    Your videos are amazing and very helpful! You motivated me to build 3 stand up arcade cabinets, a sit down racing cabinet and a wine barrel cocktail arcade, all using Raspberry Pi’s all of the stand up cabinets have functional marquees. I’m almost finished building my pinball cabinet, I haven’t picked up a computer yet but I’m going the 1080p route. The pinball is my version of a Roller Disco cabinet, it’s a Christmas gift for my wife, she grew up with her grandparents having the actual pinball machine in their basement and would love to have a pinball machine. I’m sure she’ll understand that the cabinet is the hardest part of the build. I don’t want to rush it. I’ve been watching your videos for a while and I’ve learned so much! Thank you!!!

    Just posting a thanks to you! Your videos remind me of my father - who was an autobody man, they've given me great general DIY info like how useful center punches are, plus this whole series is my go-to once I start my vpin build. I finally put the wraps on my arcade project and vpin on that just isn't enough. =) I don't think I can afford going (ahem) balls out with DOF and stuff -- more of an extreme budget build, 32in screen w/SSF. Sort of bare minimum 3 screen build.
    That might be interesting things to cover, if it's at all something you're interested in. Smaller builds, like a 32in mid-size cab or even smaller 27" desktop ones.

    • @wayofthewrench
      @wayofthewrench  11 месяцев назад

      You're very welcome! Sounds like your father was an awesome dude! Glad I could help you out with your builds! Ya know, you can always add the extras later and then it won't be that much. Yeah a mini vpin series would be cool. Thanks for the watch and your support for the channel! Cheers!

    you made it possible, your series just wow.. and i was watching all episodes :) only dreaming about doing my own, but space and moneys :) love your content nice you want to keep adding to it.. part of the community for sure, and the decicion on doing to with at little fanzy tools as possbile made it so much better for normals to follow.

    • @wayofthewrench
      @wayofthewrench  11 месяцев назад +1

      Thank you very much! You could maybe do your own but a mini version? I hear ya, that's why I took 2 years and scavenged parts and spent slowly. Yeah, it's way too cool of a project to stop making videos, plus there's lots more to upgrade and teach. Yeah it makes it hard to get people into it if you're showing CNC machines and all that stuff. Thanks for the watch and your support for the channel!

    Congrats on reaching the "end"! I think this is the only how-to video tutorials I've ever watched from beginning to end. I typically don't learn well from video and prefer print, but your style struck a chord. It also helped me decide this project was something I could do when 8 months ago I'd decided it was out of reach.

      And for suggestions: what about showing how to replace the flipper buttons with lit color addressable buttons? I floundered around trying to figure out what was needed for that but it's really simple.

    I really appreciate the series! Thanks so much for sharing the knowledge and experience of building your cabinet and for taking the extra time to publish this content in these high quality videos. It definitely has been educational. I'm starting my cabinet build now and will be reviewing your videos during the process. Some ideas for future projects include a sit down driving simulator or a gun-con cabinet.

    What a fantastic job you have done with this table and the series was amazing! I have 4 real pinball

The way you have done these videos and the teaching skills you possess are outstanding. It (you) remind me of 2 of my high school shop teachers (automotive and electronics) that were just the best people in the world. I am sure your students think the same of you.

    Congrats Brother! Looks amazing! It's been a great journey that I and so many have watched and will continue to see the evolution of what's to come. As far as a future video, maybe a positives and negatives of parts used, tweaks, changes and swaps. Longevity of those parts, maybe something after time wears or malfunctions. Also, the positives, it works better than expected or didn't know it did that. Overall, 10/10 for the hours put in, the hard work and labor for the end result of awesome! Great Job!

    Awesome series! I learned a whole lot! I literally started my virtual pinball journey after seeing your software install video. THANKS! I'd love it if you did a new build for 4K with a Spike 2 cab. The challenges are different since you have to decase the monitor and route the sites for it to fit. This is really a stellar series of videos. As a woodworking and electronics hobbyist (and pinball enthusiast) I found them most fascinating. If I may ask, 1. What's the weight of the machine? 2. What do you estimate the total cost to have been? I'm contemplating the buy vs. the DIY and I'm using your build as a baseline for a lot of what I'd want in a machine. Many thanks and keep up the great work!

If you deem me worthy, I'd really appreciate it if you could share out my channel on your social media so I can help more people. Yeah the vpin is pretty heavy, I haven't weighed it but it's over 250 lbs for sure. I spent $1,500 CAD over the build so it is for sure worth it to do yourself and save a ton of money. Plus you get an amazing looking and playing vpin too, much better than the bought ones in my opinion. Thanks for the watch and your support for the channel!

    So now that it's done, is there anything you would change? One thing I'm on the fence on with my build is the playfield LEDs. I love me some addressable LED but I don't know if the side strips and back matrix would create too much glair or be too distracting to the actual game. Great build video series BTW! You have really inspired me!

    • @wayofthewrench
      @wayofthewrench  6 месяцев назад +1

      I was initially concerned about glare but my angles just worked and there is zero glare. I do get glare from overhead lights in my shop though so Zi usually shut those lights off when playing which makes the undercab glow brighter too. If money wasn't an issue, I would have ponied up $5,000 to make it a 4k 120hz with an OLED......but this is my next build. Stay tuned!
