I have to admit that this is my favourite video and piece I have watched on your channel so far. The wardrobe was absolutely gorgeous and if I could ever own one like it I would be so proud 😊 I loved the fact I could hear the process, the detail you showed of fixing the bubble in the veneer, the filling, the cleaning of the brass (think it was brass and also wow wasn't it filthy and so satisfying to see it clean up) and the never ending french polishing - I mean this part in a good way as you showed how long and how meticulous the process is but WOW the results were stunning 😍🤩 if I hadn't already subscribed THIS video would have had me pressing that button thank you 😊
A great result!! How many rounds of shellac did you apply? Did you fill in the missing areas with wax and refinish them with water-soluble pigments and how did you seal the brass fittings.
Thanks for your kind comment. I haven’t counted the round of french polish but there were a lot! The missing areas i filled in with Modostuc, a wood filler on a acrylic base. You can get them in all kinds of woodcolors. I finished off with a coloured shellac to match the colour of the wood more accurately. I let dry thoroughly. The brass i sealed with a clear coat of shellac.
Fantastic work i like to dabble in smaller item as a novice, what would be nice if you could show what products you use to achieve the fantastic results in your videos.
Wunderschön geworden, aber die Spannung ist raus, da zu Anfang das Ergebnis gezeigt wird. In der finalen Sicht könnte man denSchrank in voller Schönheit mit zeigen
Marvelous video, thankyou. I just subscribed. I am curious about the products you used. What did you use to strip the old finish please? It was very exciting seeing it come off like that ❤️

I wish the more ornate pieces would come back into fashion. They certainly add beauty to a mundane world. Your work is superb.
Thanks you. I feel the same way. I honestly think richly decorated antiques and contemporary modern are a great combination in a home interior.
😍Beautiful work‼️ 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 From 🇧🇷
Thank you so much!
Well done.
I've binge watched all of these projects more than once. Amazing work. Thanks.
Отличная работа! Браво, маэстро! Какая красивая старинная вещь! 👍👍👍💯👌💥
Thank you for your kind comment.
Turned out better than I expected.
Thanks, it looked very tired before restoration but the quality shined through anyway. ❤️
Beautiful ❤
Thanks! Glad you liked it❤️

Thanks for your comment. I will keep your suggestion in mind making my next video.
Great workmanship 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
What’s the big white/cream thing in the middle of the door pls?
Good question! It is a wardrobe with a mirror in the door. The reflexion of the light (and of myself) i find very distracting while filming.

Thanks for the compliment and subscription! I used a traditional stripper containing dichoormethaan and methanol.

Thankyou for your reply. I have a banged up old Davenport desk ready to restore, thankyou for the inspiration 😊
Good luck with the restoration, i’m sure it will turn out great and leave a big smile on your face!
Очень красивый шкаф и качественная работа реставратора.
Thank you for your kind comment!😊
1800s is 19th century.
French Empire is XIXth century, not XVIIIth…
You’re right! I would say around 1830. Would you agree?
@@TheRestorationGuyArie Empire is between 1803 and 1815. 1830 is 2nd Restauration (Monarchy). This furniture is probably around 1820, I guess.
