I always rode the blue line because I lived in Springfield and occasionally saw the Yellow line trains go through King Street. Thanks for the video!

I like the yellow line and blue line cause the yellow line and the blue line meet up at cristal city
It's annoying when people get on both Metro and Amtrak talking there ear's off and u gotta hear the talking around u untill u get to your stop It's Just better when u wanna enjoy the ride without hearing all the chattering around u
I normally ride the red line to get to places like the zoo, and it is the closest to me, but very rarely I take other lines. like I think one time I went to gallery place, to switch to the yellow or green lines to go to l’ enfant plaza to go to the air and space museum.

I love the Silver Line because its the closest to where I live, plus it looks the most modern.

They should reactivate ATC. But they wont. It looks like the Blue Line can connect with the Yellow Line going south. why would it need to do that? 18:27 thats not normal lol

Looks like a great system on paper, but is it as unreliable as some have stated ? Does this have more to do with the older 1000 series trains (soon to be phased out anyway) ?
+J VK If I compare Metro to my system MTA Maryland, it's a paradise of reliability but comparing it to the standards of NYC, Chicago or LA, or even Boston, WMATA/Metro is lackluster at best. For it's shear size and capacity, it's behind on times and wherever the money is needed to support a massive system of this caliber is not there like NYC or LA.
1000-series trains are due to be phased-out by 2017 at the earliest. They will slowly be retired as the 7000-series arrive in the bushels throughout 2016. But as I just stated, the money is being bend a-bit to pay for maintenance repairs, so the 7000-series cars will come in one-set by one.
***** Thanks for the detailed explanation ! Looks like users were right in complaining about its lack of reliability in the end. BTW Is Baltimore's system so bad ? It looks better than average on paper, but then again I've never used it so can't judge either.
J VK Honestly, yes, But this new restructuring of the system going into effect June 2017 will either make Baltimore transit be in the statistics of reliability and ease of travel as Boston or will be the death of the city when it comes to change. I would say the new BaltimoreLINK -- the name of the newly structured system -- will be as compatible as when Houston did their bus network restructuring. The biggest problems of Baltimore transit is the tolerance of operator control, as in, the supervision of keeping buses on a steady headway is non-existent - or not enforced. Many supervisors are simply there to drill an operator for not being at a location by the "posted" time rather than manage the frequency; also, many of the bus lines date back to the 1970-80s, whereas now it's a different generation. Almost like MARTA of Atlanta. The new system will tackle that head-on and I know deeply it will make traveling throughout Baltimore city & county, and the surrounding counties a heck of a lot easier than today's age.
Having bus lines be strictly direct and play the role as feeders, along with crosstowns -- all similar to how NYCMTA is structured and keeping operators on a "frequency" controlled environment rather than the old timetable method, the system; the ops; and the patrons will all be happy. +J VK Are you looking to vacation to DC and use it or use it for a daily commute? If you are going to DC to sightsee, etc, the Metro is probably the most efficient and cost effective way to get around. It's very, very clean and, while in my week in DC I don't think that I experienced more than 1 delay. For a daily commute, I'm not sure, but it seems like it'd be just fine.
Ethan Carter Yup, apart from being interested in mass transit systems I'm considering coming to DC for vacation, sightseeing etc. I was asking as I heard numerous horror stories about it (beakdowns, accidents, broken escalators, etc etc) that I was wondering whether it was indeed as bad as they say or on par with other systems. But I guess most complaints stem from people using it on a daily commute...

It’s So Freaking Annoying When People Get On The WMATA Metro 🚇 & Intentionally Get In Front Of The Door’s To Prevent The Doors From Closing To Cause The Chime & WMATA Metro 🚇 Train Operator To React Not So Nicely About It Which I Can Definitely Understand It’s Frustrating Annoying
