    Awesome. I am a 55 year old lady and don’t know anything mechanical.
    I watched how it was done and mastered it.
    So proud of myself.
    Thanks for the video.

    Excellent video and an easy repair. The drivers door is a bit more difficult with more tabs and the lockout button. That button can be pried off very gently. Also some spray electrical contact cleaner makes short work of cleaning the switches.

    Can't thank you enough, this worked on my 5, my window was left open so it was definitely important to fix, changed a few fuses out even though they weren't burnt but wanted to try.

    Thank you very much. You saved my day. I have just done all switches on my 2013 mazda 3 which has similar carbon build up issue. All my roll up switches is black. The assembly is different but easy enough to figure out.

    My 12 year old Mazda 3 just started having this issue. Thanks for covering the R Pass switch, as my others are working fine…!👍🏻

      Success… eventually! The switch design was a tad different, but no surprise there. I had both a long bristle toothbrush and a nylon spiral brush for cleaning straws. I did wind up taking it apart twice, as the first attempt yielded a promising but short lived result. Gonna invest in some “pcb/electronics” cleaner since I have uses for it elsewhere in my diy life (vinegar windex is ok in a pinch, but not ideal). Again, thanks for the guidance.

    Easier way to pry these open is using toothpicks , stick them underneath each tab and just pull it open 😉

    How do you take off the lock button on the driver side panel. The last bottom button. It has two little grooves but I couldn't remove it without possibly breaking it.

    Saw you're video applied it on my 2 gen very helpful to keep maintaining the switches. Unfortunately, it not solved my problem. The windows mostly the rears, sometimes work and sometimes not. Saw the carbonized and cleaned it up. Just have one clicking sound when press the button and the window not moving.

      Same here. My windows get stuck at times and won't go down. I get a single click like the motor is engaging but window won't go down. I don't believe it's the switches because it behaves the same with the master (drivers) switch as it does at any particular door switch. It acts like the motor just doesn't have the torque to start moving the window. Other times they work just fine. It's really random on when this happens, and all the windows do this independently at some point or another.

    • @user-bl1pd1oc4d
      @user-bl1pd1oc4d 2 года назад +1

      If anyone still encounter that problem the motor is the problem. You will need to clean the rotor plates inside but that solution wont last you will rather replace the entire motor assembly.

    Hey, thanks for the video. The driver side window on the my mazda 5 quit, or really, it moves like an inch up and down, so I suppose there still could be an electric contact problem. The thing is, the switch that controls that window has a small lightbulb that straddles the switch, so you can't remove the top of the switch to see those little rockers inside. The bulb is soldered in. Do you think I can just remove that bulb, without causing problems with the rest of the switch? My gut says yes, but I am just not sure

    Hello Mike! I have one question concerning this. All of a sudden, all my windows stopped working intermittent and then not at all, all at once. Do you think this would be my problem??? I already verified the fuses and they are still good so I know it's not that, and I was about to go visit the garage but I am afraid they will scam and over charge me!

      OH MY GOD. I still went to check my driver's door side and the electric connector was not plugged in properly!! In the past few months my car was at the garage for door repairs. I put it in and all is working. I can't believe I went without windows for two whole months!!! I cannot believe it was that small of a problem!!! I cannot THANK YOU enough for this video, without this, I would be at the garage spending so much money for a 5 minutes-fixed issue!!!! THANK YOU!

    You do know they make contact cleaner made for stuff like this. Crc is a brand. You should use cleaner or at least rubbing alcohol. Dont think file is the right way to clean them now. Should have cleaned plug pins too on the one Really
