I own the 55" of this TV and absolutely love it. Plenty bright, even in daylight with bay windows, great on ps4 HDR and Netflix looks sweet as. With discounts I paid just over a grand for it and have no problem recommending to anyone who isn't an oled peak brightness snob, just looking for a solid reasonably priced Sony TV with 2.1 support on route. It is what it is... I'm sure a professional can find flaws and that is fair enough, but from what I can tell most TVs have their drawbacks... I would have got the LG C9, but refuse to deal with even a possibility of screen burn in years to come. Thanks Vincent, keep up the great work.
I'm keeping a close eye on this model, recently switched to a Qled after years of Sony, and really regret my purchase, had a horrible experience with Samsung, leaving me with a tv I've had for 6 months and can't wait to see the back of.
"We ran our hand along the bottom for another hole...not something I've done since that fateful night in Bangkok." Lololol, Vincent, you're killing me! I had to literally pause the video so I could stop laughing!
Watching for the very first time. Still laughing. In tears. Had to pause the video. I've watched more recent videos from Vincent so I'm aware of the fabulous humor but this one takes the cake.
I'm sticking with Dolby Vision Dark, based on your recommendation (regardless what others might try to suggest or prove). Thank you for being professional.
@@RdCrestdBreegull I'm no expert but if you watch content during the day the color's won't look correct due to the external lighting bouncing off the TV screen. This is why it's best to have two different TV settings at least. One for night. And one for day time. That way you will see the best picture quality for the different types of situations your eyes are adjusting to. This is why allot of people love to have there "Man Cave" to have it pitch black to experience the best when it comes to the movie viewing experience. But I'm open to be wrong. 🤷🏼♂️

Glad to hear it. I just bought the 85" X900H. I was deciding between the x950H but the $1200 savings. Also the rainbow reflections from the X-wide I was very concerned about.
This is an amazing review. Not just some reading of technical facts and splurring it out but real, thorough investigation and analyzation. Great work thanks guys. Bought that TV earlier today lol
glad you did a review on this tv. im looking to buy a new tv mainly for gaming and this one is one of the options. since we have the release of next gen consoles this year it would be great if you could do a video with a list about best tvs for next gen console gaming. it would be very apreciated.

@@webinatic216 Z9D is a Legend. Nothing less. Not only the back-light control but also the colors the accuracy the vibrancy it achieved without being saturated even a little. Even SONY is unable to achieve that with the new chip-set don't know why.
Indeed. My study is just too small - I need to use a monitor, and finding a suitable HDMI 2.1 one that's affordable is not happening at the moment. Maybe closer to the launches of the Xbox & PS5...
It’s definitely a value. I picked it up for Black Friday. The 65 for the 55 price. Great colors. Great blacks. I mean the speakers could be better. I’ll most likely get a sound bar. But no tv has ever been a theatre. As far as sound. But for everything else. If you are on the fence. Go for it. X90H awesome..
Just bought this set from Costco for $1260. I am not an expert on modern TVs, but I work with color for a living so I think I am a pretty good judge of picture quality. I set up my own custom picture setting (reducing bright reds and greens a bit in Advanced Color Setup) and am very happy with the results. Better than any of the presets. Standard setting is too saturated for me. The movement looks very natural compared to a lot of LED sets I have seen. My previous TV was a Pioneer Kuro plasma which I kept for 11 years because I didn't like the moment on earlier LED sets. I think for the amount I spent this is a great TV and I have no regrets.
So it's basically an X900E (as far as PQ is concerned) with faster interface, Dolby Vision, half the input lag and HDMI 2.1 for VRR, ALL and 4K120Hz. You'd think there would be improvements to contrast, gamut coverage and local dimming after 3 years even though it's still a great value.
Great video as always Vincent! I’m coming from an LG 43UH6500 (2016) which according Rtings has some pretty bad grey/black uniformity, peak brightness (340 cd/m2) & a high response time, and honestly none of these things were ever glaring issues in day-to-day use (I even turned down the brightness/contrast). By the looks of it the x900h is an improvement in pretty much every aspect and is future proof at a reasonable price. Looking forward to it!
After a few weeks researching I got the 75" version of this tv and it is really fantastic. So many things built in ATSC 3.0, HDMI 2.1,4k120hz, eArc, ALLM, VRR, 7ms Game mode, AirPlay 2, Homekit, Dolby Vision,HDR10,HLG. and much more. The blacks are outstanding for LCD. Panel is plenty bright, almost too much so in some content. UX is super fast and the bluetooth remote is great (controls PS4 also). Really good upscaling of SDR content. If I have a gripe it is the dark corners (vignetting), only visible at times with very white bright scenes involving the corners. Overall I love it. and am ready for PS5. Sure the OLED is amazing... But it had better be for $3700-4000 for a 77" CX which is almost 2x the price. YMMV
What are you talking about dude ???? This tv has no hdmi 2.1 feature active at this moment (29.08.2020) at least not the European models. Yes the picture quality on this tv is fucking AWESOME !!! The fucked thing is Amazon prime and Disney plus have no atmos support. Netflix is the only streaming app that supports Atmos at the moment. I'm super disappointed in this tv because of that missing feature (Atmos) especially because I have a complete Dolby ATMOS system that is basically useless. I am going to get a refund on my tv next week if sony doesn't confirm that they will implement eARC. It really doesn't make any sense whatsoever as to why in the fuck that feature is not active today.
@@cris_stn Sure these things are not active right now But the Sony.com spec page states eArc, 2.1,ALLM ,VRR all to be added with the firmware update. I cannot blame the TV for the streaming apps not supporting certain formats. I watch HBO Max a lot and they don't even have any 4k on any content. Atmos would be nice but I have to be happy with 5.1 DD or DTS from TV Optical to receiver until I can upgrade it.
Better have a tv that have everything promise on papers the moment you buy it rather wait when.... you paid for jt already most especially alot of fans wants to get their hands on playstation 5. LG and Samsung have it ready for you once you buy it not having a crazy moment of waiting for the update. Sony should know better than this, but well it is a personal taste or choice... maybe sony thinks there are lots of SONY fans that will get this tv no matter what..
I own the 65” 900H, but had to send the first one back (DSE). I own the 900E as well and put side by side, the 900H is brighter, faster and smoother. Vincent does a great job in explaining the technology and showing the 900h’s faults, he nitpicks at things you should know about, but most of the time never notice and I love his reviews. He’s bang on with this review, but I do think it will put some people off, from buying the 900H! Don’t be, this set is a great all rounder, very much in the guise of the 900E. I’m not justifying my purchase either, I sent the first one back, because it didn’t hit the mark and I would send the second one back in a heartbeat, if I wasn’t happy with the panel. 👍
After watching this review 3 weeks ago, I went to my local bestbuy to see this TV in person and compare it to the x950H. Here (Canada) this tv retails for 1599 vs 2199 for thr x950h which i couldn't justify so I went with the value buy on the 65' x900H. This tv is definitely a massive upgrade from my 48' Panasonic flat-screen from 2008. Colors look fantastic. I had a friend come over who has a LG CX who was impressed with the tvs features for the price point. After watching this video again I can definitely see how valid Vince's points are on this tv. I stand by my satisfaction of this tv and definitely recommend it for anyone who is looking to upgrade from older models to a solid mid-range. However, if you recently purchased a mid-high range and looking to upgrade you may want to look elsewhere.
@@NamelessMaroc if you have budget for a CX go for it. I've watched a few movies on my friends CX and its absolutely amazing. The TV itself is a decent gaming unit too but you may want to confirm it supports hdmi 2.1 or not. Like I said before I couldn't justify the price difference and the CX is more comparable with the A8 then the x900h but for $900 CAD more, I stuck with the value buy.
How does it compare to the CX? I just got a B9 and am having to return it do to quality issues. For the same money I can get the 65in version of this, or a 55in BX.
@@GlennMariano CX (IMO) best tv for its price point in the market this year. Its still really expensive but if you can afford it, go for it. I saw the BX and wasn't impressed with the quality in store either, would rather go with x900h for similar price here. If you want to spend a bit more look at the CX, Edit: Vince's latest video posted today (Oct 27) proof that Sony's most recent firmware update on the X900H enables Dolby Vision which is absolutely fantastic. I haven't been able to download the update but that may be because of the regional restrictions so i should see it later today or tomorrow. If that's the case, along with the HDMI 2.1 support. I'm even happier with my purchase of the X900H over the X950H
I have this, and the blooming is pretty bad sometimes. I chalked it up to poor picture settings on my part but I’m not sure. Still fairly pleased with the tv at only $2200 for a 75”
@@osh_master It's had a few updates since. Not sure if those were Android related or TV specific. I don't have anything that supports 120hrz if you were going to ask about that.
Thanks for the video Vincent, I as a tv salesman and your video's are always really helpful. Looking forward to seeing this in our shop and compare it to the 55XF90 which was a beast tv.
Sticking with my x900f for awhile i don't really care about 120hz or VRR. Next gen consoles won't have many 120fps games anyway and i don't think many games will have screen tearing with those next gen CPUs so no need for VRR as well
There's already confirmed 120 fps titles, Dirt 5 for example. Most games will be 60 fps tho, sadly we will probably still see 30 fps games (I hope these games will feature a high fps mode, like on many PS4 Pro titles released after 2016 tho...) 60 fps should be the goal for next gen. 30 fps is an immersion killer.
Great review - told me everything I needed to know, and now that’s another TV taken off the potentials list. Looking forward to seeing a similarly thorough review of the LG 75NANO906NA and the Panasonic TX-75HX940B.
Edit: I did like the best value award at the end. I already have a B9 Oled 55”, but I just bought this 75” X900H for $1,600 US dollars, so definitely a good deal! Kind of annoying how he focuses so much on differences between B9/BX and C9/CX and X900H and X1 ultimate processor. Like yeah, it’s not the best, but the terms and things you use are quite technical, and you also use high camera exposure or zoom in on quantization artifacts and stuff, so we can’t see how it looks in real life. You need to focus more on how much this would affect somebody who just wants a decent mid range TV for the money, and not just say what the TV can’t do or what it’s worse at without a base line. Yeah, it’s worse than the X1 ultimate. I feel like that should be obvious. But is it still watchable and is it still good even though it’s not the BEST? That’s what I want to know
Yep got my x90h here in Australia and I use it to game and steam to twitch on .. runs perfectly , plus considering Sony’s next model up won’t even have HDMI 2.1 it is a great buy
Vincent and Rtings dropping their reviews within a few hours of each other...🤔 perhaps a sign to buy 😆 After watching the review, me personally, I’m gonna hold off. Couple of things just did it in for me.
I have a 55"XE9305 and hoped that the XH95 had HDMI 2.1 because I want a 65" instead with slightly better viewing angles. Seeing this it is just not interesting for me. I'm sure though the X900H will get amazing discounts and many people will enjoy but image wise a clear step down from what I have. The ZH8 is too expensive with a 75" being the smallest model. Hopefully we will see better a better master LCD series later this year similar or a 65" ZH8 with the 2.1 gaming features.
I dunno, I have a ks8000 65in and I love it, I recently bought the 85in Sony 900h and if you asked me to rate it I would give it a 8.5 or 9 out of 10.... Perhaps it's the huge size or that I haven't had the set long enough to see some of these drawbacks, but for gaming and movies I'm blown away
Charl Woods I was wanting the 85” 900H, but I just can’t do it. Yes the 85” would be very submersible, but imo it’s to much of a step down from the 900F I currently have, just smaller, for me to justify. Especially with Vizios new Quantum X coming out in 75” next month and the 85” this fall for practically the same prices as Sony right now. Vincent in his early review, along with several others, where very impressed with the picture quality they were seeing. Now of course I’ll wait to see what his actual review says. But Visio has been making major steps the last few years in quality. Never been huge on their processing and motion, but they’ve made big leaps and this new line could very well be the non oled/ HDMI 2.1 answer. Time will tell.
Hey Vincent, Are you able to share a video about your recommended settings for the Sony XH-90? You mentioned that you are going to produce a video about that but I couldn’t find anything about that yet. Thank you in advance. Best, Sven
Surprised by the blooming comment as I bought this TV to replace my XF900F and blooming is much improved on this TV especially on HDR movies in a dark room, it is the 55inch version so I don't know if that makes a difference.
Acording to rtings measurements for the 55inch model this tv dims a lot the 10% and 25% windows in hdr so that may be the reason why it is better than the F when it comes to blooming. If this is true then i would prefer the F for hdr movies.
I may be wrong but there seems to be a real 'panel lottery' with this set compared to any other I've researched lately. I have this TV and for me it is performing better than my Q70R even though that scores higher on rtings.com. Black's are black, I have no dead pixels as I've seen some suggest, HDR seems brighter than the Q70R even though it supposedly is not as bright and has less dimming zones. I don't have the darkened corners I've seen people say they have. I think I got lucky and got a great panel, had a nightmare tracking this TV down as stock everywhere was limited and I was taking a gamble as there was next to no info online when I ordered but the future HDMI 2.1 update and knowing Sony's motion handling is better than Samsung made me take a leap of faith and I must be lucky that I did. For the price I think this is a fantastic TV.
I'm a little conflicted about the 32 zones comment. When watching movies in a dark room, with the tv set to either dolby vision or dolby vision bright I noticed zero blooming and the black bars stay black. I personally don't care how many zones my tv has, as long as I don't notice any of it. I think these reviews are selling this TV short. Max Max Fury Road, Bladerunner 2049, and into the spiderverse all look stunning and are too bright imo. During the day the tv gets bright enough to overcome the reflections from the windows.
And I'm devastated that i spent a lot of money on the fucking 55xf9005, its the worst piece of shit I've ever seen! How can you even stand the vomit inducing blooming is beyond me! It doesn't even have a nice picture to begin with. The recommend settings from those assholes at rtings.com look like shit, bland picture with no colors, stuttering is also a big problem for a sony tv that is supposed to have "superior motion handling". Shoud have gotten a cheap LG IPS tv, now I'm sure it would have been much better than this peace of shit!
The gradation issues are too bad for me so I'll pass on this one unfortunately. It's a shame that XH95 doesn't have HDMI 2.1 features and XH90 doesn't have as good picture quality... Sony why are you doing this to us? Anyway thank you for the really detailed and good review, I really appreciate it. Also congratulations on 200k subs!
I am interested about the rather large discrepancy between test results found with regard to HDR peak brightness on a 10% window? Rtings measured only 449 cd/m² compared to your measured 680.46 cd/m² Thank you for the review and congratulations on 200K subs!
Yeah, I found that weird too. Could it have something to do with the pathetic ammount of dimming zones and the screen size. Rtings measured higher brightness on a larger patch which generally should not happen. Maybe the 10% window somehow got in between zones and thus has lower brightness for 55 incher, while Vincent got normal readings on the much larger 75. Strange.
I have the 55". It's a lovely TV. I have inky black Letterbox bars, no blooming on subtitles. Good motion handling, excellent HDR. Upgraded from a Samsung KS7000. The apparently small number of local dimming zones doesn't appear to be a negative factor as far as I can see. No obvious blooming issues either. Excellent for the money. And HDMI 2.1 to come.
Do you also not have blooming on white subtitles when watching HDR content? If so what settings do you have? Do you have local dimming to high or medium? Do you also watch movies/tv shows in a dark room?
Dude he has the 55 inch which may perform a lot better but also he wrote that post when the tv came out so he had the first couple of firmware updates that had some image quality settings issues which got massively improved later on when you posted this. My advice to you is to make sure you update the firmware to the current version v6022 for Sony Bravia X900H XH90 depending on your region and then go to the settings menu and do a Factory Reset so all your settings are default... then only adjust internet and HDMI input settings then test with either a UHD 4K HDR Blu Ray disc movie player or a Sony PS4 Pro, PS5, Xbox One X and Xbox Series S/X with either a 1080p movie for SDR (and PS4) or a UHD 4K HDR Blu Ray disc movie for the rest to see different scenes, lighting and nighttime scenes.
I wasn't paying attention when he said something about looking for another hole. I snapped back seconds later when it dawned on me with a smile on my face thinking lmfao that was so on purpose. Rewinded, was fully satisfied.
I bought this ... a 65" due to this video a few weeks ago because I laughed soooo hard... Thanks for the review... Its damn impressive...What a deal! (Disc price $2k Aus because of the new 9500 , PS4pro owner also , hopefully a PS5 soon-----ish)
I was thinking about the 65" version of this but ended up buying las year's XG95 instead for the same price. HDMI 2.1 won't do anything to games that cap out at 60 or even 30 fps. VRR might be nice but all of that is gonna have issues in these sets, they are first gen products after all with this new SOC. And when it comes to movies, shows or even youtube videos, the 95 series is gonna be miles ahead still.
Regarding bandwidth though, which games will fully utilise 12bit HDR 4:4:4 4K120 that the 48gb promises? Personally, waiting for a hdmi2.1 monitor for gaming
I have the Sony X930E and was considering upgrading to the 900 or 950, but it seems like the picture quality on these 2020 TV's are not as good as that on my current TV. What is your opinion?
Hey you all, I’m thinking about buying one of these but there’s a sale right now in Poland on OLED TVs and LG OLED55B9SLA is in the same price as that Sony model, even cheaper. Any advices what should I get? Main purpose: Netflix & PlayStation
Do b9 have hdmi2.1? I say go with the Oled at the sale price and try it out in your home. If you like it, keep it. If you find things you don’t like about the b9, just exchange it before the 15 or 30 days, whatever the store policy is and get the Sony.
If it's the same price, there's no question; the OLED wins in every aspect. The only thing I would advice you to NOT get an OLED for is if you constantly watch the same news channel or sports channel. Like several hours per day. At that point you might see some screen burn in after a few years of use that you won't get rid of. If you don't do that then go for it. I myself have the E9 (same as C9 but looks better). There's nothing bad about it that I can find tbh. Although I have not used every single feature yet either. I only use it for gaming on PS4, watching 4k HDR stuff via USB HDD or connecting my laptop. Those are my main uses. Oh and maybe some local news app every now and again but nothing major.
@@Heliosvector LG's 9 series (2019 models, B9, C9, E9, etc.) all have HDMI 2.1 on ALL their ports (4 ports). They're even 48Gbps versions, not the 40Gbps version on the later models the X series (2020). Not that it matters too much tbh, but just worth noting in case someone who cares reads this.

Osobiście kupiłem XG9505 bo wszędzie mi pisali, że jest duzo lepszy od XH90 jeśli chodzi o hdr i jakość obrazu. Vincent, I'm trying to calibrate an XH90 model by Sony using the SpyderX on HCFR, but I have two questions: 1. Should I use StandardLED or Wide(Gamut)LED on the setup screen? 2. For the REC709 color space (non HDR), what is the proper Gamma value (-2 or 0) for 2.2? Thank you in advance!
I was all set to return my Samsung Q7DR/Q70R 65" TV to the warehouse club and pay the difference for the X900H, but after watching this review and reading a firsthand comparison of the the Q70R and X900H, it doesn't seem like the X900H would be any better for watching satellite TV and movies. Thanks Vincent for the great reviews and subtle humor!
Good idea. I've compared my X900E to the X900F, X950G, and X900H over the years and the X900E somehow manages to still look better than them all on stock firmware. However, I recently upgraded my X950G to the X950H firmware, and dare I say it looks better than the X900E by a hair.
how was your usage ? i want to buy OLED TV and im afraid of this ! i love my things and i want to keep them 5 years or more ! if you have the money again what was your pick?
@@notme7285 Usage was typical at least 6 hours a day by the entire family. It still looks great though even with the screen burn. I would buy OLED again especially since new technology is making screen burn harder to achieve.
And the x900e remains the best lcd for gaming that Sony has made. In terms of picture quality, quality control and low enough lag. Got an x900e in the game room, and Sony A8h in the living room :)
It has 2 out of 4 ports 2.1 compatible via firmware upgrade. I think the message here was that the new SoC used for 2.1 support isn't as good as Sony X1 ultimate chipset at picture quality, so Sony rightly placed picture quality above hdmi 2.1 on their high end sets. I think.
Hey Brian, the man! I read a few here and there and a lot of people referred 900H model as a 2020 successor of 850G. Not sure whether it is true though. Vincent is detailed as always but I guess I was expected better in terms of peak brightness as it is putting in on the same price tag as X950G with well below par processor as Vincent believe.
How’s blooming in a dark room? Specially letterbox bars. This tv is not as bright as the 950h .. so my guess is that it may perform a bit better in that environment
Got the same one for $2800. Wife and I are completely blown away. We recently watched finding dory on Disney+ in 4K Dolby Vision at and it was mind blowing. Black level were perfect 95% of the time and the hdr performance was better then my c9 in the game room.
Really thank you you are amazing!! I’m very convinced to buy the xh90 to be also ready for ps5. But in uk Hisense just release the U8QF, Cost less and on the paper seems very good. Do you think can be a better choice over all?
It won't happen anytime soon, as 8K technology has just released, it was same with 4k, and even now 4k cheapest TV is around 6-700, by the time you want to buy one the technology will be alot better, probably in around the next 3-4 years, so you will have to pay premium price to have the best experience anyway
I just bought 55x900h in China last month, there was a shopping festival discount that only cost me 4500rmb($650 €570). Sony's pricing in North America and Europe is too expensive. 55X900H China’s official price is 6000rmb ($850) ,it is $1000 in US.

Hi Vincent. Which one is better - the Sony 95G (2019) OR Sony 90H (2020). 95H hasn't yet been released in India and I am getting the same price for the Sony 95G (2019) & Sony 90H (2020) 55" at the moment. Thanks.
32 zones if this carries on soon Sony will put 3 zones in there TVs. My 75”ZD9 as 800 zones yes it’s a master series and obviously costs a lot More when released and doesn’t have HDMI 2.1 and the gaming lag may be higher but still it’s a better TV compared to most 2020 models yet I thought over time cost for more zones would of been cheaper to manufacture giving newer models more zones for a cheaper price tag. 🤷🏼♂️ so really for that price it’s not really cheap because if it had 800 zones that tv would be in the 7k rage.
Same thing with the Panasonic DX902. That came out in 2016 and has 512 zones, 1200 nits peak brightness and brilliant local dimming and colour accuracy. Its far better than 2020 TV's.
Well, the XH is a mid-range television. To compare it with a special model in the high-end range is not quite appropriate. The picture quality that Sony delivers with the XH is perfectly ok for the number of dimming zones, and the price will still fall well below 1000 dollars or euros. This makes it very difficult for the competition. It's also the right TV for the upcoming Playstation 5, especially since most Playstation 5 customers don't want to spend 1500 or more on a new TV with HDMI 2.1 support. So I like what Sony does. Sony will also produce a high-end special model again, but the times of 500 or 800 dimming zones are over. In my opinion, no manufacturer will do that in the future.
Which has better picture quality, Sony X900H or Samsung Q80R. Both have almost similar cost. Except for lack of HDMI 2.1 is there any major difference in picture quality.

Wait just one minute, I want to hear about Bangkok!
It's called the ping pong show
I'm sticking with Dolby Vision Dark, based on your recommendation (regardless what others might try to suggest or prove). Thank you for being professional.
That's what I use at night. During the day I'll switch to DV bright for movies. No complaints here.
But if you calibrate them both and change their settings won’t they give the same picture?
@@RdCrestdBreegull I'm no expert but if you watch content during the day the color's won't look correct due to the external lighting bouncing off the TV screen.
This is why it's best to have two different TV settings at least. One for night. And one for day time. That way you will see the best picture quality for the different types of situations your eyes are adjusting to.
This is why allot of people love to have there "Man Cave" to have it pitch black to experience the best when it comes to the movie viewing experience.

I want to go Bangkok with you Vincent, you seem like an expert.
Lol
Great video as always Vincent! I’m coming from an LG 43UH6500 (2016) which according Rtings has some pretty bad grey/black uniformity, peak brightness (340 cd/m2) & a high response time, and honestly none of these things were ever glaring issues in day-to-day use (I even turned down the brightness/contrast). By the looks of it the x900h is an improvement in pretty much every aspect and is future proof at a reasonable price. Looking forward to it!
This guy would make a great comedian, I legit laughed out loud at the Bangkok joke.
@@wilgiefortis I agree with you 100% !!!!
Are viewing angles really bad on this set say from about 20 degree angle?
based on measurements the X900E and X900H should have identical brightness. Maybe the newer SOC chip makes HDR and DV look brighter?
@@ricksb5 Yes. I wouldn't buy one, if you planned on viewing from that angle, I'd choose an IPS or a set with a layer, to improve angled viewing.
I have the 900E as well and I love it. The 900 E has better contrast and higher nits, so how can it be brighter?
D-Nasty's Noise I honestly don’t know, I’ve put them side by side and that’s what my eyes are telling me.

Edit: Vince's latest video posted today (Oct 27) proof that Sony's most recent firmware update on the X900H enables Dolby Vision which is absolutely fantastic. I haven't been able to download the update but that may be because of the regional restrictions so i should see it later today or tomorrow. If that's the case, along with the HDMI 2.1 support.

That’s what I want to know
Price just dropped on these to £999 in UK for 55”! Can’t argue at that price, just snapped one up
Yep got my x90h here in Australia and I use it to game and steam to twitch on .. runs perfectly , plus considering Sony’s next model up won’t even have HDMI 2.1 it is a great buy
Vincent and Rtings dropping their reviews within a few hours of each other...🤔 perhaps a sign to buy 😆

No. It's a sign NOT to buy.
Yeah after watching his review, as much as I hate to say it, I’m gonna hold off on this model.
Hey Vincent,
Are you able to share a video about your recommended settings for the Sony XH-90? You mentioned that you are going to produce a video about that but I couldn’t find anything about that yet.
Thank you in advance.
Best,

Surprised by the blooming comment as I bought this TV to replace my XF900F and blooming is much improved on this TV especially on HDR movies in a dark room, it is the 55inch version so I don't know if that makes a difference.
Do you prefer the XH90? I ask as I’m thinking about it and I’ve been burned by OLED. Never again
900F has better contrast and higher nits.
What about subtitles? This video makes them look really bad...

Thinking about getting the 55" when it's released here, no regrets?
I'm a little conflicted about the 32 zones comment. When watching movies in a dark room, with the tv set to either dolby vision or dolby vision bright I noticed zero blooming and the black bars stay black. I personally don't care how many zones my tv has, as long as I don't notice any of it. I think these reviews are selling this TV short. Max Max Fury Road, Bladerunner 2049, and into the spiderverse all look stunning and are too bright imo. During the day the tv gets bright enough to overcome the reflections from the windows.

Maybe a problem for PC gaming but not for the PS5 console.

I would love to see a head to head for the 900h, the 2021 p series quantum x, and the samsung q90t.
I wish he could review Vizio
I am interested about the rather large discrepancy between test results found with regard to HDR peak brightness on a 10% window? Rtings measured only 449 cd/m² compared to your measured 680.46 cd/m²
Thank you for the review and congratulations on 200K subs!
Strange.
Who cares, the tv will still be shitty anyways, 200nits aint gonna save it anyways
How does the X900H compare to the Q70R? Thanks Vincent were the great videos! I learn something new every time.
Good question let me know if u find out
I have the 55".

Dark corners and blooming has put me off though.

This TV looks fantastic for a mid ranger. I am really interested in this Bravia :)
It's sad that this TV is only considered a mid range
Regarding bandwidth though, which games will fully utilise 12bit HDR 4:4:4 4K120 that the 48gb promises?
Personally, waiting for a hdmi2.1 monitor for gaming

I have the Sony X930E and was considering upgrading to the 900 or 950, but it seems like the picture quality on these 2020 TV's are not as good as that on my current TV. What is your opinion?
I absolutely love his frequent sexual innuendo. I think Vincent missed his calling, could have been a great comedian.
You guys rather go with XH90 or Samsung Q80T* for movies/gaming with new upcoming consoles? Thoughts?
Anthrax oh I know all that side stuff. Just wasn’t 100% sure if the b panels had 2.1 as I have only ever looked at the C line really.
Excellent video. I’ve watched multiple videos about this tv on RUclips and none come close to this. And the Bangkok joke actually made me lol
It's funny - every time the joke bell dings is exactly when I'm hitting the Like button on Vincent's videos 😂
Holy crap
Just bought this tv in 85 inch size for 2k USD. I am very happy with it
id love to see a compilation of Vincent jokes, he is hilarious
He really should do one at least annually.
Vincent, I'm trying to calibrate an XH90 model by Sony using the SpyderX on HCFR, but I have two questions:
1. Should I use StandardLED or Wide(Gamut)LED on the setup screen?
2. For the REC709 color space (non HDR), what is the proper Gamma value (-2 or 0) for 2.2?
Thank you in advance!
Do I buy one of these or an LG B9 OLED...? 🤷🏻♂️
thats the QUESTION for any future Ps5 Gamer😂
Shiroi_Karasu634 Already bought a 65” LGB9 now

I was all set to return my Samsung Q7DR/Q70R 65" TV to the warehouse club and pay the difference for the X900H, but after watching this review and reading a firsthand comparison of the the Q70R and X900H, it doesn't seem like the X900H would be any better for watching satellite TV and movies. Thanks Vincent for the great reviews and subtle humor!
Where do you find that q70r vs x900h comparison ? Link please ?
Keeping my mighty 900E!
Good idea. I've compared my X900E to the X900F, X950G, and X900H over the years and the X900E somehow manages to still look better than them all on stock firmware.
However, I recently upgraded my X950G to the X950H firmware, and dare I say it looks better than the X900E by a hair.
Yes absolutly no need to change
Same here!
You say only by a hair! That says it all! That a Gen E can hang in there with a Gen H
Same here! New consoles are still sticking with 30 fps and probably a few 60 fps. The only 120fps with maybe be 1080p. Its just marketing hype.
I still own the LG B8 OLED and still happy with it but not with the screen burn. You can see Netflix logo at the bottom its been about 3 years
Burn Baby
how was your usage ? i want to buy OLED TV and im afraid of this ! i love my things and i want to keep them 5 years or more ! if you have the money again what was your pick?
@@notme7285 Usage was typical at least 6 hours a day by the entire family. It still looks great though even with the screen burn. I would buy OLED again especially since new technology is making screen burn harder to achieve.

Hi, great vid and overview. Quick question. While in game maids, does turning of local dimming further reduce input lag?
And the x900e remains the best lcd for gaming that Sony has made. In terms of picture quality, quality control and low enough lag.
Got an x900e in the game room, and Sony A8h in the living room :)
32 zones on a 75in OUCH and I mean OUCH 680nits that's it on a led
Sony, the manufacturer of the Playstation console keeps dropping the ball with a gaming enhanced TV.
How does this this Tv compare to the XF90 series as it has the X1 extreme processor ? Looks like the XH90 has X1 only
Absolutely superb joke at the start there 🤣
Sooo, I have a 2018 Samsung 55NU8000. Would this tv be be a significant upgrade worth buying?
Awesome job as always! Huge mistep by sony by not having Hdmi2.1 not because it's needed but because the competition does and will.
Haha fantastic, I own the 85inch version of this set I got it a couple days ago and I'm blown away by it coming from a 65inch ks8000
Sony is better all around my friend
Got the same one for $2800. Wife and I are completely blown away. We recently watched finding dory on Disney+ in 4K Dolby Vision at and it was mind blowing. Black level were perfect 95% of the time and the hdr performance was better then my c9 in the game room.
@@BirdManCinema yes sir, for me it was angry birds 4k on Netflix.. I was like oh my lord!
Ks8000 was edge lit. Fald is a huge quality increase .
@@D-NastyNoise Yessir I know, it's night and day, I love it.. I just can't stop watching movie after movie lol.
I'm definitely keeping it
Really thank you you are amazing!!
I’m very convinced to buy the xh90 to be also ready for ps5. But in uk Hisense just release the U8QF, Cost less and on the paper seems very good. Do you think can be a better choice over all?
Can't wait when these reach 500-800€ price range.
Don't think that will happen
@@astrocslopes863 They are selling basic 4k tvs for under 400 now, when they used to cost over 4000€.
@@没心没肺的快乐废物东 and european products cost more in Asia. Compare prices for Moncler. It's only natural that a Sony would cost less in China. There are less duties fees
Look to Visio for $/Zone improvements.
The "Established Brands" are pretty firmly in the "Old Man Yelling At Cloud" phase.
I mean they did release ZG9 with a new BMD technology. Not all bad news.
Pleeeeease be the one.....
EDIT - THANKIN YOU 👍
For a non dark living room with quite a few windows would you use the Sony KD-75XH9005 or Samsung 75" Q80T or Samsung 65" Q90T ?
