Cheers for your comments David. One reason that I do try to be descriptive, is that I have one follower who is blind. He does the knots with his granddaughter, he tries to follow and then she corrects him when he goes wrong.

Thanks! I just hung my hammock using these knots. I'm concerned that they might slip because all I have available here is thick nylon rope, which is very slippery and stiff. But it seems to be working!

I've seen it this way, with both hitches through the loop, and one where one hitch goes through the loop, and the second goes around the standing end below the loop. "Jiggle them about, just to secure it properly" This is called dressing the knot, just FYI. Also, I would disagree with your characterization of "easy to undo." One reason this knot is used for anchors is because yes it's secure but it's also very difficult to undo after it has been under heavy load. For an anchor, this is not a bad thing. You never want to undo it, until your rode starts to fray and fail, at which point you cut it off.
Quick release version will be easier to undo after loading, but those two round turns really tend to lock down, so it may even be a bit difficult. But with the quick release version you have a total of three strands passing through the two round turns, so if you can pull out the quick release this will make space from where the bight was passed through and should be *much* easier to untie than the original version.

This isn't a Seamans knot, forget this you'll never get it undone, if you must tie a rope to an anchor use a Fishermans Bend, but any seaman worth his salt would spice in hard eye and use a galvanised shackle on the anchor

Dude, you need to learn to edit yourself, this video is way longer and way wordier than it needs to be. Very frustrating to watch. Example :58 - 1;25 is completely pointless and repetitive, the animation should be ;05, not ;15. The video is nearly half over before you get to the point.
I started a long time ago to "over explain" as I have one subscriber who is blind. He and his granddaughter follow the videos, he listens and she watches. He ties the knot and if he goes wrong his granddaughter corrects him. A lovely little bond must be growing between them?
Dont take that on board, I've struggled with knots for a long time until finding your videos. You have an amazing talent for teaching and I'd argue that's because of your style as a whole.......plenty of other youtube videos with no context or personality that just do the knot and nothing more but don't seem to have the talent to make it stick.
@Lauren Clark You have to be taught knots well first, then use them regularly for them to really 'stick' in your head. The first part is being taught them well. These are excellent videos by @Johnny Debt for that. I regularly use the bowline, Clove hitch, reef knot (although I'll be changing that. See the reef knot video), Sheet bend, Prusik, Fisherman's bend, Re-woven figure of eight. Think that's about it. I've been trying to learn the bottle carrying knot for years from books and had no joy. Think I've got it now, thanks to these tutorials. Plus I'm picking up some new ones for my camping trips and some others that, once I've got them down pat, I'll be using at work. Got a list of the new ones I'm learning stuck to the fridge and a couple of bits of string (call it string it winds knotters right up. I think they prefer cordage ;) and when I'm waiting for the kettle to boil I give one a go.

For your slip version, I recommend putting tag end thru the loop. It will make for a safer slip knot.

This Anchor Knot is a good short knot for use on Halyards and fenders. I've lost many fenders with Bowlines and Clove hitch+1/2 turn.

devzer0 agree, this one is very hard to undo when wet or when having been under tension for some time.
I've always considered it as a "don't tie this if you would ever want to undo it" knot.
