I have maybe 8 years worth of experience with a cello (and a year with viola but we don't talk about that) so I can scarcely provide some feedback on it. At 0:22 it sounds like you transitioned between notes with the bow before your fingers had moved to the correct position; that or it's an intentional 16th note/grace note. Your vibrato is very nice, although perhaps you are doing it too fast? I'm not great at imagining it at other paces so I may be wrong, though do mess around with the pressure and the speed of your vibrato and see what you think sounds best. Obviously, what sounds best can differ between person, or even for one person between songs. Just find what's nice to you. I'm probably wrong on this one, but the note velocity sounds a bit off to me. Are you using the full bow? And onto general composition criticism. First, let it be known, I am NOT a composer, I am inexperienced with everything regarding it. My advice here should be taken with a metric ton of salt. If you have the resources available, look into introducing a lower register to your sound as well! If you have just the violin alone, see if layering it with you playing it an octave or so down sounds nice. If you can get a cello in the mix, it typically has a very nice tone and resonates well when paired with a violin. Definitely not just suggesting that because I like the cello. And it's completely fine if you don't follow what I said here; it's your song, you may be trying to convey something where anything I suggested here would ruin it. Enjoy your own work, don't feel pressured to be perfect. That said, very well written!!
