thanks a bunch, as I have seen plenty of sharpening, and engraving episodes on this show, showing off the c-max, but now we know what the hell it is!! as for most metal workers, aka metal lathe machinists (model trains, tools, etc.), any square ground tooling, we assume is just normal steel, that is hand ground on a bench grinder, ie: the normal tools that we use ourselves, which are not carbide insert tooling. so nice to get clarification.

Hi, is it possible to use the gravers with the old school hammer and chisel method if i were to put a handle on the gravers and how can i sharpen them on my diamond sharpening plates? Do i need something like a sharpening guide?

they have a graver holder just for that, with Quickchange
Should work as well

sharpening guides help a lot, but you can also do it by hand with a lot of practice
GRS Sharpening system is great, no doubt, but way too expensive for most hobby engravers
Diamond plates and DIY Sharpening fixtures also work fine
