Jeff Lebowski I've already made it pretty clear I'm talking about this recent upsurge in new artists and perspectives, and not the genre entirely. I'm quite aware the black keys didn't start this.

I have seen Prince evolve from rock/pop to funk/jazz, seen pink Floyd evolve from psychedelic to rock and have seen the counting crows seen evolve to the same they ever was, a great band but nothing new.
I listen to all kinds of music, just to meet my hunger to new things, just to not get bored.
This is nothing like pink Floyd, not even close, pink Floyd had another approach to music and made every single album they put out a sort of story about they're life's.
This specific song sounds very similar to breathe by pink floyd to me and to a lot of other people also, apparently. that doesn't make it any less of a song. I love this album and can't wait till I see them live in December! :D

This is the first album I’ve heard of theirs and as a pf fan I think it’s pretty good, although people are saying it’s rubbish compared to their other albums so I can’t wait to listen to their older stuff

I was first hesitant towards the new style that the Black Keys were heading into, especially since i really enjoyed albums such as ThickFreakness and Rubber Factory, after they got the big deal with DangerMouse and released Attack and Release, i didnt really enjoy that one too much, in many ways Turn Blue is a step towards that direction, but i like this album, i like how its different, its great these guys are experimenting with different styles and ways they can present music, it shows creativity and originality, at the end of the day, music is about expression and experimenting with different ways you can express yourself, and these guys are definitely doing just that. Keep up the good work :)
It does remind people of Pink Floyd but it is very much different and far from copying it at all, it's just good music, and let it be good music. I'm not saying it's rare to have good music, but why bash it for one of the reasons it's good?

it's good that the can change their sound up, and not do the same old stuff.
Though I love this song, and cannot stop obsessing over it, I still think they were better when it was just the singer and the drummer.

Who cares if this sounds a bit like Pink Floyd? Both bands are amazing, and obviously they took inspiration from Breathe, I'd consider it a homage to them.

Well they've done the bluesy 60's and the psychedelic 70's now. Next will be the synthetic 80's (oh god...) and some cool grunge 90's before they finally run out of ideas and start doing collaborations with P Diddy.

***** you have no idea what music is about, do you? The Black Keys are first and foremost musicians, it's what they enjoy and it's what they do best. Now just think for a minute, they put out an album, a lot of people like it. Great! They can share their music with the world. But they get bored of that sound and they want to challenge themselves as musicians, they want to go in different directions. That's what real music is. If they churned out album after album of the same thing, they'd turn into robots. If you want albums and songs that all sound the same, go listen to Rihanna or some shit; no one's forcing you to be here.

Love this album. It saddens me to see there also dumbasses that feel like they have to stick up for Pink Floyd or something. I always though Floyd was music with class and attracted such people... Guess assholes are allowed as well. Be glad there's a band that has similarities to the band you seem to be willing to fight for. Shouldn't you see it as a compliment that something you hold dear inspired other people? I for one had tears in my eyes the first time I heard this album, because it gave me a renewed hope when it comes to music. But yeah, you all just stay the elitists you are as long as you dont turn up again around this music.
