In late 97 I was all of 16 years old, and remember watching a lot of FOX like The X-Files. Thanks for the memories Dave!! 👍
I was 17..brings back those high school years 😃
I was 15-16 myself.
In the Summer of 1997 I turned 21 years old. Those "post high school/no responsibilities yet" years were amazing (and the best time period, with it being the late 90's).
I was 3
Damn, in late 97 I joined the navy. Thought it was only going to be for 4 years so I could use the gi bill for college, but sept 11 happened right at the end of my enlistment and everyone had hiring freezes so I did 20years lol. I’m still stuck in the 90`s, even how I dress hahahaha. Most ppl is so serious now, I keep it chill though. More of a late gen x thing I guess. Be happy fuckers, don’t put your happiness in others hands, it on you.
1997 was the year I Graduated from High School,
These commercials from the 80's & 90's sure do makes me want to go back & be a kid again, lots memories
I miss the 90s so bad the entire decade was just awesome
Same here 😔
Wasn’t it though. ❤ My childhood ❤
Ah yes, the late 90s. Interesting times. Glad I got to experience them first hand.

Seeing the ads from a city that isn't your own is always gonna be a unique experience; that being said, I gotta visit the Twin Cities someday...
I love the 90s! Keep em coming
The 90's are still in the distant present.
Oh yeah, first that actually said something other than "first"
well said!
Yes 🙂
I still dress and act (mostly) like I did in the 90's. Never going to change and I'm happy.
Nah, kids now days will kill the Earth, if not each other.
I miss voice overs for movie commercials. I just love them.
Thanks for the memories Dave! I just turned 17 when these commercials aired, what a great time to be a teenager. Miss the 90’s
Ask Harriet could TOTALLY be made today.
Only it would be a drama
Man, I miss Right Guard clear stick. It smelled soooo good. 😭
Damn good tv back then. 90210, Friends, and great Friday night movies on regular channels like Mrs. Doubtfire. As much as I love the 80s of course these commercials were what I knew in my young adult years. Then a little later when I married. Although I don't remember star Boy or Phantom. I also remember Beyond Belief. My husband watched that. Great collection. Thanks Dave! ❤️
The Nickelodeon commercial just activated a very special place in my brain. A place i adore very much. Same with the comforting collect call commercials starring Ed O'Neil LOL. So many gems in this compilation. Always make me miss these simpler times. Thank you as always Dave
Hell yeah, bro! Same
Same. Dad made us call using an MCI card. We were too poor for 1-800 Collect. ROFL. 😂
Jesus 90s commercials just feel like a big party.
I cannot imagine paying around $100 for a set of 4 brand new tires. I just paid like $130 the other day just to replace one!
I'm so high, I've been sitting here waiting on the show to come back on.
Dave is a pretty cool dude.
Being from Minnesota, this hits right in the feels

As a 90's Kid Looking Back At My Parents Buying All The Fast Foods For Me As A Little Kids. It's Crazy ! Now I Buy It For My Kids. My Parents Had It Better Then I Have It Right Now... 💰💰💰💰💰

10 cents a minute for international calling.
Little Caesers pizza was 8 dollars in pre-911 money.
It's like a different entire society.

I was just thinking I could go for some Dave's Archives.
I'd forgotten about those "BEEE ALL THAT YOU CAN BEEE" Army ads.
8:48 The puppy in the food bowl makes me think about how the chocolate lab we had got picked. Apparently, he was laying down in the food bowl to make sure he got his share from the other puppies. Hershey was a character. I miss him.
Man, my sister loved Beverly Hills 90210.
Never, ever heard of Ask Harriet, but I really hope it didn't last long.
Based on episodes of King of the Hill & The Simpsons advertised, that tape was from Feb. 9, 1997
As someone who works for Frito Lay i actually was like oh cool a Frito commercial then i realized I still drive that same delivery truck smh
I forgot how old King of the Hill was 🤭🤗🫣
The clips look like it's from season 1, hey it's 1997. 😏😁😏😁😏😁😏😁😏😁
These are a work of art. I love these commercials
Thats pretty cool that The Simpsons were breaking prime time records over 25 years ago as the longest prime time cartoon beating out The Flintstones, then 20+ years later beating Gunsmoke!
What a gold quality channel damn ... glad I got you in my reccomend section
I Remember That Planet Lunch Commercial
That Saab ad is 🔥
I remember so many of these, I haven't seen them in years yet as soon as I see most of them I remember them immediately. Im 7 mins in and haven't seen one I don't remember seeing at least a couple times

Nothing like going back in time at the push of a button😏.
I Remember That Star Wars Movie Commercial.....That Kid Was Thristy Big Cup Style
All these commercials bring me back to my childhood. Thank you for making these and please continue to do so. BTW, when does the Cosmic Champions book come out?

Holy crap that was Al from Home Improvement in Doritos commercial
And wilson 's voice for the kfc commercial I think lol
@@mike91mdk45 his voice back then was confused for the guy that did the Dodge commercials back then. Everyone thought he was Wilson.
That Hardee's commercial with the tapped bumper. I'm a claims adjuster and this one irks me a bit because it's true.
If only dash cams were around back then lol

I Loved Fools Rush In. Thats a Good Movie
Remember when they showed you the Doritos cause they where actually loaded with flavor 😂😂😂😂
I use to work at 1-800-COLLECT around that year but got fired because I accidentally hung up on someone. I hated that job anyways. 😂
You got fired because of one mistake?
@@MeneTekelUpharsin yes, they sure did. The top supervisors listen in on your calls. Plus they didn't train us long enough. It was just too over welmimg anyways.

a episode of king of the hill from season 1 "brand new" man that makes me Nostalgic.
I love your videos. They are so soothing and amazing to watch at home when I want to relax 😊
Ed O'Neill and Calvert DeForrest should have done more commercials together.
I still called him Al Bundy around that time after the show ended.
I loved it! Thank you. Also, notice how much more fun and short they were?
For those interested, Ask Harriet ran for one whole season on NBC in 1998. It has a 0% on Rotten Tomatoes. EP David Cassidy. Yes, that David Cassidy.

Great memories seeing the original trilogy with my dad. Also wish they’d bring back team cheerios and cinnamon toast waffles.
I Remember 1800 Connect Commercial
I Remember Growing Up In The 90s I Wanted My First Car To Be A Saturn
19:29 Days when holding mobile while driving wasn’t considered as a misdemeanour.
Fast food companies really lost their marketing edge, seems way more effective in these older ads
15:48 Damn The pest love that movie
My heart.
20 wings for $5.99 oh my gawd
6:59 20 wings for $5.99....those were the days....🤤
RIGHT?! Insane how much more expensive wings have become nowadays. 🤦🏾♂️
Man, this was a little time machine for me lol
7:20 OMG LOL
I remember abusing 1800 collect back in the day. They'd give you 5 seconds to say your name so the other party could hear it. I would call my friend using 1800 collect from a payphone that would take incoming calls (there was a method to determine this). During that 5 seconds, I would say the number of the payphone for him to call. If the number wasn't marked on the payphone, you could social engineer it from the local operator. Good times!
OoCC is a great read. I miss the old Subway lol.
Al Bundy and Larry"Bud"Melman worked for a phone company in their spare time..
Man, this is a long break when the next episode of Goosebumps or Are you afraid of the dark?
The Star Wars "Special Edition" trilogy was released in theaters in January, February and March of 1997 (each film released a different month). It was a treat for those of us who grew up watching the films over and over on VHS tapes in the 80's and early 90's (or who remember seeing the films in theaters in the late 70's/early 80's). The release of these films re-ignited an interest in Star Wars in this time period (building up to the "Prequel" mania of 1999 and 2002).
This is just a snapshot of a moment in time, with the Cold War officially over, and the 1992 Los Angeles riots and the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing feeling like the last terrible things that would occur (because we had all learned to be better people after that, right? Surely we had learned our lesson?), and there was something about Clinton winning his 2nd term in 1996 (we didn't care that he had personal failings, because "it's the economy, stupid!" and who cares what's going on elsewhere in the world), there was something about 1997 to 1999, feeling like we had achieved "world peace".
January 1997 is also when "King of the Hill" started broadcasting on Fox, and that show proved to be such a commentary on the Millennium years (1997 to 2003, that's when the show was at it's best, even though it lasted until 2008 or 2009. Simpsons was arguably growing stale by this point in 1997.
Fast food was cheap back then
$15 dOlLaRs aN HoUr!!
I Remember Team Cherrios
Interesting that Little Caesars hasn't increased their prices in 20+ years.
I want to go back
Man I had the most fun I have had in my life since I've been alive so far from 1996 to 2004.
That 6-year run was epic! From 15 to the age of 23 is a great time to be alive lol. After that the universe starts to fuck you here and there a little bit. People pass away, grow apart, start families etc. Not saying I'm having a good time now but nowhere near as much fun as that stretch of time.
When you get older the responsibilities start to compound then you have a child and you can't live just for yourself. Every decision you make has to be thought about because you can affect your family's future.
The old adage enjoy life while you're young means nothing when you're young lol you don't realize it until your and your early 40s 🤣 Hope everybody has a excellent holiday season and a prosperous 2023
