Cliff was a philosopher, ferocious reader, knew classical music theory, was a writing genius and happened to play the bass. If you look at the complete picture of Cliff Burton, it's not outrageous to say he's the best to pick up a stringed electric instrument. Best of all, he was a kind and unpretentious soul. Unfortunately, his years on this earth were too short, but his impact on the world will ring through eternity.

6:25 "That was prolly the best performance I have ever seen" followed by silence... Cliff is a one of a kind true musician, many people say they miss old Metallica all the time, I cant speak for them, but i think what they mean is they miss when Cliff wrote a bunch of their music, and was still alive performing with them! He is my personal favorite musician of all time, not only can he slap a bass like no other, but he has beautiful melody within it, almost orchestra like...
If you enjoy this, I recommend checking out Call of Ktulu and Orion as well, both are instrumental songs that highlight exactly what i am talking about. Both I can only describe as hearing a gentle melodic build up, to a storm of bass filled with harmonies, followed by an equal melodic fading. He was a musical genius, no other words for it.
So glad to see not only someone react, but actually just sit and be "wowed" at what they are witnessing. R.I.P Cliff Burton, your music lives on!

Speaking of Raven, they did a cover of Steppenwolf's Born To Be Wild with Udo Dirkschneider, Udo recently did a power metal cover of Queen's We Will Rock You, he looks just like the old man in Up, the song is an excellent cover, worth a reaction.

Yeah I'm binge watching all your vids haha...dig this, Cliff, had a bass solo song, on their first album, Kill 'Em All, that was unheard of, it still is. And I like to make this goofy joke; Cliff carried an actual hammer around with him, odd as that is. You know why Cliff Burton had a bass solo song on the first album? Cliff carried around a hammer with him. The cover art and title of Kill 'Em All was based on a statement Cliff had made, the first Metallica album was supposed to be called "Metal Up Your Ass" but Jon Zazula, the owner of Megaforce records, felt the record exec distributors wouldn't stock an album with that title, so Cliff said "Yeah? Fuck them, Kill 'Em All!" and it stuck...the rest, as they say...
