Professor Gustavo Gasperin teaches how to escape the Straight Ankle Lock from the Ashi Garami position.
I should have researched this a long time ago. Can't wait to try out this defense
How does this have even 2 thumbs down?
This was great
Thank you very much for sharing
Thank you!!
Got tapped by this. Found this video. Came back next class and escaped one. Thank you 🙏
Awesome Artem!
Another well described technique, concise and clear 👍
Glad you liked it!
Good details. Just watched the turn-back in-create base technique so now I've got a couple god different defenses for foot attacks. Thanks
Excellent slow clear directions very easy to follow and understand. Thank you!
Glad you liked it Elesabeth!
Thank you so much bro really needed to learn a defense to this
You are welcome Sebastian!
Very good small details I was missing
Can you please make a video on defending the ankle lock from the outside ashi garami?
Very nice. Will give this a go!
Perfect..
Great
thnx...could u make a vid on how to do the straight ankle lock
In the near future!
thank u...OSsss
He has a whole web series! It's pretty great!
Here's another solution. Bend your Iegs. Bending your legs gets you closer to him, making his legs bend, in turn he loses the lock
What do you do if they have a solid ankle lock? They short-arm the toes and bring the cutting bone to the ankle. Do you think this escape works without being able to flex the toes?
It still works but you have a shorter window to escape.
Great video ty, footlocks are such an annoying submission.... why? Because they take little skill, all that is needed is wrapping the foot... so thanks for the defence
Nice instruction
1. Flat my foot to earn time to defense
2. Get rid of his legs
3.Bring my butt out
👍
you got it!
Always grab his lapel
Drilled this today and my partner just kept threading his right foot over my right leg every time into another leg control position. Controlling the knee doesn't help.
Pinch your knees together after you escape so he can't thread his foot
Thank you Professor!
Looked over this once and I think I've mostly got it..the reason...emotional connection. After a higher rank did this to me I'm 100% locked into the details of how to not let it happen again (if possible). I think that this is going to be my new way of learning the sport. Get my ass kicked and IMMEDIATELY look up how to do better afterwards
Lol, and when you have no ability to just move his legs, then what?
Lol, then you just tap.
