I had no idea such a program existed, thanks Scott, SO useful. I followed the link early in this video thinking it would be pricey but it's cheap too!!!
I only discovered this app about 2 weeks ago when a friend I know who works at Apple told me. Now collaborating with anyone across the world using FCP X or even Premier couldn’t have become any easier!!!
As someone who’s starting to break into video production on a more professional level this is a super exciting topic. Thanks for sharing your experience!
The only real problem is Frame.io only have email customer service only during business hours. Love the video Scott and thank you for your time to make this community grow with all the knowledge booms.
@@scottmckenna When Adobe updates come it affects the work process Plus the setup info is bad at best. RUclips creators offer better setup info than Frame.io does. Scott, you should create a video from start to working how to? I'm sure you would get great traffic on how to download the extension and doc to the pain and create a Frame.io workspace in Adobe Premiere Pro. Don't get me wrong I think it's a great product and we are integrating into our workflow now and after they get the photo viewer installed and working it will close the perfect.
An unrelated question, but have you thought about making a video about camera profiles? I have a pretty basic Canon dslr (T6i) and I believe I can't get any kind of C Log profile for it, but there may be a few other things that would work.
Looks like a good tool for client input during final editing of video. What’s your typical process and tools for earlier phases of client contact online (discovery of needs, finalizing contract, planning shoot for examples). Is it a Facetime meet usually or more in person? Do have any experience using Skype, Zoom or other web meeting tools for client meetings? What’s the best way to share video with clients if you can’t afford this special collaboration service? Thanks for you generous sharing.
Would be great if the EMB metadata was not lost when downloading / converting files from frm io. Avid does not have or allow the plug-in, be great if frame io allowed for markers from avid to be imported bi directionally.
@@scottmckenna I have bin watching your sow for years i am such a big fan. You just made may morning bay talking to be thank you you made may day i am sow happy.
Ok, so this might be a dumb question, but how is 50GB enough space? My projects easily get to be 300 GB in a hurry (with raw assets), so it would not even be feasible to share a single project with another editor.
If you’re looking to share files with another editor then I understand that for sure. You can upgrade to more space if you want. I personally don’t use it sharing assets between editors but i use more consistently for sharing edits with clients.
@@scottmckenna I see, so the space limitation is in place for total size of the encoded versions of your review videos? Seems like it could get very expensive to use frame.io for sharing assets between editors.
Scott, first off, your review was 1000% more useful than anything from frame.io - so thanks. An alert to anyone installing this, if you are on the latest it version of FCPX does not set up to add destinations without a workaround that frame.io seems reluctant to publish. It's taken me three days of struggling to get their help. Re: your comment here about "deleting once downloaded" are you saying as soon as you hear back from the client you delete the project? That suggests having to upload the project over and over as changes go back and forth - no? @@scottmckenna
This is ridiculous. Never knew this was possible without being cost prohibitive (or for the big companies only). This integrates well with LumaFusion projects?
It’s Christmas 🎄 yayyyyy!!
I love when time lines up!

Yes and it’s worth every penny. You’ll agree.

So glad to hear it’s valuable.
Mind. Blown. Just checked out their site and it now interfaces with Premier like that as well. Wow.
Awesome Job Scott, and I wish you and your family a healthy and happy Thanksgiving!

But who needs customer service when it just works.

This is mind-blowing! This will speed up my workflow immense! Thank you for that great in-depth review!
It has changed everything for me as well. I can guarantee you’ll love it.
Mind blowing good Programme!!

This is great! Question: Is Color Finale still working for you with the new FCPX update?
Not sure. I was never a fan of color finale.
Hi Scott. how can i share a project with an other editor, when a project is uploaded to frame.io
Didn’t fcpx new update add a new feature similiar to this on the collaborating with other editors? Definitely will check this out
Not like this.
What mic are you using in this video?
its almost Christmas
This is amazing! I can’t wait to try this.. does the person I am sending the video too have to have a user account on Frame.io?
Nope. That’s the best part about it.
It only works with apple software?
No.
Frame.IO is allsow available in Davinci Resolve 16 You didn't talk about that.
It is now. Yes.

isnt this pretty much just a feedback tool? two editors cant just edit on one project right? I cant seem to find any video showing this
Just feedback yes. Which is usually the biggest annoyance to deal with.
Are you still using mediazilla?
Yes for wedding delivery. That’s it.
Davinci Resolve integration is better, im using it and loving it, it more automatized

It’s not bad if you upload assets then delete once downloaded, or if you simply share proxies. A few different ways around it.

Eric Huurre he meant delete the proxies that you’re sharing with your other editors

Everything.
Thank you for the quick response!
Oeps FinalCutWhat? So 2017. Now 2019. New NLE boss: DavinciResolve 16. With full frame.io integration by the way.
