Jake Pike has one of the most impressive built buggies I've ever seen. All chromoly tubing and everything on the buggy is completely TIG welded. If he hadn't have ended up with a busted transmission cooler on the first hill, and a blown tire on the second hill, I'm positive he would've taken some prize money home. He's got that small block 331 Ford flat out screamin'! Can't wait to see this machine in action again!

Got that right. Alota great options with ford there just not cheap to build. Chevy is just perfecting old tec.keeps cost down. Letting ford do all the r and d and then they'll copy. For instance variable speed timing. Chevy will go overhead cam soon as well since ford and yota got 6 ft long timing chains that will last for 400000 miles now. Works better with vct and you can put more valves in the head because you don't have a pushrod taking up valuable realistate. Who knows what dodge is doing. I guess hoping cummins starts building gas engines.
Well both have advantage's and disadvantages. With the old pushrod you can have a lot of cubes for the size of the motor at the cost of valvetrain efficiency. The DOHC stuff puts out more horse per liter but it makes for quite a bit bigger engine physically. That's why a 5 liter coyote can keep up with a 6.2 liter chevy but the 6.2 has got a wider and stronger torque band under peak horse. With forced induction these days you can make huge power with about anything built right so it's really just a pissing match. The chevy truck engines are just cheap and plentiful
Only reason you see so many LS motors is because there are alot of them pieces of shit in the junkyard! Just like the 350 turd! 😂🤣😂

Only bouncer o ever heard that when it’s idling it didn’t sound like a derby car know when the rigs get rappin up they most all sound great but it’s hard to get open headers to sound good at idle

Will do, I'm sub to the channel but will go back and find the clip. I've just been so impressed by the outlaw as of late I was hoping so see more guys getting away from solid axles. Although I do find the fab work on the trusses especially to be quite impressive.
main thing to keep guys going to setups like the outlaw is, Clayton built his suspension and not many folks can do that and make it work correctly.

it's supposed to be around 500, which seems plenty for it, it's lighter than most buggies bc he runs light 1/2 ton style ford 9"axles and chromoly tube chassis.
