I followed your first build and it helped me complete a mini vpin build for my dad for Father’s Day. Following this one for my own basement. Thank you for taking the time to make this content!
I've felt inspired yet intimidated by your first build. This feels more up my alley, but I know I'll always want to go back and try to do it from scratch if i go the flatpack route. You teach, and display, an eclectic mix of skills. I appreciate the work you put into these videos
Yeah I get it, I can see how people might feel intimidated by the work as I make it look easy but it's easy to forget I have decades of tech experience. I still highly recommend building your own as it is a very cool project and lots of fun/learning to experience. Thank you for your kind words, I appreciate it. Thanks for the watch and your support for the channel! Cheers!
Good stuff. Before inflation hit I should've built one from scratch. Popular hardware store had full 8x8 foot sheets black melamine mdf for $17 a piece. Could've built the cab for probably $150 easily. $850 is still a bit beyond means but good for those without a tablesaw. Another tip is to hit up the pinball fairs/conventions. A flat pack company was selling kits there for $650
Yeah covid pricing is here to stay, record profits for businesses and people can't afford to eat! Yeah it is cheaper to make your own but it's a lot of work and very accurate cutting. Thanks for the watch and enjoy the series!
Thanks very much for your kind words, I appreciate it because these videos are a lot of work. Yeah it's pretty awesome to be sponsored this time around and mess around with a bunch of cool new products. Thanks for the watch and enjoy the series! Cheers!
You are an amazing educator and I love your videos! As a felow Canandian, you represent very well!! Anyone who works with you in your real life business is fortunuate to have you as their mentor. I am excited for this series as I am building my fourth VPin using your techniques. Tres bien mon amie!
Thank you for your kind words, I really appreciate it as it's a lot of work to make these videos the way I do. Canada represent! You're on your 4th vpin? That's amazing, good on ya! Thanks for the watch, Merci!
Excellent video as always! Great information. Lance & Phil are great. Glad they are getting promoted in your upcoming videos! I hope you're able to check out the PinOne encoder this time that Phil has. I love it! Definitely going back & forth on upgrading my cab with Lance's premium flat pack. The expense of getting new monitors is holding me back. I'm coming from a 3/4 size cab with 32" playfield. But looking forward to the other videos with this project. 😉
Thanks dude! Yeah it's nice to help out in the community and promote vpin companies. I'd like to do a cabinet for Paul maybe after this build. Yeah I hear ya, it all adds up. My playfield monitor is more than my entire budget build! Thanks for the watch and your support for the channel!
I am going to be contacting each of these companies as I start building my Vpin and simply telling them "I want the Way of the Wrench Package". Literally whatever part, piece, add-on, accessory, etc. you did for him.. that is what I want..
That sounds like a pretty good idea! It'll be like a kit that comes with awesome instructional videos. Thanks for the watch and welcome to the channel!
Fantastic! I was going to follow your previous build, but had already bought a Williams wide body flatpack (From a different vendor), and a LG C3, so there were a lot of differences to compensate for. This build will match mine much more closely, and be much more useful. Timing couldn't have been better. Ready to take notes.
Awesome! If you haven't already, I would watch my previous series and then the new as there is a lot of good info in there. Good luck with your vpin build! Thanks for the watch!
Wow!! very interesting video. I watched all the videos of your other handmade pinball. I will follow this new series with great interest. Greetings from Spain. Saludos desde España, amigo.
Yeah me too! That would be neat to do but I really don't have any room for a skee ball. My kids would like it though for sure. Thanks for the watch and enjoy the series!
Lol, the King eh? Cheers! Yeah it's pretty cool to have all of these new sponsors and play with new stuff! Thanks for the watch and your support for the channel! Cheers!
Great start, so much work bypassed with the melamine flat pack! Great to have these sponsors on board, I buy my stuff from them as well. My flatpack on order won't have melamine, but that looks like the way to go! I'll be sanding and painting : ). But I do have a nail gun for speed of assembly and minimal holes to patch. Looking great so far! Congrats on the new build!
Yes, sooo much work bypassed! Yeah, it's pretty awesome to be sponsored and mess around with new stuff. There will be some sanding/painting ....but way less. Nice, nail guns are sweet!
Thanks Bruh! Just a different take on building a vpin, in case people are scared to try my budget cabinet method. Thanks for the watch and your support for the channel! Cheers!
Sweet! Glad you enjoyed the video! If you deem me worthy, I'd really appreciate it if you could share out my channel on your social media so I can help more people. Thanks for the watch and your support for the channel! Cheers!
Oooh it's finally here! Well, let me tell you, it's cool. All your fans and I subscribe to your channel and we will support you because we dreamed of building a pinball table ourselves. Some have done it (I managed to do it), others are still dreaming. OR it was in this video that they saw that they could achieve it in a simple way! And I can't wait to see how you assemble the electronics. Greetings from POLAND, my friend.
Jen Dobry! Hello from Canada! Thanks for your kind words, I really appreciate it! Vpins rock and I'm glad you were able to make one. Thanks for the watch!
Awesome, glad you're enjoying the series! An Arduino could work but a teensy is a better choice. It's essentially an Arduino just smaller and more powerful. Cheers!
I really enjoy watching your videos and have learned something new every time I watch them. I finally got my Gigabyte FV34U monitor and ready to get a flat pack. Wanted to get your opinion. How many button holes do you think are really needed? Your flat back comes with 7 minus the plunger and launch.
I would highly recommend you have a start button, extra ball, exit, launch, 2 flippers, and 2 magna save buttons. Then if you use xpadder, you can add shift functions to add more functionality with pinvol, ect. I'm glad you are enjoying the series, more to come! Thanks for the watch and your support for the channel.
Great looking cabinet! Can't wait for the next bits... One question as a complete wood working n00b... why you need the straps -- don't the screws pull it in nice and tight?
Thanks! The screws do pull in the wood but only around where you screw it. So the straps and clamps help bring the entire edge into contact as the glue dries. Thanks for the watch and enjoy the series!
@Emil Are there dimensions for this cab online? I can’t seem to find them. Can you possibly measure the inside width of the cab so I can check my screen? Cheers and great new series!
Just curios did you have any extra parts from first pinball that can use for this one, to save money. Thanks for great videos. Another project like to see after this a cocktail arcade cabinet with trackballs.
Yes I do have some stuff like wires, fuses, distribution blocks, ground wire, t molding, etc. You're very welcome, glad you appreciate the content. Yeah a mini build would be cool to build! Thanks for the watch!
Awesome start to your big budget vpin build, but noticed in the beginning there was no mention of the flat pack camlock option of builds, such as those from Gameroom Solutions. I understand these are not Williams\Bally replicas but would like to know your thoughts on these as I think alot of enthusiasts would just like to build a 3 monitor vpin at the end of yhe day at an economical price. Do you think these would be as strong as screw and glue cabinets, as a lot of the cabinets today are these, and I don't know whether the vpins get as much hard work from nudging as the pinballs of old. Would love to know your thoughts. I'm really enjoying your series, keep up the great work👍
I'm not a fan of cam locks as they will loosen over time. Ikea furniture uses these a lot. The strongest joints are going to come from a glue joint. My personal recommendation is to build your own cabinet but if you can't a flatpack kit is the next best choice. Hope that helps. Thanks for the watch! Cheers!
Yeah not my usual MO either but it was cool to try something new. It saved a ton of work too! Thanks for the watch and your support for the channel! Cheers!
@@wayofthewrenchAwesome. Thanks! I watched this one twice but haven't gotten further than that... I saw the backbox attached at the end of the video and thought I missed something.
I would agree with MDF boards but we'll see with this melamine as it's mostly plywood with a thin layer of MDF/melamine. I'm kinda not worried as my last ssf set up was turned down like crazy and had waaay more room to increase the volume. I'll let you know for sure when I get there. Thanks for the watch Joey!
Yeah I wasn't a fan of it either. I do believe they are making some changes to the door for future kits. I'm going to add some u channel t molding to mine to cover the edge of the door. Thanks for the watch!

Let's go! You're very welcome, enjoy the series!
He is back. I'm freaking excited to see the new series 😍
Lol, I never left! I'm here to stay....vpin fa life! Glad you're enjoying the series, cheers!
WoW so kool to see this being made you deserve to be sponsored by all the great companys. I really enjoy watching you build VPINS.

My flatpack from them is showing up this week. Glad to find this, its going to be super helpful as I put it together.
Awesome! Glad I could help, enjoy your vpin build! Thanks for the watch!
I enjoyed your previous videos. It inspired me to build my own cabinet.
I can't wait for your next videos.

How did you connect the backbox to the playfield cabinet?
If you watch the next video (out now), I show how I get this prepped for vinyl and the backbox ready for mounting. Thanks for the watch!

melamine will dull out the SSF output, needs to be hardwood

that is a shit-ton of glue. but i digs it.
no glue starvation on my watch! Thanks for the watch and your support for the channel! Cheers!
That door is a big mistake. They seriously need to rectify this.Seems to me they've cut too many piece's the wrong size, and came up with an excuse.
Yeah I wasn't a fan of it either. I do believe they are making some changes to the door for future kits. I'm going to add some u channel t molding to mine to cover the edge of the door. Thanks for the watch!
@@wayofthewrench I would have insisted on a proper sized door.Absolutely ridiculous,my comment from previously still stands.....The nerve!
