Kalyn this video is so beautiful and vulnerable in such a wonderful way. The way you just let us in to your plans with your partner, who is such an important part of your life, but you’ve been so good about creating boundaries for yourself, I’m just so happy for you. Hearing you talk about your future with him, and your future in general, makes me so hopeful for you. This video really touched something for me that I didn’t know I was waiting for from your videos, like a confirmation that you’re doing so well and coming into your own. Love this all for you! 💕

That was SO inspiring. I've been a city girl for 8 years now and I love my life here. But ever since the pandemic I find myself needing open space, nature and simply more quietness. However I can't "aford" to make the change yet workwise, etc. Remains to be seen. :)

I started watching your channel when you left Kingston to Toronto and this was such a wholesome nostalgic vlog which is extra special because I'm now at the stage of life you were then. I've loved watching you find yourself and it's given me hope I will too one day.

I definitely relate to the going out parts! I think the idea of "you're not having fun unless you're going out" is really prevalent but I just don't really enjoy it. I like going out early in the morning for breakfast or walks, but going out at night just to drink somewhere doesn't hold much allure. Once you're comfortable in your own skin and doing things you like, even if it means you have to do them alone, it's such a nice feeling.

Watching your intro literally made me cry. Watching you grow and transition from the different stages of your life has been soo inspiring. I loved this video! It was a step on memory lane but still more about the present than the past. I feel you girl! I lived 3 years in Milan, IT and now I came back to my hometown and home country and it just feels so much better. I am connected to my roots and my soul is more in peace. Although I am living in the second biggest city, it is a relatively small one and with my boyfriend we are planning in the future to move to the outskirts. A small village 20 minutes from the city (where our jobs are) but still in the forest. I cannot wait for that chapter of my life so this content just inspired me to want it even more!

I loved this look back. I am 30 and have just realized that like eating seasonally is great so is living. I have always tried to live my life seasonally and go with what I need in that moment. I love all your videos but your country life videos literally give me major cozy peaceful vibes ☺️

Kalyn, I feel so in sync with you! I moved to NYC when you moved to Toronto (same age, I was 21!). And watched you throughout the journey. I’ve been here for 6 years and since the pandemic, I’ve had a gut feeling for a change to get closer to nature, animals, and myself. It feels so serendipitous that you moved around the same time this gut feeling appeared. Thank you for filming your life for us, this was the sign I needed ❤️

Kalyn, seeing your journey has been so inspiring. I remember watching your city videos way back when. I'm so happy for you and this tranquil life you've cultivated and that you've finally found your person. You go girl! I currently live in a small gloomy town in the UK and moving to the city specifically Manchester has been playing on my heart for a while. I've been held back by my financial situation, my job and a sense of duty to my family by staying here but watching you always makes me want to take that leap. I'm not sure what the future holds but you've shown me that the independent living that I crave is doable and a great adventure so thank you for that 😊 sending you all the best wishes for your next chapter and the new year

I love, LOVE videos like this, they're dynamic (with all the images and breaks), moving and so insightful! Congrats Kalyn for everything you said, and the editing of this video, SUPERB! 🧡
I'm kinda vibing with what you said.
I'm not working full time in an office in Milan anymore, like I used to do pre-pandemic, I'm working from home and only one day in Milan.
I feel this sense of country life now, I'm not over-stimulated anymore.
I live in a not-so-small city, but definitely not as big as Milan, I don't have to commute every day, and I can do longer walks with my dogs, and take care of me in a better way, and I love this 🥰
Also, I'm finally living with my boyfriend, and now I get this sense of peace that you've reached as well.
Sorry for this lengthy comment, but this video was so amazing I had to share ✨
btw, SO EXCITED FOR YOUR BOYFRIEND MOVING IN 🥰

As a 27 year old who just recently bought a house during covid and moved from Ottawa out to the country, this is absolutely lovely to see! So many people my age are living that city life and i loved it while i was there, but it just didn't fit me anymore. It's so nice to see someone move out to the country and not be in a place to have babies yet or settle down in that way. I love this kind of content!

I started watching your videos right around the time you moved to Toronto and being around 16/17 years old at that time, and watching you grow I just feel so blessed that there are content creators like you out in the world because you truly have helped me grow into the woman I am today. I’m about to turn 22 and I am still here watching your videos because they bring me so much joy. Literally every breakup, hardship in life I have had, when I needed a laugh, when I needed a little clarity on life I would always watch your videos and I just really want to say thank you because you have genuinely impacted my life in such a positive way and have been such a big part of me learning to live my life to my truest self and to embrace who I am and life as it is. Like (hopefully this doesn’t sound weird) but like you have always felt like the big sister I have always wanted and I just think that’s pretty great. I hope to see only the most positive things come your way in life, and I just wanted to say thank you so much for being such a positive energy in my life and many others live’s.

You were the big sister i always wanted to talk to. It’s hard right now because my hometown isn’t feeling like home. And i want the country lifestyle. Something about being in the middle of nature makes me so relaxed. I used to go to a local forest in my neighborhood when i was young just to escape the busy city life. I’m 21 now and i can see myself in a year making the switch !!! Thank you so much for this video. You help me shine light on the truth of my life and my unhappiness!!! I had to pause and write this comment. What you said about Bentley and how much better are the country life for him- I totally get it. Not that I have ever lived in a big city. I live in a small town, and behind my house I would always walk my dog, and let her run free. I never liked using the leash, only when I had to, or when I thought it would be safer.. I can’t tell you enough how happy I am for you and Bentley. My dog was the greatest gift god has ever given me, and my time with her was the most precious to me. Enjoy every moment! ❤️🌞

I grew up in Vancouver BC in the bustle of city life, I’d bus everywhere, ride my bike to friends houses, could go from my school to the UBC campus village. I felt so grown up depsite only living there till I was 13/14, then we moved to Vancouver island into the forest and the wilderness. At the time I thought my parents where trying to make like hard, there are only buses Mon-Fri during the day, all of my school peers lived ages away and I couldn’t get anywhere by myself. It took years for me to realize how much more peaceful I found the rural woods we’d moved too, and now I can’t really go to Vancouver without feeling deeply overwhelmed and overstimulated. Going from counting sirens to go to sleep to frogs and birdsong has allowed me to root myself in a way I don’t think I ever could have in the city. Going forwards in my life I don’t really want to live in a city again because nothing can surpass the beauty of this lands natural magic

OMG Kalyn, this video reminded me of how long I’ve been here watching you. And your short hair were such a nice vibe on you 😍 I grew up in a country side villa in Sicily (Italy) and I could never grasp what it meant for my peers to live in city centre. I envied them but I loved my freedom/space/close relationships with so many animals. In 2014 I moved to Ireland and I still live in Dublin, just 15’ from the city centre and this is sucking my life away! Despite the calmness of my posh area (at insane rent price) and the closeness of 2 huge parks, I can feel the anxiety of a very fast paced environment, the pressure to go out and be more socially involved, the lack of real friendships, the sight of concrete out of my window and the importance of a high income to define my status. Jeeez, it is so stressful, I desperately miss my slow paced life surrounded by sweet animals and green fields, having my dog 🐶 and engage with other humans only for short events… don’t get me wrong, it was fun for a while to go to crowded bars/pubs/concert, receiving men’s attention and dancing all night with friends BUT it is not for me on a long term. I got exhausted, overwhelmed, disappointed as much as you did, and when pandemic started it reminded me of how much I love a more reserved/isolated life. Couldn’t relate more with you! PS: “he is going to move in quite soon” 😍😍😍 Congratulations guys on this milestone!!!

I absolutely LOVED this video and relate so much! I moved to Montreal from my hometown when I was 22 and then to Toronto at 25. I am now 31 and find myself craving a quieter, less "stimulating" (as you put it!) environment. My fiancé and I plan on moving back to my quieter hometown next year and I honestly think it's the best decision. We are ready for that next stage in life. Living in big cities was great in my 20s but ready for a more relaxed vibe. Spending money is so much more of a thing in big cities. Your money dwindles like crazy! A coffee here, a brunch there, constantly being surrounded by shops. That's one of the many things that I like more about a country life.

Kalyn you can't even imagine how accurate you were while describing the city life! I'm also a girl from a small town and always wanted to feel the big city vibes😄now that I'm here, in a big city, I sometimes feel lonely and if it weren't for the university, I would be moving back to a house with a garden😂
I'm actually so happy for you and every time I see clips from your house, I just know that that place is meant to be your home💛thank you for another amazing and interesting video, really warmed my heart, seeing your old clips from Toronto!✨

I loved living in the city. Yet at the same time I missed the country side bc I also loved having a bit more freedom with my home, a bit more privacy & fishing at the nearest park. Now I prefer living 15 minutes or so from the nearest city. It's a good balance for my shopping addiction & having my private cozy home life.

You inspire me so much! I lived in the city my whole life and have been in the country life for a year now. Trying to cope with being alone and scared out here at night mostly lol. So happy for you and everything you’ve accomplished🤍

This was so relatable! Moved back to my coastal hometown last year after 3 years of city living. Something about the pace of life here puts me at ease but it took me super long to realise 🌊

I'm currently living in a city while I go to college, and I always wanted to move back home or at least somewhere else rural again after college, but it just becomes more clear everyday that that's exactly what I need to do. It's nice to have tested out city living, but I also can't wait to move out of the city and come home and feel the peace and quiet.

wow I felt deeply when you talked about the overestimation of the city and how it was linked directly to your anxiety.... I live half the year in beautiful Puerto Rico on the beach and the other half in Connecticut in the city and I didn't realize how that affected me till you just spoke on it thank you.

I am so glad I found your channel a second time since I had lost it after watching your videos for so long. My current goal is to be able to move to a big city and I am really not into living in the countryside (don’t feel that is for me at this stage). But seeing how you’re evolving towards your happiest self is awesome, I can’t wait to evolve in my own way alongside your videos!

Really loved this video. I’m living in the city right now, but I 100% see myself moving back to the countryside in a few years when I finish my studies. For now, living in the city is fun, but I could never see myself being here forever. Also casually slipping in that the BOYFRIEND IS MOVING IN WHAAAAT I’m so excited for you Kalyn ❤️❤️❤️

I loved what you had to say and I love watching your RUclips videos now with such a peaceful and grounded energy as I currently find them more relatable.
I lived in Toronto my whole life, never downtown, more farther out but still in Toronto and can relate to what you said 100%!
Even when I was in my teens and early to almost mid 20s going downtown was SO much fun and exciting and I thought I wanted to move there.
Now I've moved to North York and with the pandemic barely go downtown and when I do I'm drained! All the people and busyness overwhelms me and leaves me with anxiety.
It makes sense since you lived directly downtown you'd feel that way.
I lol'd at your description of the club scene haha true so true!
In my opinion there are additional cons: so much traffic, housing is more expensive to rent and buying is ridiculous and people are more to themselves and so busy - but my family is in Toronto!

I grew up in the middle of nowhere, so for me, it's not right in my soul to have a "concrete park" over open fields and woods. It's mesmerizing to feel the energy in the country....definitely more wholesome, effortless, and pure 💚🤎

I’ve always felt like I could relate to you and seeing you do your thing in the city for so many years but kinda moving to a different, slower beat was SO relatable. Like I love big city life (or I want to love it) but I want something more quiet. And over the pandemic I started thinking about moving more quiet. And now hearing you talk about country life and really articulating how much it changed you - I want that. I’m making it happen. Manifesting it🤩✨✨

Following your life journey makes my life journey better ❤ I'm really happy that you feel like you're exactly where you need to be right now. I live in a small/medium town in Portugal that's near enough from the capital but far enough to still have that calmess and cozyness and I love it here, always have. I probably will try living in other places eventually, since I lived here my whole life, but I feel like I will always come back because it really feels like home.

You look so happy in the environment you’re in now. I feel as though you are the original Kaitlyn I remember first subscribing too. I figured you would end in on the country side. I grew up in IN and moved to MD. I miss the country so much. I’m getting a house and can’t wait to decorate in Farmhouse theme to remind me of back home. The city life moving to MD has never been for me. Too much crime, choas and really just the way of life here is so different than back home. Back home was slow pace of life and here is a fast pace of life. Moving out, getting married, having kids, etc. just even going into the store everyone is always in such a rush. I will forever love the country side way more than city side. I will say I feel as though that’s prolly why my anxiety is so high as well from where I am currently living. Country all the way. So happy to see you are happy and content. I hope to see more videos from you. Stay blessed! 🤍

Hello from France ! Fantastic video ! I had a similar experience in my life. I was living in Paris for a very long time and I loved it but now I'm living in the country and I just love it too and I know that I wouldn't like to go back in a city now. I do miss some "city things" like having shops and everything almost "right to your door" but living with the nature around.... and the sea. The sea is definitively something I couldn't live without now.

I’m so happy for you Kalyn! Your country life and house look so wonderful. I just bought my first house, I live in a small city, so it’s walkable distance to restaurants and coffee shops. Houses are pretty close to each other, but I have a nice sized yard! :)
