Actually, the Prince in this game is a nice character. He just doesn't care, doesn't plan anything. Lost is family when he was young and thought that attachment to some cause or belief is nothing but a way to waste your life for somebody else.
The dialogues in the game are really good. The little spats of him and Elika about gods, morals and life are amazing.

Completely fell in love with this game, from the combat, to the story, to the music, to the lovely environment. True combat can be kinda tedious but it's also very unique an entertaining. Elika is actually a secondary character that u care about an isnt annoying like u would think. Sucks we couldnt get a real sequel tho an was stuck with some half-ass dlc

Robert Maxim i just playing this game now for second time (just to play some older games) and i was playing two thrones before (also second time so i knew this games) and i played tt without using combos cause i don't have oportunities to usem them but in this pop i liked how this combos look so I'm always using them not just pressing square for sword or triangle for elika (I'm playing on ps3)
I like both systems but I think that in pop from 2008 more suits to game than that one in previous games
You have options but you don't have oportunities to use them

Xbox 360 and Ps3 is still the current gen... and its not going to die any time soon. Especially with the lack of games for the next-gen consoles. Give next-gen time to grow their gaming library in 1-2 years, then yes xbox 360 and ps3 will eventually die out. I have to ask though, since the game is on sale for 2.49$ on steam, is it worth getting?

I'm still waiting on that sequel. I think AC has had enough spotlight for a while now... I wanna see what happened after they walked into the darkness. Sure the Epilouge Dlc explains that a bit but i want a propper sequel to the new franchise. NO not forgotten sands. I somewhat hated that game (tho the wii version is tolerable).
This franchise has been on hold for 8 years now... Time to resume the PoP franchise!

I absolutely loved this game! The story, art, character design and physics are awesome. BUT WHY...WHY was the combat so awful? Like he said in the review, you cannot die and what kind of video game has no game over? And why is every battle 1 vs 1? I think Prince of Persia could have been a huge success if only the developers built a solid combat engine.

My only complaint about this game was how little combat there really was. Pretty soon I was intentionally slowing down and waiting for enemies to spawn so I could fight them. It's a hit and miss game, an awkward phase that showed great potential, and like the reviewer said it would have made an excellent sequel

I've only played this (halfway through unlocking the entire map) this year, and i think it's fantastic. The 1v1 fights are reminiscent of the DOS POP era, and even the core of the combat system in this is based on that.
It basically took all the platforming goodness of the Sands Of Time trilogy, and simplified the combat even further than they did (between Two Thrones and Warrior Within). In The Warrior Within, a lot of complaints came up coz "there was too much combat." The Two Thrones has lesser combat, but the complaint still pops up noticeably, but in a lesser frequency.
So in a way, the combat here is the answer to that, but... we're human. Now we complain there isnt enough combat. I personally like the Shadow Of The Colossus type of scarcity of baddies to fight. Makes each fight actually feel special and memorable, rather than fighting endless waves of minions and grunts.
The semi-open world is a great addition to platforming maniacs, and the addition of the light seeds, i think, are a good way to encourage exploration in this semi-open world. The downside is that there isnt much after the light seeds have been collected, but then again there are tons to collect and honestly is enough to stretch the length of the game to acceptable levels.
As far as characters go, Etika is an instant favorite NPC, and the new prince is much more relatable as the original one.
Sound and Art styles are also some of the best i have come across in video games. I just like the way the game sounds and looks.
The controls are spot-on too. Well, for the most part. There are times the camera angles make you misread the direction to tilt the left analog, and you jump a wrong direction, but then there's Etika to fix that mistake.
The lack of difficulty is a hit or miss depending on who's playing the game, but i personally love it. It's a breath of fresh air when everything else i love nowadays have brutal difficulties (the likes of Binding of Isaac, Super Meat Boy, Celeste, Super Hexagon, Cuphead, Dark Souls, etc.). It's basically just a different pacing, and still is somewhat similar to the rewind function in the Sands Trilogy, with unlimited sand. Also, Etika's saves is reminiscent of the brutal games' quick respawn system. Overall i just love how i dont have to get back to a spot before the boss or a platforming sequence. Just make me respawn right away, with the enemy back in full health.
Overall i think this game deserved a lot more positivity. Easily the best of the series for me even after only seeing half the game so far, and im sure i should be able to wrap up in less than a week of this awesome adventure title.
Havent found any flaws here, and even the aesthetics can still stand up to today's standards. 10/10 for me.

If i had to describe this game i'd say that it was ahead of its time. This game was amongst the first of its kind to value story/characters and design/art overall over the conventional aspect of a game and it got critisize for it. This game surpasses the previous trilogy in many ways. This game was ambitious. Fast forward todays, ubicrap is sh*tting an AC game every year, great.

in my opinion its a great game.
i happen to own it but i would reccomend a rental since the game is short with not too much replay except finding the light seeds things.
i thought the old POP were way better. this game is less puzzle oriented. there are minimal puzzle sections and when they do appear they are short and not very difficult.
the meat of this game is the enviornments, the great free running action, and the epic boss fights which are kinda like ani-matrix style.

Yes as everyone says, this game looks stunning, the world, the artstyle, everything is just graphically amazing. As the reviewer said, this games isn't much for the gameplay and combat, but more about the experience. The only reason (i think) is because i want to see what happens at the end, since i have a lame computer and i can only run this on lower settings getting decent framerates.

The art style looks great, but without any form of progression or difficulty, i have to give it rent. This holiday season has had a lot of great buy-worthy games like Left 4 Dead and FallOut 3, but like all the holiday seasons there are a lot second thoughts like Mirrors Edge and Persia. Good year though.

I loved the series. I played all of them. Still good in my opinion. However this prince of persia was my favorite next to sands of time and i will tell you why.
    1). The ART
2). A NEW prince. As he mentioned before EMO prince i do not miss. Sorry.
    3). The story
    4). The music
    Now for my Cons.
I agree with everyone about the combat. I just wish you could have died in the game. Them raising the difficulty level would have been nice. Them taking this out of the game did hurt it. I will admit this, but you have to look at it in a different way compared to the other. For instance, The game Journey is both beautiful, great characters, and fun story no combat in the game but it didn't stop people from enjoying it.
In all I loved this Prince of persia. I wish they would remake it with the same art style in HD and up the combat to HARD for those who want a greater challenge like Elika won't be used or something. :)

Same thing as Shadow of the Colossus. This is a piece of art, rather than a video game. One of the best cell-shading graphics so far, amazing story, awesome soundtrack, and an unexpected beautiful ending make this the best of the series for me.

@AnthonyTheAwesome500 thats right, and almost so was the 4th one wich didnt please me pretty much tough the environment design was badass..Id say the first one was adorable, the second one was awesomly great and the third one completes this circle
But forgotten sands was kind of short and simple, and the 4th one just doesnt find its place and ration in this franchise.

    Good thing I preordered it.
And I like that they used Drake from Uncharted Drake's Fortune for the voice of the prince (love that guy).

They really make a sequel to this POP version; it was beautiful, not a lot of combat but that's ok cuz combat itself is amazing and the world is beautiful to travel through

well imo its a very good PoP position. i has that Arabian feel to it. Nonetheless the difficulty ridiculously easy :D. However this one goes in pair with SoT for me. WW is still my fav :D. The PoP that's bad is imo FS. Feels like they made it to go next to the movie

Absolutely. And I always get the feels when Elika dies. One of the best written side characters in video games. Rasia from TFS is annyong and is just a plot device-literally you use her as a sword. Farah is annoying af. Elika is so relatable and lovable. Even if they gave you and ending choice-like you see a donkey and you are allowed to leave. I would still save Elika.

@PioloAskal2009 Yes and forgotten sands is set in the sands of time world. It would be silly for them to make a game of a movie based of a game.

I got to say that I had some trouble getting into it, but once I did, I thought this game was a lot of fun. Even though the controls are very easy and the game is very forgiving, it's still a lot of fun to nail combo's.
And this video really doesn't justify the games graphics. It looks a lot smoother and more detailed on my TV.

I've never had a problem with a game being easy. If it's really fun, I can play for hours. If it's too hard, I'll still work through it, but I tend to take breaks, and come back.
This game is currently $8 for PS3 and $5 for XBox...Why don't I have it yet!?

It's a very enjoyable game, though it's quite easy, combo's look cool, gameplay remains cool, though it takes about 12-16 hours for you to completely play the game. So, if it's somewhat 15 to 30 euros/dollars(or cheaper of course), buy it, it's worth it.

I played through the entire game, not because of the story (which is good), not because of the gameplay (which is boring) but because of the visual art style. It's unique and colorful, couldn't stop discovering environments and recover their true colors from corruption.

that happened to Warrior Within to some extent. Sands Of Time didn't sell as much as Ubisoft wanted (despite the fact it made to Greatest Hits) so Warrior Within was made action-oriented so that more people would enjoy it. This made the game lose a great part of it identity and charm. most of the action in the game is pretty mindless, and the amount of times you pass though the same spots is annoying, by the way, Still a great game, though.
