What kind of film did you use?
..you should try the Minolta XD-7 / XD-11, this was the last metal-camerabody that Minolta produce in the late 1970s before they (like al camera manufactures at the time) went go for "cheap plastic" models.. But anyway, this Minolta XD-11 has aperture & shutter priority, compact/ solid build almost like your SR-T and is a nearly electronic slr..but very useable piece of photographic tool in this age...

I love photography and I've been watching photography videos on youtube for about 3 years now and it was always white guys over and over and over again, I really was wondering if it would be possible for me to carve out any space for myself in the community but then I discovered your content and while we come from entirely different backgrounds (I grew up in the Caribbean and only moved to America few years ago), it feels good to see a black person on here just being themself and creating a space for people like us. I got my canon ae1 program a while back and it’s crazy how fun it actually is to shoot with this style of camera. I also messed up a roll of film while learning to shoot film 🤦🏻♂️ but that’s like a rite of passage for all film shooters

I've used a lot of analogue cameras and this Minolta SR-T is one of the most precious cameras ever produced.
Thousands of women and men learned to shoot with this camera between the sixties and the eighties. It was an affordable camera all the time, a camera for anyone.
And Minolta built these SR-T cameras so well, so reliable and sturdy.
You can use it without batteries, only the light meter needs batteries, but you can estimate the light or you can meter the light with your phone.
The Minolta lenses are great too, for beginners a 50mm lens is enough. They aren't expensive.
When you purchase a fully working SR-T, never sell it. You will love it each year more, because it's so well designed, so sturdy, so straight and honest.
You're really straight foward with everything and that's literally why I enjoy your vids. Keep doing you bro 🙌🏽
