4* is quite a disappointing result considering the Ora Funky Cat got 5* and much higher scores. I expect better of a big manufacturer such as Hyundai considering unknown Chinese start ups are performing better in these tests.
All the 2024 kona come standard with AEB along with the previous model but the new model gets Junction turning collision and blind spot collision avoidance also in Australia. They must get less safety aids in some overseas markets.
NCAP actually put out a press release saying the new Kona was only 1 point from getting a 3 Star rating, and NCAP was very disappointed with the result. A big fail from Hyundai who told all the motoring writers they were confident the car would get 5 stars. You can look up the reporters reviews over the last 5 months where they all say it will get 5 stars.........Yet only 1 point from a lowly 3 star rating. A huge embarrasment for the new Kona and Hyundai.
@Giloug fleet buyers and company buyers all look. Most fleet and company purchasers only buy 5 star rating, including ours. Hyundai Australia said last week the 4 star rating will hurt sales as it rules out company sales. Hyundai said they will address the updated model in 3 years to obtain 5 stars. It is in a story I read this week.
@@dimontecor just not in this repeatable, scientific, independent test... I have a 2021 Kona and it's lane keep assist, especially on rural roads is not good. On the motorway it's superb.
No it's not, the 2023 tests are much tougher, go through the post 2023 onwards tests on euroncap lots of cars of scored three or four stars including many large cars
You can look up the written report. It explains protection for the chest was marginal. Dummies slipped underneath the seat belt. One point from getting a 3 star rating.
Considering the Kona electric costs up to £46,000, that is a disappointment and really shows how expensive it is compared to similar rivals. The cheaper entry level version is lacking big time in spec.
shame on hyundai for such poor result, definitely not a safe car despite the modern look; better buying a kia who seems to get better construction & safety

They give 4 stars to it just because the radars and sensors fails. Meanwhile, about inside vehicle safety, it has still quite good percentage (+80%)
@@OmniRebusso what? It’s worse
@@MaticTheProto I personally don't care if my car is safe for the community or not, I do just metter the inside safety for me and for my passengers
@@OmniRebus that‘s a long alternative way to spell „I‘m an asshole“
@@MaticTheProto Enjoy your point of view 😁
Why did it get only 60% on Safety Assist? Besides the bicycle test it seemed to perform rather well.

Even though Hyundai is a long-established manufacturer, I felt a little disappointed with this result.

but are people really looking at these tests when they purchase the car? most people will look at price, interior big screen, and exterior led bar

So the lane keeping basically didnt respond at all? All two type of lane keeping failed?
I have it, and I assure you both work 😅

Hyundai's LKA+LFA is one of the best in the industry. I wonder, which part of the video that you see it failed?
80% on adult occupancy is shocking by today’s standards

why did it get 4?`where is the explanation

What a shame! Only 4 stars, drops out of my shopping list
Yo creo que ha subido el nivel de exigencia de la prueba y por eso el resultado.
I can't see any submarining anywhere. Can anyone tell me where? 😅
Me either, I don't see anything wrong other than the one test where the car hit the bike.
even in front crash protection they are 19% bellow mazda 3 which costs the same amount of money
Why?! hyndaiiiii?? only 4 stars :(
OOF
so bad :(
So many points deducted because they chose the lower trim 😅
Hyundai ? 🤪🤪🤪
I love Hyundai! In my opinion it deserves 5 stars
They are not testing the cars based on “opinions”
