Hey Justin, I tried Frame.io after your recommendation but unfortunately the premiere extension was buggy and I couldn't get any render to finish, plus if the extension is docked in a panel, the next time I started PP it crashed. Very disappointing. My upload speeds to Frame.io were the same as any other service (being in Australia) so I guess their upload speed claims must be for overseas.
Hey Matt! Definitely worth sharing your feedback with the frame.io team.. I personally use it, and know a lot of people that do as well and have never heard of these issues you've had. No crashing here in Premiere or FCPX and much faster upload speeds (I'm on a 100/100 connection here in AUS) and it's a lot faster than Drive, Dropbox and even RUclips!
Hey Justin! About five minutes in, you briefly discuss a way to import the markers so they're tied to clips instead of timeline. I'm a first time user of Frame.io with producer comments calling for a number of cuts. I reached out to Frame.IO support and they suggested using "ripple markers"... but I'm afraid I'm still in the dark. :-(
Only concern I have is the amount of space available (for the pro version) 250gb active storage and 500gb for archival storage doesn't seem like a lot. What happens when you max out?

it will work with any. You don't need the direct integration you can just upload your files for review manually.
