I have the Aroma rice cooker, it costs less than $30 I believe.. really cheap yet it makes really great, quality rice. I make brown rice or white rice pretty regularly. Simple, reliable easy to clean.
that’s interesting! i’m going to get one of the aroma inexpensive ones. my friend says she can’t cook brown rice in it. any tips for someone who wants to make brown rice?
@@jen3897the aroma has a brown rice setting but all brown rice requires more water than white rice. Maybe your friends isn’t adding the right amount of water for the brown rice?
I have no idea what im doing but i at least wash my rice and got an aroma 20 cup. I have no idea why i see people bashing it. Makes great rice and its never done me wrong. Im a guy with pretty limited cooking skills i just get whatever veggies seem good to me, chop it up and throw it all in with an egg. If i want meat ill lightly cook it in a separate pan with the veggies before tossing it all in together. Idk how people mess it up
@@bluecube7247 lol just a college kid learning to feed himself better than frozen pizzas. Ive switched to frozen veggies in a bag tho because its way easier and they seem to turn out a bit better than the fresh chopped that would sometimes get really soggy from the steam.
Retail pricing would be nice but I really am interested in the last one. Made in Japan is outstanding compared to the rest. Thanks to whomever is responsible for these presentations.
@@ElectroMonkEI’m having trouble. I eat a lot of rice and I want to get a rice cooker. People keep saying zojirushi but they can be expensive. Another brand I read where someone recommended over the zojirushi was the yum Asia brand. They were saying that zojirushi doesn’t do long grain rice well. Can I have your thoughts please. I feel like I’m drowning with all the information and there are so many brands I have never even heard of before and don’t know where to start and what to avoid completely.
TURN DOWN THE VOLUME OF THE INTRO MUSIC!!!! commentary was low so i turned up sound to hear you clearly and almost fell out of my chair when the music kicked on at full blast compared to the initial voice over track.....LOL
Thank you for all the great information. Would have been nice at the end to have a wrap up of what things you found helpful like which had the easiest to read numbers or the hardest to clean. I have had my cheap $10 rice cooker for years but lately eating lots more rice and want an upgrade, going to try the Aroma and if still eating lots of rice next year will upgrade to the Zojirushi, the price is a steep for something that might end up on shelf only being used a few times a year 💜
I'm guessing most folks reading this won't be spending close to $200 on a rice cooker, which is the last one, the Japanese brand starts w a "Z". Otherwise for unfussy rice cooking any American brand here will do, I'd go w Hamilton Beach. My friend bought an Aroma brand and he had to return it cuz the rice always turned out too dry even tho he put in enuff water. He says don't trust an American brand rice cooker that sells for cheap cuz you'll return it anyway
Although the Aroma rice cooker/steamer makes perfect rice it gets dirty easily and has too many parts to clean. Annoying. I never use it for steaming. I use a bamboo steamer so I can enjoy well steamed veggies rather than over steamed soggy veggies.
I disagree on the Zojirushi rice cooker. We eat jasmine rice and was told that this was the best rice cooker. While our rice appears to be overcook most of the time. We are not able to leave the rice in the keep warm function as after a day, the rice turn brown and has a funny smell. I've reached out to the manufacturer and they claim that we should never leave the rice in the cooker and run the keep warm more than a few hours. My personal experience with this rice cooker would not be on the best rice cooker to buy.
I've just got a cheap little Aroma cooker. All I bought it for is to cook rice, not do a moon landing. I put in the rice and water, press the button, 20 minutes later I have rice. Cost less than $20. I can spend the money I saved by not paying $300 for one of the others on something else I really need.

Steamer baskets are BS. Just use your rice cooker to cook rice. Base the quality of your rice cooker on the quality of the cook, you had one job.

Zoji brand is the Mercedes of rice cookers
What’s so good about it?
any with stainless steel, or all use toxic teflon?

China is the world's largest rice consumer. It's a pity that no Chinese brand is indicated such as Midea.

I don't know I got a small 3 cup one and followed the instructions, rice came out dried and hard.

Aroma sucks. Takes forever to cook and the pot will peel... didn't even last 2 years..
they have a new granite look pot, hope it's better, just bought an Aroma.
