbed your face...my bad..."
Lol Jason kills people in hilarious ways. This is like the scene in part 3 when they are in the house screaming for Rick and Jason throws Rick's body through the window into the house lol
As terrible as it sounds to say I laughed so hard at the face he makes when the cleaver goes into his head and the fact that he doesn't scream or make a sound when it happens
Crispin Glover is brilliant. This scene shines in an otherwise totally unremarkable piece of trash of a movie. It was the only moment that stuck with me (so to speak) after I saw it as a young kid sneaking into an R rated movie. It's not just Glover's facial expressions, which are hilarious. After he's done yelling "Ted! Hey Ted!" he seems out of breath, so that when he finally croaks out "where the hell's the corkscrew" he's almost speaking with a hillbilly southern accent. It's a hilarious addition from a uniquely weird actor.
He raises such a fuss over the fancy corkscrew, but doesn't utter a sound when the corkscrew is jammed through his hand.
